Week of October 3 - Come and Chat!!
Hey everyone. A new month already. I can't believe how the year has whizzed by!!! We went to our local mountain (a hill to most people!!) and I did a little hiking to get to where we wanted. Wow, does that make a person feel out of shape!!!
Emma's dance class changed to Mondays, but the good thing is now Kate can go. There is a toddler class right before Emma's, so I will leave work a little early to get there. Kate is so excited. I just couldn't do 2 different nights, plus they take swim lessons on Thursday. Way too much running around!! That's it for me. I have a ton of work to do and not enough motivation this Monday morning!!! |
thats so cute, my dd did ballet when she was 5 but hated it ! she's into the girl scouts now and just found out shes going to be marching in the christmas parade, so she thinks shes the bees knees now
|
I just back from my hour walk. I had to walk/jog to keep warm. My glasses kept fogging up. I am going to look for places to hike. I was just talking to hubby about that last night. wierd. Anyways, it is the first Monday of the month, that means I have to pay bills. I don't wanna!
|
Flower, I did the bill paying thing last night... boy does it hurt.
We are currently going through a debt payment plan. If anyone is interested, do a search on Dave Ramsey or get his book. Once it is done, it will make us feel so much better and I know it will improve our marriage. No more fighting about money! There are things that he wants people to do, that I do not believe and cannot do because of my job. So we are working around those. It is tough tho!!! Kate, We are taking basic dance classes that are not strict at all. They are more an introduction to see if the kids are interested in it or not. The structured studios here can be a little too strict and intimidating for the kids. My girls love it because they are allowed to express themselves. And it doesn't cost me much!! And it is held at my church, so that makes it work! |
Hey Ladies
ahh yes Bill time I know it well and have to run after DH with a crow bar to get him to pay them. . .or teach me quicken so I can pay them. Jen-L I can't believe how booked kids are now! your kids seem to get downtime which is nice but here ppl book every minute of their kids day. Flower if you hike you could take a camera along and chronicle yourself Kati thats so cool that your daughter gets to be in a parade :D I'm going to the gyn today to hopefully find out why my period won't end no matter what pill I take! other than that nada going on here! bbiab Kierie |
jen- my daughter gets discouraged because she looks so different than other kids, at her 6 year wellness check, she was exactly where a normal 9 year old should be, height and weight, the dr is predicting 5'10, shes at least a head to a head and a half taller than any other kid in her class. but i'm tall 5'7 and daddy is 6'5 so its not really any surprise. my son is also tall but there are several in his class that are his height so its not so noticable. but hes 2 years old and they are within an inch of each other, everyone thinks they are twins.
ko- i hope they sort it out for you soon. kate |
Kate - My oldest is a peanut. She is skinny and shorter than most kids her age. My youngest is big. She is in the 90% for height and weight (oldest is lucky to reach 25%). They are so opposite. My 2 1/2 year old passes for a 3+ year old and she speaks very well for her age. I know she will pass up her sister pretty soon. As a child I was always the tallest, until 8th grade when the boys started hitting puberty. I actually liked being tall and used it to my advantage back then. But now kids are different and I can understand how she would be discouraged. Good luck to her!!
I leave in an hour. My oldest is the princess and loves dancing. My youngest just likes doing whatever her older sister does. I hope this goes well!! My youngest is very active and it is hard to keep her attention. Good thing her class is only 30 minutes. Have a great night all!! |
hey gals!
We finally got our insurance money & were able to replace our computer finally! Only 2 months! I don't have time to read all the news right now but I will eventually. As for me I'm not having a great year. We were in a car accident September 3rd. We were the middle car in a vehicle sandwich. Unfortunately I was sitting away from my seat digging in the glove compartment and so flew both forwards and back. I hit my seat so hard that it broke off. My first xrays at the emergency room showed lines on two of neck vertebrae & so they thought I had fractured it but after a CT scan it came back that I havw some ligament & muscle damage. Still not fun but much better than a broken neck. I had to wear a cervical collar for 10 days 24 hours a day. Not fun. Anyway I'm off of work & doing rehab. We're hoping I can go back to work part-time in a couple of weeks & then work my way up to a full day. My DH has some minor whip lash & the other people in the accident were ok. Of course with all of this going on the eating has been horrible & not near enough activity. I'm scared to get on a scale. Anyway I've gotta run. I'll definitely be around tomorrow. Hope you're all doing great! |
Rina, you poor thing! I hope you recover quickly! That must be a horrible thing to be reminded of daily. {{{{{hugs}}}}}}
My boys are schuduled for nothing. They play like kids, occasionally they ask to sign up for something but I don't look for stuff for them. I am a wierdo. lol |
oh no thats not weird at all, i only sign my kids up if they want to do it, my baby girl is a social butterfly, so shes often interested in stuff, i try to limit them to one or two things though, my son is in nothing, he'd rather play soccer or video games with his friends after school.
