Bandit, glad to hear you had a good time at the spa! Brow waxing is totally worth it, isn't it? It opens up your face and makes your eyes look huge. :) And I love having my toenails painted! I always ask for flowers, it makes me happy. :)

Judy, congrats on the pound down! :cb: It sounds like you have tonight well planned and well in hand. I'm sure you'll be fine. :)

I got up at 5:30 this morning and took my walk, 54 minutes today! :cb: I did the new walk in the opposite direction. I like walking as the sun is coming up. Judy, I'm probably faster than you because I have longer legs--I'm 5'9. So it's not that they're moving faster, they just stretch further each step!

Had a high day yesterday, shooting for a low day today. I'm sitting at Panera Bread writing for the morning--I have to resist the pastries! ;)

Hi turtles:

Well my w/i last night was not pleasant. My over-indulgences from the past few weeks has caught up with me & kicked me in the butt. I was up 3#!!!

That is the biggest increase I have had for a long time and I know it is just from having a few extra things here & there. Even though I have been swimming, it just isn't enough. So I had better get my act together & quick.

I have alot of social things but that is just not a good excuse to go crazy.

Actually tonight there is a Santa Claus parade meeting at my bf that I said I would go to & they are having chinese food. I love that stuff - so I need suggestions how to get through that without really doing alot of damage.

Mousie - nice job on the walking, really a good way to start your day. I don't know if I could focus on writing sitting in a bakery. Congrats to you for behaving yourself!

Judy - nice job on your weight loss. Keep up the good work!

Anyway, have a great day and remember:

Success is hanging on when you want to let go. (I need that little thought today)

Bye for now.

Bandit, make that your mantra. My favorite quote is, "this thing which we call failure is not the falling down but the staying down". I reassure myself with the thought that I fall (get knocked) down, but I ALWAYS get back up. As long as you keep getting back up, you'll get there. I have faith in you.

As for chinese food, I really can't help. I don't like it, so I don't eat it. Sorry. :( Maybe something with a lot of vegetables? :^:

It was a hard, hard lesson for me to learn that exercising does not mean I can eat whatever I want, or I can eat without care. Now, I exercise for the fitness and heart health benefits, but "exercise" and "diet" are completely separate in my mind. One does not necessitate the other.

Write it ALL down, and count it all. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and you'll be rolling again. :)

Bandit,
Okay, take a deep breath and remember that the top weight in this gain will come off real fast as you get back on track. That is a miserable gain and I feel for you! As far as Chinese food, I don't know if this is going to get to you in time, but I love brown rice served with steamed shrimp and veggies. I always get the sauce on the side and do very well with that. Also, eggdrop soup is only 1 point for a cup and that's a good way to fill up fast. Good luck! WE're all with you.

Mousie, I like your advice--we're all clicking now. I also like that you ascribe your faster walking to your height!!! (I have to add that i'm retired and you're a yoooooung lady, but you were kind not to mention that. I'm doing okay for myself. Have to buy a new treadmill because I wore out the rubber tread! Who'd a thunk it?)

Tough WI for me this morning. Yesterday morning it looked like I'd be down a pound. However, I overindulged for my dh's birthday and was up 1.2# this week. Ugh! I know if I do the right things this will come right off, but I've got to be smart and grown up and not angry and that's all hard to do. But I promise I will find another form of exercise until I can buy a new treadmill and I'll be careful with what I eat. I'll also start a new thread very soon asap.
Good luck to us all.
Love,
Judy
