  • Goodmorning Ladies!

Wowsers, when it rains it POURS! My boyfriend just got fulltime at one of his jobs, and then his other job turns around and offers him fulltime too! One is definitely has a better offer, and so he has a huge decision on his hands. It's been hard on me too, just because the one job is offering him a daytime job (he's been working nights for 4.5 years) and a 4 dollar an hour raise. It seems silly he would take the other company up on their offer considering a 4 dollar an hour raise is very impressive! But he called me from work (at 5:30am, an hour before I was to get up), and told me he's going to go with the job that is currently paying him less. I just don't understand boys! It's going to take him almost 2 years to work up to be making the amount the 1st company is currently offering him, but in the end (we are talking 2-3 years) the 2nd company has a higher cap rate (23 dollars/hr vs. 17.75). GAH! I'm confused, I mean, I really really really want my boyfriend back, and I can't believe with his new decision I'm still not going to be spending time with him. As it is right now he gets weekends off, but I always always work weekends. I just needed to vent, on paper he is doing the wrong thing, but in his mind he really believes he's making the right decision. It was nice though, to go to sleep last night thinking about the possibility of having a "normal" life.. like getting up at the same time.. eating dinner together, and not spending all my time alone anymore. Okay! I'm done!!

So whats new? I'm having issues with this dieting thing, yesterday I made myself a nice lunch, and ended up buying chilli instead. But I do have that healthy lunch waiting at work for me today.. How do you guys stay motivated? I got on my scale this morning and it's saying I'm UP 4 pounds! How? I have been so good with my points all week! I've even cut back on my pop, which I'm totally addicted to.. I am just babbling so I'm going to go hop in the shower... ttyl

  • Anyway, I raked for an hour after work yesterday (I had to stop, I bought 5 yard waste bags and discovered it wasn't enough). I love the smell of the leaves in the fall, I love the smell of fall in general. We have been blessed with great weather here too.

I then ran and had so much energy. I also made a really good spaghetti sauce last night too and froze some for next week (anyway I can make my life easier I take). Tonight will be WI (just before TOM as well, but I'll be okay).

    Hi Aimee!

    Hope everyone is doing well,

    Ali
  • Aimee: I try and use every part of me to stay motivated. I look at my progress and how far I have come. Chili isn't too bad though so I wouldn't fret. Have you considered changing to diet soft drinks? They're at least almost zero cal... As for you BF, he has to figure out what is best for him even if it doesn't make sense to us. Perhaps you can tell him how you feel though and ask him if working nights are worth it to him. My BF is in high tech but is debating teacher's college. High tech pays better, but teaching is more stable and has better conditions (well union protection and what not, not from the teens usually.)

    Take care!

  • I miss fall, in Vancouver we do get fall, but its wet, so no crunchy leaves. The falls in Winnipeg may have been short, but they were so beautiful. I miss it!

Ali - I have considered diet soft drinks, but I'm allergic to aspartame, and the new diet drinks seem to aggrivate my IBS. But I've cut back to maybe half a bottle (the 500 ML ones) a day. As for the work thing, I know he will do whats right for him, but I just think he's not thinking it through properly. The only reason I say this is because he's going to have to work 2 jobs for the next 2-3 years, and even then there is no promise that he will be making enough for him to quit one job. Also the fact that he's worked for the one company for almsot 5 years and is only making 10.75 and hour, and JUST JUST got promoted to full time? granted it's a union.. and they had to wait for the contract to come up or for someone to quit for him to move up.. it's just.. annoying! And while I'd love to talk to him about it, I know that at this point all he needs is my support, i've told him a few times which company is better for him, but he's already made up his own mind. Anyways, I am off to work, have a great day,a nd thanks for listenign to me

  • Hey girls! Just a quick note to let you know I am around. I am having a **** -week at work - just super busy and it's ramping up to another marathon busy time!! Oh well. Eating wise I've been pretty good, and working out really good - I went to the gym on Sunday and had a good walk last night with the dog. Tonight I plan on the gym again.

Hopefully there will be some results on Friday.

Aimee - it's prob water weight. Maybe measure your portions this week to make sure you are indeed eating the right servings of everything, or re-visit your WW material! I know sometimes men-folk don't see the same values we do. My DH is the same - his job is underpaying and overworking him but he loves the people, so he stays...

Ali- good for you you are totally rocking with the running thing! Raking? We are shovelling!! It's nuts here. Finally the snow is melting a bit. But there is still lots.

    Well, must run, TTFN!
  • Aimee: well this fall has been awesome this year, warm and mostly sunny so it's been great and I have been taking advantage of it. I remember 2 years ago when it went from 28C on my bday (Oct 2) to like a high of below 10C the next day. That was a cool fall with early permanent snow . I have a feeling it was be a winter full of precipitation this year... last year it was just freezing all the time!

Belle: Nope, our fall has been warmer than usual. I hope you don't go too nuts at work!! Enjoy the gym tonight!

    Cheers!

  • Hey Girls
DH and I had that charity thing last night
While I looked STUNNING! ( too totally toot my own horn) the ppl were soo wierd!
I love dogs (it was a dog thing) but damn not too the point these ppl did
but I made some good contacts
DH drank a bit too much so i had to hold on tight to him as we were walking to the train station so he wouldn't hug any more large men on the street (UGH)
Then we were approached by a man who wanted to do business aka a potential mugger I scared the SH!T out of him I don't think he ever had a white girl in a scooter style wheelchair yell back the F off before he ran away
we eventually got home tho so that was good
food/drink wise at the party i was good I had 2 drinks and 2 waters and 4 hor d'oevres

Aimee you have to chock it up to male logic (which defies all sense generally) was the chili greasy? if not you're in the clear its totally water weight
Ali I love the smell of Fall whats in your spaghetti sauce?
Belle I'm giving you a long distance shoulder rub to survive the week (my hands are also known as magic fingers) you have been great with exercise lady!