|
My kids are way too young to be signed up for a ton of things. I do require swim classes tho. That is very important to me since we are around water a lot. My dad couldn't swim and I don't want my kids to have to worry about that. Plus it makes me feel safer. They were both water babies and started classes young. Emma had a water mis-hap and had to be pulled out by a life guard because she slipped and couldn't get her balance. This was in shallow water. So I demand that they learn to swim. We do dance just because they like it.
I was so sick last night and still feeling really lousy. And of course I am here at work because we have a "big" meeting. Which may amount to not much, but it was required. Rina, hope you feel better. I am glad you were not injured more and that you both were OK! I know how scarey it can be and how the injuries can last quite a while. Take care of yourself. Well I am crabby today... partially because of the meeting and part because I just feel crappy!!! Ta Ta! |
I need to get swimming lessons for Grif. The only time we are near water is when we go on vacation and the hotel has a pool. But we won't be living here forever.
I can't walk til noon, after Grif goes to school. I like getting it done first thing. But at least 3 days a week I get to go early. Today is laundry, libary day. I went to S Walmart yesterday in the city and stocked up on frozen ww stuff. No brainer stuff when I am too tired to think. lol |
rina- glad your ok, (i'm kate by the way  )
jen- totally agree on the swimming, although my son isn't exactly what you would call accomplished, i think he could doggy paddle himself out of danger  gabby is a water baby too, so no worries there. this year was the last year for our 16ft swimming pool and our 26ft pool is coming really soon, so we can put up the outside, the liner will have to wait till next spring. flower- you have a laundry day ???? i'm so envious, everyday is laundry day here :( |
Hah Kate... me too on Laundry. We always have clean laundry because Kate is potty training and I have to wash every day so the smelly clothes don't turn on us!!! One day I know she will get the hang of it!! Some days she does fabulous, other days not so!!
My tummy is starting to feel better, but now I am starving. Not good! |
Helllooooo--- Quiet here today. I had a meeting this morning and soon will be running out with hubby to lunch. On Monday another lady at work and I are doing a 3 day quick start to get our bodies moving. I am hoping for the best and really want to be down my 10 pounds by vacation.
Does anyone watch the Biggest Loser tv show?? Last night the men were losing 10, 14, and 17 pounds for one week. How does that happen?? I can understand the first week losing a ton because of water. And the men are very overweight, but this just seems high to me. Also, the woman voted off last night... does anyone know if she is a Pro Poker Player?? She looks so much like one that I like to watch, but for the life of me I can't remember her name. Gotta run!! |
scale excitement here this morning, i think i'm down 2lbs, but won't know for sure until tomorrows weigh-in.
jen- i don't know about the biggest loser, but, on celebrity slim down (or whatever that show on vh1 was called) they have them all on nurasystem and going to the gym daily. 17lbs in one week ??? just think how fast it will go back on when they try to eat normally after whatever it is that they have them doing !! |
Last nights losses were crazy! How does one loose 17 pounds without having a baby or ampuation? I would LOVE to have that kind of jump start. They all have lost 30+ pounds in one month. It takes us forever to get there. Insane, just insane.
I walked yesterday. I will walk at lunchtime today too. I have a goal of 90 miles for the month. Next month I will join a water class. Well, if I can fit it in the budget I will. I am going out of town this weekend for a thingy at Pixar studios. Of course my period is due tomorrow. I am hoping it will be one of those months when I am late. We are getting a hotel with a pool and I would love to swim. I also don't want any water weight gain for WI, but I suppose that is too much to ask for. I am concentratiing on glasses apon glasses of water the next few days. |
DArn I missed the biggest loser Was it the one blonde wiht the long face that got kicked off?
