Good morning. Thought that I would start a new page.

Pretty quiet here, Scott isn't up yet. Enjoying my quiet time. Stayed up for a while last night and watched the movie Billy Elliot. Was pretty good, but had a bit of a hard time understanding the accents. We've rented a few movies the last couple of days to keep Scott entertained.

Have a good day everyone.

PJ: Hope you are successful with your problem. Since I actually stayed at your house, I can't imagine how you have put up with all those extra people for the last while. I mean...where did you put them all. You have a lovely home and I can see why they like staying with you. But I mean enough is enough and the bloom is off the rose, it's time for them to go. You have done more than your share. It must have been so hard for you and Bill and the kids. Hope it works out well. You had the best intentions, it's unfortunate they didn't realize that, and instead choose to take advantage of your good nature.

Default Hi there!

Gee, so nice to be here at this time of day with NOONE in the house. Yippeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! Heh-heh. I told Christine on the phone this morning that they had to get their own place. She refused to listen to me when I told her I wanted to talk to BOTH her and Michael when they got home so I just told her like it is on the phone. Wasn't hard at all. Michael actually chickened out. I was out on the patio when she called him on his cell phone (I heard it ring, I guess they think I'm deaf as well as dumb) and she must have told him. I specifically asked her to PLEASE have him talk to me before he left for work. COWARD!!!!!!!!
Anyway, thanks for the support everyone. I'm still going to need it for tonight when they get home.....whenever that is. Once again I'll have the kids until they DO show up after work. I do feel bad about the kids but geez, they're not mine! My daughter Jackie doesn't even want to come home when they're here. Ok......sorry guys, enough about this.
I'm doing very well.....actually great! with my weight. I've been taking the slim-fast SOY drink for breakfast or whenever I don't have time for something decent and I've been so busy that I have gotten quite a bit of exercise in.
Hey Brenda and Penny - A friend of mine has a 14 stall barn which her husband let "go" for about a year (they're now divorced) and all it needs is cleaning up. Air-conditioned office and all. Concrete aisle, running water in each stall and DIRT ground in each stall as well. They've also got 6 paddocks and several turnout rings. I told her she was sitting on a gold mine! She knows nothing about horses. She's an RN and waitresses pt as well trying to make ends meet with 4 teenagers. Anyway, I told her she wouldn't have to work so hard if she just got that barn together. There are LOTS of show people around here who would just kill to have a covered arena to ride in down here in the summer heat. So, here goes another adventure. Not for a couple of months though. I told her her teenage boys need to do some cleaning up first and that's not "my thing". Heh-heh.....anyway, I'm thrilled because I'll be the main instructor and Jackie can board and ride for free and I'll be giving her lessons. I've wanted to get back into this for so long and now that I can FINALLY fit back into my chaps......I just might REALLY get back into riding again myself.

You all seem to be doing well with your WW and that just keeps me going too. It's such a pleasure for me to come here and "see" you all.

Susan - Talk about a blast from the past. I know we IM'd eachother but to FINALLY see you on here is great. I hope you're feeling well today.

To the rest of you....have a great OP day.....drink that water and I'll "see" you later.
Hugs,
~Pamela~

Default Hi Everyone!

Well I figured I better copy my last post over here so you will know what I am talking about.

Here it is,

This is sooooo Gross!!

We got up this morning and Brianna kept saying her belly was sore and asking me if she had a sunburn on her belly, well I didn't see anything so I continued to get ready for work. She came running into the bathroom while I was doing her hair and she said she had a tick in her belly button and low and behold she does, Yikes!! I was brave for her and let her think it was no big deal but I hate those things so much I just want to cringe. Anyway I can't get it out with tweezers so I got her a doctor's appt for 9am so I will stay home and go with her. They told me to save the tick if I got it out because it is probably a deer tick because of its small size so they have to check it for disease, I am so scared but know it will probably be okay. I have to say though, Brianna is being oh so brave, she is my child that absolutely hates bugs and spiders and stuff, she is totally terrified of them and to have this thing attatched inside her belly button, well I would freak if it was me. She is doing very well but she says it hurts which I am sure it does. Well I will let you guys know how it goes.

