Default Thread for Nov. 6 through Nov. 12

Hello, ladies!!!!

Stealing a phrase from "The Biggest Loser," what are you doing today to make yourself proud?! That's what I'm going to try to ask myself every day this week, and I'd like all of us to try to think about this question (or something similar). You certainly don't have to post your response, but just try to do at least one thing each day that you're proud of.

Here's to a fantastic week!! Let's go get 'em!

Thanks for getting us started Stephanie! Great little wya to get us thinking!

Let's see what I have I done today to me make feel proud? Well, I exercised. Then I took my own food to my mom's so I had healthy choices for lunch. I had a salad instead of stew (which isn't bad points wise, but I'm not a huge beef stew fan). So I feel pretty good! Oh and I was eating some leftovers for dinner and I stopped when I was full and put them away.

I am really hoping to see good things this week. I've tried so hard. Something I can't say the past few weeks taht I have seen a gain.

Have a fabulous Monday tomarrow everyone!!!!

Hi Sistas,

Steph, I like the idea of "what are you doing today to make yourself proud?" I am making myself proud today by staying OP foodwise. I've decided to take this thing one day, one hour, or one minute at a time.

I hurt so bad today that I don't think I can exercise, but I'm trying so hard not to eat because I think I deserve something special just because I'm in pain. That is a lot of my problem, eating for comfort; but it just makes it worse. The fatter I get, probably the more my back will hurt. It's a vicious circle.

Misty, I think its time that all your hard work will start paying off. I'm proud of the way you are sticking with it.

Thanks Sistas, for listening, you guys are the best.

I have a wierd question for all of you. I used to work out in the evenings, while watching my favorite shows. Then someone told me that working out in the evenings does absolutely no good, that you have to workout no later than before dinner, but with my job, I don't have that luxury...any thoughts?

This is a question Heather had. I moved it over here from the intro board to make sure we all saw it.

I think WW official stand is do it when you can and when it fits your life. That's my attitude too. There are alot of different theories floating around about this and I'm not a scientist, but frankly I feel a calorie burned is a calorie burned. Most people go to bed shortly after exercising in the evening, but if you work nights what's the difference in that and a day time worker doing it in the morning or on lunch? I exercise in the evening b/c sometimes that's the only time I get. Many people walk after dinner. Think the important thing is that you exercise in a way and at a time that you can do it consistently, in a way that fits your life.

I feel that same way about eating at night. Alot of people need a cut off to stop binging, but as long as you count the points and don't get out of control you can eat whenever you want. A calorie is a calorie no matter when it's eaten. AT elast that's what my leader says.

Luflic-I am so proud of you and inspired by the fact that even while away from home your were working the program! You go girl!

Yesterday started out pretty good ofr me then kinda went down hill. But I did ok. Not great, but ok. Well Got to run my kiddos should be here soon

I agree, I think if you exercise and burn calories at night, it's the same amount of calories if you would have have done the same things during the morning. I agree with the eating too...a calorie is a calorie is a calorie.

Have a good day, everybody!!

Default Peek a boo, I found you...

It apparently pays to look around..lol. I didn't realize how many threads were for slimmin sistas...that's fabulous!
I am so glad to hear your views on the exercising. I loved working out in the evenings. I could sit in front of the tv and be on the bike, and do crunches on the bike, and now that I have the core ball, I can do that in front of the tv too. It relieved stress, helped me sleep at night, and I had the time that is becoming increasingly harder to find during the day. Plus the kiddies are in bed by then, so it always worked. I always figured (before I was informed differently) that hey, at least I'm working out, right? How can that not build muscle and burn the fat and calories. so I may just go back to it...see how it goes.
well, i may have to check out some of the other threads too. I'll be back this evening. Have a great one until then.

I agree work out whenever you can. The rhyme or reason of how you lose the weight is beyond me. This week I gained a .5. I did phenomenal on exercise stayed at my points. Interesting thou I didn't use flex points this time at all. Also we ate out a lot being in Ohio. So anyway keep on plugging.

Welcome last time trying! I pray this is my last time also!!! I truly am determined to get to goal this time! Long and winding road... Hey should write a song

Luflic. Sorry to hear you gained. It could have been the higher salt in foods you eat out vs. you rnormal intake, or any otehr silly thing. You kicked tookus on exercise and it will pay off!!!! You're perseverance pushes me to keep going too!

Hey ladies! Well sorry I have been MIA the past couple of days...I had a long post written this morning and it vanished so here I am starting over again. Had a root canal today so not sure if I will get in my exercise or not...I'm thinking yes but we will see.
Steph-I am gonna say that I am so proud of keeping with my exercise routine...it is really helping me..everyday I go I am one more step closer to my goal!
Heather-Hi there! Glad you found us! My trainer says that the morning is the best time to work out BUT any cardio anytime during the day is better than no cardio. We work out in the evening around 5:00...so you go girl...keep it up!!
Luflic-I am sorry to hear about your gain...I do think that the flex pts are key to your losing. BUT kudos for eating out and staying OP...you must be making some great choices..that is a huge challenge for me. I bet you see great things next week!

What have I done today? Well! I lost 1.5 pounds. Plus I worked out! I am starting my poinst at night again this week so my "week" officially started at 5 pm tonight, so workout 1 is done!

Have a fabulous night....

Oh good was Biggest Loser? Matt looks liek a new guy, and even though his profile may be misleading with the wrestling stuff, he's turned out to be ok. And Suzy 10 freaking pounds...and Dr. jeff (who I admit annoys me a little) 100 pounds!!!!! Such a fun show!

You're right, Misty--the Biggest Loser was really good tonight, and Matt turned out looking soooo much better with his new haircut. I wonder how next week will go for him--I can't believe he gained 12 pounds!!! I would freakin' have a heart attack if I gained 12 pounds in a week!! OMG! I was hoping Andrea would go home rather than Shannon, but I figured it wouldn't work out that way. Have you checked out the biggest loser thread on here. Jillian has been answering people's questions!!! I couldn't believe it! I haven't posted anything, but I've been lurking. She's amazing! I'm currently reading her book, and it's quite good!