I had a NSV yesterday my PT said are you losing weight wooowooo bbl |
I went to the website and the person kicked off is a regular church goer. Don't think she plays professional poker!!! :)
KO, the one kicked off had shoulder length auburn colored hair. She didn't smile a lot, but seemed to really be motivated. The thing that gets me about that show is how much they exercise. In the real world, how does someone have that time. It kind of irritates me, yet I still seem to watch it. Hmmm... |
Jen, if we didn't have kids, households, jobs ect we could have all that time to work out too. Imagine all the uninterrupted sleep they get ect. Then again when I didn't have all that stuff in my life, I was thin. lol
I walked my hour today. Yippy! My oldest got a job at McDonalds, I feel so old! He is 15. :( |
Hi all,
Doing okay, found an amazing wedding dress but am still looking for comparisions sake... So I am doing well, eating has been good and in 2.5 weeks it's my half-marathon! I am so excited! Hope everyone is well! Ali:) |
Hey Ali :)
Did you guys set the date? I'm getting forgetful in my old age! DH and I are looking for a new place to live rent or buy our complex is becoming unbearable too much to explain but I've eaten like a trucker this week from stress. bbiab Gotta look Busy ;) |
Ali - Can you post a pic or link of the dress. I loved trying on dresses. I want to get re-married just to go through the whole thing again!!! There is nothing like feeling like a princess, even for just one day!!!
Last hubby got mad because I hinted that he walk on the treadmill (only after he said he needed to work out)... so he did it. Then my competitive self decided to out walk him and when he got off, I got on. Even if it was 7:00pm. Our basement is finished, so the girls played while I walked. It wasn't a super long walk, but any exercise helps!!! I haven't weighed this week, but that is OK because I don't want to obsess!!! OK, gotta run and pick up Emma from pre-school!!! |
It is just so much easier to weigh yourself naked first thing in the morning. You don't have to worry about how heavy your clothes are compared to last week or how much food you just had ect... Owell, thank goodness it is just once a week. I just wish I had a morning WI.
I am in btween my "Fat" bras and my "skinny" bras. Fat ones support nothing right now (cups too big), but skinney ones still cut off circulation a bit (straps are tight). Nope, not buying new ones. A few more weeks and I will fit comfy into the skinny ones. Sports bras for excericising, none at home and suffer while I am out. lol Jen that is so cute about you and hubby. |
Kate, you did wonderful, I saw your results on another thread. Woo hoo! I lost 2.2 lbs.
|
thank you flower you did great too !!!!! go us :encore:
yeah was a great day today, i lost 4.4lbs at the weigh in. then i went with my sister-in-law (she lost 2.2lbs) to some yard sales and i found a portable dishwasher for $20 nearly new, it was so clean and works amazingly, the funny part about this is i was $20 dollars away from saving for a $499 model (the same one i got for $20) so now i have $450 towards the next thing on our "we would like" list and thats atv's wooo ;) i called my mum in england and she lost 6lbs, then i called mother-in-law and she lost 2lbs, with everyone doing weight watchers, i think it would be very hard to quit this time. so between the 4 of us we lost 14.6lbs this week ! kate |
Kate and FLower you guys are doing great!
Altho I don't weigh until monday this week I'm maintaining Kate I want that dishwasher :D thats awesome! OK back to work I'm calling European companies and Europe closes at 11 EST |
Kate, how wonderful for the family. It must be great to have so many people you know and love do it with you. And that dishwasher you found, great baragain! I am sure you were on cloud 9 all day with that find.
I am going to Pixar studios tomorrow near SF. We are leaving this afternoon so I can visit IKEA and do some shopping. Have a great OP weekend and I will see you all on Sunday. I hope where ever we end up eatting has a tasty healthy menu. But I think I know how to order okay anyways. :D |
oh flower how exciting, i hope you have an amazing trip ! you'll have to tell us what cartoon they are working on now !
kate |
Flower - Have a great time. I would love to come along!!