Brenda

Okay now for the update, The doctor was able to remove all of the tick except a little tiny piece that she thought would work its way out on it's own, the belly button is a very hard place to remove something because the skin keeps squishing in when she tried to get it. Anyway, it was a deer tick and she said I have to watch for symptoms of lyme disease so I am a bit worried but she said the tic probably wasn't infected with the disease.

SueBee, you don't have to bump the thread up, it is now stuck and will stay in the top active threads, even if we hadn't stuck it yet it would not go down very far. Tara or I will usually stick something like that as soon as we see it, and I will go and unstick the old one.

PJ, I am so happy for you girl, wow what an opportunity, now I wish I lived down near you so I could join in the fun and ofcourse the work. Wow, that is a fantastic opportunity and it will sure brighten up your outlook on life and your Jackie will be thrilled, has she ever ridden before? Keep us informed on how things go tonight with your house"guests" gosh they just sound sooooo awful, give it to them good girl and be firm, they have taken advantage of you for way too long.

Later Everyone,
Brenda

I hate testing kids.

Bren, I emailed you a few days ago. Did you get it?

Pamela, we are hard core New Yorker's. Kick their A** out and do not allow them to use you. You were kind and it's time to be tough. Ya want me to come and beat them up for you?

Candice, I hope you are feeling better soon. Maybe the massage would relax you and take away some of the pain? Or does touch hurt? No, I don't teach during the summers. I'd rather die!

Emmy, how absolutely wonderful to see you! I hope you are doing well.

Penny, I'm glad you are sticking to program. I went to an OA meeting a long time ago. Someone had to wear a pig mask if they did the worst. Do they do that at your meetings?

Susan Dairy Queen is my weakness. I don't think you did badly at all.

Tara, how ya doin sweetie?

Sue, I live close to Illinois (st louis). Where in Il. are you moving to?

Have a good evening!

HI! I am here. Just been lurking - work has been hectic and I haven't been online as much at home for some reason. Busy busy time of year!!

My dad is back to doing nothing - and its wearing my mom down already! But I can see her frustration. He went to rehab for 6 weeks and he isn't any better. So what was all that for? She waits on him hand and foot and she gets really angry and then yells at him (and us). I keep telling her to let him do his own stuff - but she says "he can't" - well yeah I wouldn't do stuff either if I had someone doing it for me! Its very frustrating here. I mean I am torn - I want to be a nice daughter and help out - but then again he SHOULD be doing some stuff (not everything - but some) - and he is not. So my mom enables him to be lazy and then we have to do it too (me and my sister). Its not right. We are NOT helping him - but my mom is too stubborn to see that. She is convinced that he is an invalid. HE IS NOT! He is just being lazy. Yes he has a bad disease - BUT he has a walker to walk around with - and he still just sits in the living room all day and nite. (for the most part). Its just sad to see it this way - my dad being immobile and my mom being angry Its taking its toll on me. When did I become the parent! So I have been moody and distant around here. I am just not myself!

On a good note: I did lose 1.4lbs this week! I was very happy about that - believe you me. I am still tracking and even if I go over a bit (I do) I still track it. When I stop tracking - I do 100% worse. So its worth it to track the bad stuff as well as the good. Trust me!

I am taking Paul away for his 28th birthday on Sunday! His actual birthday is Thursday 5/3 - but we are going to go to Foxwoods Casino for 2 nites starting Sunday - we will be home on Tuesday the 1st of May. He loves to go there - we play blackjack - and we do well. Last year I took him and I won like $700 - it was so exciting! And since he is a hard person to buy for - I am just going to treat him to 2 nites at the casino. Since we don't go down there too often (I am not a big gambler - I would rather SHOP!). I am planning to do well - I will bring my tracker and TRACK the whole time. I can do good while away - I just have to be creative. I am bringing some good snacks too - to have on hand. And I will drink a TON of water. Hopefully I will have a loss next week - I am planning on it!

