Susan, you know we are here for you, so it's ok to let it all hang out. I want to give you a hug, so maybe I'll jump in the van and drive to Texas. Wouldn't that be a surprise? I'm sorry you and Pat had an argument. I don't think men show their emotions like we do. I know Bob holds things in, and then when I least expect it, he blows. We'll be keeping you guys in our prayers.
Tina, we have been on the porch a lot!! Even Tim was out there with Kramer today while I was gone. I have a couple of books that I want to read, but I also know I have some school things that I need to do. I had my Sat. aerobics class today instead of tomorrow. Today we walked (some ran) the track. Then we did those big balls (what a hoot!!), then pilates (oh my!). I came home, took a shower, then Tim and I walked to the Tiger's Den (that's where he is working part time) for lunch. I had therapy for my back at 2:30. The therapist really checked me out, took notes, etc. since this was my first visit. She is the same one that I worked with about my carpal tunnel before I had that surgery. Busy day. I was thinking that I just might go shopping and get something new for Easter. Then I can take it on vacation and wear it when we go out for our anniversary. |
Hi all,
What did everyone do today???? I washed and dryed and ironed and dyed eggs, made cheese grits for tomorrow, etc., etc.,etc. Do I sound busy or what! We always go to my sister's house. Some day we'll come to mine. I don't want the kids bothering Smokey. I bought us a little piece of ham. We'll have sandwiches out of it tomorrow night. Tammy, did you buy that new outfit? Everyone have a wonderful Easter!: :flow1: |
We're having ham for dinner today, and it sounds delicious right now!!
Tina, I didn't buy an outfit. I hurt pretty bad yesterday. I think doing the class, walking, and doing therapy on Friday was just too much. I didn't get much accomplished yesterday at all I did go to the old house and sort some things for the auction. I sat to do that. Bob brought boxes to me. Happy Easter!!! |
Happy Easter Everyone
We're not doing anything special today- my 2 younger sons (Ian & James) & Ian's girlfriend, Chantelle came over yesterday-the transit system where they live isn't running today. Well, i'm just about packed for my move, next saturday- I'm so looking forward to it-You know after almost 29 yr Geoff hasn't even asked if we could talk about this or anything, so i really do know i'm making the right choices here. Oh, I managed to get out the last few mornings on the rollerblades and i'm still here to talk about it LOL- i will continue to practice until i can go a little further and longer each day. Would you believe, here it is apr 16 and as i look out my window, it's snowing!!! Now I know it's not going to stay, because it's not that cold out but Holy!! I don't know how much i weigh right now, because i packed my scale, but i feel great and I'm still not smoking Well, I sure hope you all have a great day, I know I intend to, we deserve it maureen |
Happy Easter! At least what is left of it.
We worked outside ALL day long. Pat stripped horsestalls and mowed some. I did other outside chores and planted some new plants. We finally came in and cleaned up and went to get bbq. Talk about an exciting day! :) Tammy, when is your meeting with the superintendent? I can't believe that the principal would be a teacher in your building. If they let him do that they are dumber than they already are!!!! Tina, I love to dye eggs. I didn't even get any done this year. Maureen, you sound good. Are you moving to a different city or just to your own place? I can't remember if you said or not. You are doing great with all that you have going on. You know we are here for you. Thanks for always being there!!!!! Ya'll mean the world to me!!! |
Maureen, it sounds like you are making the right decision. Good for you on surviving the rollerblades!!!! I am impressed!! I'd hurt myself just putting them on!!
Susan, our Easter involved going through some things here at the house and organizing. Big thrill, right? I did throw away more stuff, so that's a good thing. Bob and I are meeting with the supt. at 1:00 today. I'm kind of nervous about it. I'm trying not to get my hopes up that it all works out the way that I want. The therapist on Friday asked me how soon I could quit. I asked why, and she said she is sure that the stress is causing the fibro to act up and that's part of my back problems. The chiropractor said the same thing last week about stress. Seems like there's a pattern here!! I go for therapy again this afternoon at 4:00. |
Hope everyone had a good Monday!
Tammy, how was the meeeting? It certainly sounds like stress is the big thing! Tina, How are you? Maureen, I am so impressed with your rollerblading. I would be in intentsive care!!! :D |
The meeting was pretty boring. He had a calendar to show when my last day would be if I am there next year for the 120 days. I told him that I don't want to be in the 4th grade position because I believe that the students should have the same teacher the whole year if possible. I mentioned the tutoring positions (still full time pay) that are available. He talked about me not teaching at all next year, which would require a doctor's letter stating that I shouldn't teach. The rheumatologist is leery about it because she thinks if I stop teaching that I'll curl up and die. Did I already tell you that?