Kate - HOW SUPER FABULOUS!! You (and your family) are doing AWESOME! *cheerleader Jen* Go girrrllllllsss--- go girrrrrlllllsss--- On that note, a couple weeks ago my Princess Emma told me that when she grows up she wants to be a cheerleader. Oh My!!! I was a cheerleader in Jr High so I showed her some "moves", now she thinks she is super cool. I am so NOT a cheerleader type, so it makes us laugh!!! OK, doing lots of follow up work and suffering from a stinking huge headache that neither Zyrtec or tylenol has been able to cure!!! |
Hello Ladies,
Is it alright to join your group? I'm new to WW, but have been on the 3FatChicks site for a couple years. Im into my second week at WW, doing the points and loving it! Lost 6.6 lbs and this is with being bad with all the birthdays. Ill wait to give more info till I get the green light on joining...*smile ps Flower go to Walmart,,sewing dept. You will find a bra extender, that way you can wear those skinny bras without the pinching. |
Angie - of course you can post here. There are no limits as to who can post. We are always welcoming new people to keep this place hopping!!
We took the girls to the pumpkin patch today (and apple orchard). We picked a big bag of apples and the girls got to each find a pumpkin. They had fun and the weather was beautiful. Oh and the apples taste AWESOME!!! Welcome newbies and have a great weekend. |
angie - welcome !
jen - sounds like you had an awsome day ! friday was not good, its really turned cool here, its really fall weather, and that just kicks something in my mom instincts, to bake and cook, so friday i made homemade pizza, (i have the most awsome recipe for pizza crust if anyone wants it, but its not ww friendly) and ate 4 pieces !!!! :?: i ended up having to throw away the last few pieces so i wouldn't eat them !! so then i baked cookies with my kids, and ate a couple of those too. i'm totally in my danger area, this is where i usually quit diets after the second week. but .... today the ww wagon came by and i jumped back on it !!!! so yey for me, i'm so proud that i'm back on the plan instead of just quitting. kate |
Yah Kate - don't let one flub up day ruin your goal! Kiss it goodbye and move on!!! OH and I would love your recipe. I am a homemade pizza junkie. I usually switch between 3 different recipes... one is a WW one. I will find it and post it for you. The recipe make 2 crusts that are 8 points each!
I am sleepy and thinking of hitting the sack soon. The girls crashed, they were so tired and crabby from the day. Tomorrow afternoon there is a picnic for Emma's school. Pot luck is no good with me. Helpppppp. |
ok here it is, remember this is NOT a low point/low cal recipe !!!!
3 1/2 cups flour 1 cup warm water 1 packet active dry yeast 2 tbs honey or 3 tbs maple syrup 1/4 cup oil 1/2 tsp salt throw in a bread machine on dough cycle. |
Um, I might be jumping the gun but I got 2 positive pregnancy tests today! Why didn't anyone tell me I just had to join WW, diet andexcersice like crazy and a month later I would get pregnant, I would have done it 2 years ago! lol
|
Yah flower - Were you trying to get PG or is this a surprise??? You just came to our thread, don't tell me you are leaving already!!!!
I went to the picnic and oops-ed on the food. I ate too much, but I am not eating anything else tonight and I really didn't eat that much today. And no soda at the picnic!!!! That's it for me. I will check in here tomorrow and see how you all are doing! It is great how many posts we get in a week. It used to be sooooo quiet here! |
omg flower !!!! congratulations !!!!!!
no biggie jen, thats what flex points are for  kate |
Jen, we have wanted #4 for almost 4 years now. I miscarried last fall. They blamed my thyroid for the miscarriage. Hopefully I won't have the same problem this time. We did the fertility drugs for a good part of this year. In July I decided to stop that and then this past month I said I would concentrate on getting fit and forget ttc until I hit 175. Well, guess the universe has a wierd sence of humor. I am obviously not gonna be able to "diet" but there is no reason for me to go away, I have to keep the healthy eatting an every day thing. And I am gonna keep with my walking. :D
|
Thank you Ladies for the warm welcome!
I will be sure to fill out the bio. Congrats Flower! Eating healthy and walking during PG is great for both you and baby. Well so much for skinny bras! Being from Canada we just celebrated Thanksgiving today and feeling pretty full. I swear I ate 50 points of pumpkin pie *arghh I doubled up on salad, and other veggies. Didn't eat bread, but had mashed pots with turnips, with gravy. I did save points for the pumpkin pie...I think I ate my total points for the whole day in one sitting! Anyone ever do that? |