Brenda - Oh gee what an ordeal with your daughter today! I hope she is ok - you too! Hopefully its not a problem - just keep watching it - like the doctor said. I will say a prayer for you guys!! How is your job going??

SueBee - How goes the struggle for you? Any better these days?

PJ - {{{HUGS}}} Like you need all this stress! I mean you helped your friend out when she was down and out and this is the way she treats you! I am disgusted - me and Judy are coming down to kick some ***! Just tell her her time is up! You can only be so nice to people. I wish you luck - STAND YOUR GROUND!!!

Judy - How are you doing? You re-joined WW - right? How is it going? How is Steve and the boys? Isn't your son graduation from high school this year?

Hi to everyone else I missed!!

Well I have to get some stuff done before Friends comes on at 8pm - so I am off.

Have a good nite - and tomorrow is Friday!! TGIF!

Default Hi There!!

I have had a really busy day today, all that stuff with Bree, then about 3 hours at the DMV, you know how that place can be. Then I went to my sisters garage to go through a bunch of my stuff, we are having a yard sale in a couple weeks and I figured it was a good time to go through some stuff. I got alot of it accomplished but still have more to do.

Tara, Great job on the 1.4 gone, Yippee!! That is Way cool! Keep up the good work. Thanks for the prayer, I am not really worried about it, she said even if she comes down with lyme disease, as long as it is caught early it is totally curable. The doc also said that the tic has to be attatched atleast 24 hours to spread the disease and I feel it wasn't anymore than19 or 20 hours, because it had to be after school yesterday which is around 3:30 and we had it out this morning by 10am. It could have been on her earlier but I doubt it.

JudyGal, I did not get the e-mail, actually I have been having problems with my e-mail the last few days but it is all fixed now(I hope) so re-send it if you don't mind, I would love to read and respond to it.

Setina Girl, where are you?? Now you know I am a worrywort and I am starting to worry about you. Please pop in and just say hi or something.

See Ya Everyone
Bren

Hi Ladies,

Had a great weather day here 65 and sunny didn't think I would ever see it again.

Judy - No there is no pig mask, are you sure you are not thinking of something else. In my opinion that would be cruel beyond belief and would not join in. The group I have been to is very supportive and always just there to listen and to share. Seems to be helping me. I am finally feeling better about things. So I am hopeful.

PJ - Want me to come kick some butt!!!!!!! I have been doing my Tae-bo you know!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
Off with them and smile while your doing it!!!
I did not know you were a horse person. What kind of experience to you have???

Tara - I don't blame you for feeling bad about your mom and Dad thats got to be tough. Even if your mom won't you really ought to try to get Dad to do for himself if he wants something bad enough he will try. I know from experience, if you do to much they do get lazy then they lose the will and you don't want that. Good Luck

I hope everyone else is doing well, I will be back soon

Good evening everyone...Had a busy day, so just now getting online. I was called in to substitute today. I actually got to teach in my daughter's class (1st grade). It is a really fun class. There is one boy in the class who is autistic, that I've worked individually with many times. His paraprofessional was called out a lot today, but luckily he doesn't seem to freak out with me. I guess since he knows me by now.

I left the one job that I had working from home on the computer. In fact I think the company is about to file bankruptcy. I started taking on more substitute teaching and absolutely loving it. I teach just in my kids two schools. (One is kindergarten and first grade - the other is second through fifth grade.) Luckily the my kids are still young enough to not mind having mom around in their schools. I also do a lot of special education and services which has been my favorite. I think as a sub, it is easier, because you don't have to have a full-time responsibility, yet can pretty much pick and choose the days and classes that you want to work. I get called almost everyday, but that would be too much. I try to keep it at 3 to 4 days a week. It also keeps me on a more normal eating schedule, instead of snacking all day around the house.

Brenda...I sure hope it turns out alright...at least it sounds like you find out about it soon enough. The days can always be a challenge, that is for sure.

PJ....I sure hope they finally listened to you. You were so wonderful to help them out when you needed, but are they sure took advantage at this point. Too bad I didn't move down their where I could come and help you "MOVE" them out.