Anyway, I go to my family doctor on the 26th. He knows what I've been going through with the depression issues as well as the pain. Last fall he asked how soon I could get out of there. I'm hoping that when I talk to him, he'll be willing to write the letter. If not, I guess I'll be there next fall. I don't know if the physical therapist can write a letter stating what my problems are, but I think I'll ask when I go on Wednesday. Today they figured out that my right leg works fine for some things and awful on others. On the things that my right leg is good on, the left leg is bad. And the left is good when the right one is bad. They think I've been trying to deal with the pain by walking weird. Hoping that the stretching exercises will help. They encouraged me to keep doing the water aerobics. One more day of spring break, then back to school on Wednesday. Boo. |
Hi all,
Tammy, get your family doctor to get you out of there!!!!! Your pain and stress will just get worse with time. I'm so sorry you have that problem. I'm sending you a big HUG, carefully, of course. Susan, are you feeling any better? I hope Pat is doing better. Maybe by letting it all out, he's able to deal with things better now. How is your nose? Maureen, you are a speed devil!  I'm glad you have such a positive attitude about moving out. Sis, what's up with you? Is your kitchen finished? Mimi, how are you doing????? We had a good Easter. I feel like I gained a ton. I hate that feeling. Has anyone looked at The Sonoma Diet? I bought the book today. It has some good recipes. I also picked up a recipe book at the grocery check-out. It has more recipes. I'll let y'all know if some are really, really good. :flow1: |
Tina, I hope the doctor will do something. I had a call from the rheumatologist about the back x-rays. Nothing there but arthritis. I almost cried. I wish it was something that could be fixed. Things might get better when I switch the one medicine, but I have to completely wean off of the other one first. Maybe this therapy will help. She said to keep up the water exercises at the Y. I'm supposed to call back after a couple more weeks of therapy and let her know what's happening.
I've heard of the Sonoma Diet, but I know nothing about it at all. I think I just need to lock myself away from food for a while. Maybe that would help. Back to school in the morning. 153 more days until retirement. |
Hi,
Hope everyone had a good day! Well my dad's youngest brother has been given 24 hours to live and has been put on a ventalator. Remember last year he lost 2 siblings within 6 weeks. I've had a headache and cramps all day long. I feel crossed eyed, so if I don't make sense you'll understand. Not that I make sense most of the time :D Tammy, GET OUT!!!! NOW!!!!! don't walk.... RUN!!!!! I can promise you that your GP will write the letter. I think your rheum. dr. doesn't realize that you will stay busy!!!! It just isn't good for your health. We can write you a letter if you want????????? Tina, how is Smokey doing? Maureen, I agree that you sound good about your move! Amy has another sick one. It seems like the poor thing always has someone sick or they just get well and then someone else gets it. My niece just got braces and is so excited. I think it's funny. |
Good evening ladies,
Well as Sue has told you, our uncle has surprised us and made it through the day. Time is near, so evertime the phone rings I am scared to answer it that it will be our Mom saying he is gone. My Brenden is sick awaing with a sinus infection, respiratory infection which is causing his asthma to act up. So we are doing breathing treatments every 3 hours. Tomorrow I am going to the get my early birthday present. (Which is still a month away). I am going to sign up for a trainer at the gym. I am not going to tell my family, so don't tell Sue if you talk to her. ;) i just need a good :kickbutt: to get back on track. Well we are about to get hit by a huge storm and are under a tornado watch until 2:45am, so it is time for the computer to go to bed. Hope you all have a good Thursday. |
It's Thursday.....
Bad news from this end. David got fired/laid off yesterday afternoon. In one more month he would've been there 8 years. That's the thanks he got. The owner had just built a new building for the company. He's been firing people "right & left" to make up the cost of building. They're hiring new people who don't make any money----also don't know how to do anything. His manager wasn't even told until one hour before David knew. Larry and David spent the evening filling out the unemployment internet form. I am so mad about this!!!!! As you can imagine, I wasn't hungry last night. I have been doing good this week, OP. Amy, it's good to hear from you. That is wonderful about getting a trainer at the gym. A few years ago for a gift, I gave Larry 2 training sessions at the gym. Susan, how's your nose? Tammy, I'm anxious for you to see your doctor and get a letter from him. Is Tim getting excited about graduation? Maureen, we haven't heard from you in a day or so. How's the roller blading going? Mimi, you are a quiet one. Sis, please let us know about your kitchen and the wedding plans. :flow1: |
Susan, how awful for your family, losing so many.
When you said that about not making sense, I kind of giggled. I don't make sense most of the time!! I'm hoping the doctor will write the letter. His DIL is a teacher, so at least he knows a little bit about what goes on. Since we attend the same church, he has seen how I've gone downhill the past couple of years. His daughter and Tim are the same age. I think it would be great if all of you would write me a letter. I'm sure the superintendent would go for that!!! Amy, my b-day is May 8. Should we have a party? Tina, that is awful about David and his job!! Keep us posted on what goes on with him. Yes, Tim is excited about graduation. I think we need to get on the ball and get invitations ready for the party and decide what food we're having. We're having the party the weekend before graduation. I didn't think I could handle both things the same weekend. Well, I'm headed for the porch to grade papers. Kramer will be with me, I'm sure. |
Hi,
Tina, that is horrible about David. I can't believe that he got laid off. It burns me up. Hopefully he will find something soon. Tammy, I know your doctor will write the letter. Ask if he will write me one too? Maybe I can retire too. Amy, I'm proud of you for getting a trainer..... Are you get Pablo? You are doing it just to make me jealous!!!!! :) My dad has a trainer from Argentia and has long curly hair ( I think) and has an accent. I keep saying I think I will need to check him out. My nose is doing well. It's still tender but not like it was. It's more now tender just around where the break is at. I just rub gingerly! We had storms here too. We needed the rain! I've had a headache for several days. Migraine and then a rain headache from the change in pressure. We are on the down hill slide of school!!!! It's hard to believe. |
