I'm finally back!

  • And I am here to stay! I feel bad that I was here at the start if the Slimmin Sistas and then I fell off the wagon big time. But I am so glad that you guys are still going strong! I'm excited to go back on read everything that I have missed while I've been gone.
Here's a little update on me:

I've recently finished up my first semester at Minnesota State University. Being a 32 year old freshman turned out to be quite the adventure! I ended up failing my Astronomy class (it was damn hard!) but did get straight A's in my other 3 classes. So I am quite proud of myself. (not bad for being out of school for 13 years!)
I did not fall off the program right when school started. I did really well at first. I packed my lunch and snacks and ate them while at school. Eventually the food court started calling my name
and I eventually gave in. Then it all went down hill from there. There were many nights that I pulled all nighters writing papers and drank waaaay too many cappuccinos! They started out being fat free vanilla and then moved onto the large turtle mochas from Caribou...not a good move.
I honestly have no idea how much I way right now, I am scared to find out. I'm actually in Arizona at my folks right now and my mom does not own a scale. I go home on the 4th and Lori and I are back on program in full speed the very next day. I will weigh in and update my info then.
Lori's parnts basically have a workout gym set up in their basement. So, we're going to go workout right after we take Byron to school every morning. And it's free! I also want to atempt yoga again. I felt good when I was doing it.
My sister gave me a WW recipe cdrom for x-mas, and I am anxious to start meal planning.
OK, I am ready for your support and I am also here to give it.
So what do you think sistas?!?!

  • Thanks so much for the welcome back girls! It feels good just knowing that I'll be back on the right track again.

I can't wait to get back home and get planning the menus! This thin girl inside is ready to break out of this fat shell of mine!

  • I am at the start line!
Hey ladies- I have now finally weighed myself and have updated my avitar and my goals. I even set a Valentine's Day goal. I am way excited to back!
I am proud to announce that Lori and I ( my partner in crime) went and worked out this morning after dropping Byron off at school. Our new gym is at her parents house. Needless to say, we are out of shape! We lasted 20 minutes. But it IS a start and you have to start somewhere. Today was my first time using a treadmill-and I actually liked it! I am hoping to eventually go from a fast walk to a full blown run...
I am working on a huge grocery list for when my financial aid comes in on the 30th-so I am working on the menus now also. For now, we are just eating what we have, drink water and move our big butts.

    Here's todays food so far:
    english muffin
    PB
    1% milk

    100 cal. pack

    subway-turkey/ham
    coke

    ff cappucino

    dinner will be:
    chicken breast
    mushrooms, garlic and onions
    baked potato
    salad
    1% milk

I'm also going to make up a batch of 1 point grammys to put in the freezer for treats. YUM!

    Okay girls, see you tomorrow!
  • Way to go!!!!
  • Great job, keep it up. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have you back!!!!