Tara...I know we haven't talked for awhile. I'm sorry things haven't worked out better with your dad after rehab. It can be one of the hardest things to deal with, and then unfortunately your safe haven of home becomes stressful. Hang in there. Have a good time at the casino. Hopefully you'll do better at black jack than I did in Las Vegas two weeks ago. I think I just barely broke even, but it was fun and nice just getting away after the stressful winter.

Judy....I'll be moving right outside of Peoria. I'm sure we'll be in the St. Louis area different times since we like to get away down there for a long weekend a couple of times a year. And, after seeing what teachers go through, I can understand the need to get away from teaching for a couple of months to get refreshed for the next year's class. I'm at least fortunate that the Pekin schools my kids need want to pick me up as a substitute also. I guess they are very short-handed.

Emmy, Suebee, and everyone else I missed....thanks for the welcome back. It really feels good to be back "home" again. This is definately a great place for support.

Have a great Friday everyone.

Susan

Hi girls.

Penny, it really was OA and it was in Indianapolis in 1983. I went once and never went back. I went right after I had Michael. I am so happy to know that they don't do that anymore. I'm so happy that you have a supportive group. That's the most important thing. I didn't realize you were going to Hawaii. That is SOOOOOOOOO cool! You'll be at goal, I just know you will.

Bren I didn't save the email. I'll try to remember what I wrote.

Tara I rejoined WW almost 2 weeks ago. I lost 3 lbs the first week and weigh in on Saturday. The boys are doing well. Mike graduates on May 26th and just took a job at Toys-R-Us. Matt is thriving and very involved in soccer. Steve is not doing so well. And you and I can certainly kick some *** for Pamela!

Sue, you stayed at PJ's house? Is she a good housekeeper? hehehehe!

Susan, all you have to do is call or email and we can meet sometime. That would be wonderful.

Hey PJ, those two better watch out because the owls are all getting their feathers ruffled up. Maybe you should just show them this thread and that will scare them off, LOL Tell them if they need a good ole ***-kicking to come on up and bring it on. I think us owls would deal with them nicely.

JudyGal, I will look around and see if that e-mail got deleted or something, the kids have been on the puter alot lately, or maybe it just went into cyberspace like all the others, LOL

Susan, it seems like your job is very rewarding for you. I am glad you have found something that makes you happy.

Penny, How long have you been doing the tae bo? I used to do it and really need to start getting back into it. It was alot of fun and I really enjoyed it. It was one heck of a workout too.

See ya everyone

HI NightOwls....I hope you don't mind an intruder in your nest. I just had to do a "fly-by" to encourage PJ to DO IT!!
I got back into riding last summer after not being around a horse for 15 years and it's the BEST thing I've ever done for myself. Hands down!! .....hooves down?...hee-hee... I lurk on the 3FC boards a lot and there are just those times when I feel like I have to butt in if I feel like it might help or encourage someone, (i.e. "give back" to the boards that help me so much!) so I hope this gets you back in those chaps! You'll be glad you did!

Default Hi Owls!

Worked in the yard a little today.......so much to do and just don't have the strength Any of you feel weak when you are losing weight?

Bren.........About Lyme Disease I was dianosed with late stage lyme in 91 and on IV antibiotics for 6 months and oral for two years! I had too stop taking them cause it was hurting my liver! So I will have symptoms the rest of my life! ( The Lyme is what brought the Fibro on they think!) It can be transmitted earlier than 24 ours too and it is not always curable no matter how early you catch.so just watch for a circle shape rash( not always present) and flu like symptoms or anything strange! This is not a fun Disease!!!!!!!!

Gotta run........well I mean get some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's

Good Morning!

I went to get my blood taken this morning (to check my thyroid and cholesterol) - man am I glad THAT is over! I am not very fond of giving blood. I do it because I have to - you would never catch me doing it otherwise!! I can't look - I hate blood and needles.....ICK!

And I was starved! I just had a bagel with light cream cheese. YUM!! I had to fast for 12 hours. Which isn't terrible - but I usually eat around 7:45am at home - and I didn't eat until 9:15am this morning. But I am full now I was more thirsty than anything!

Bren - How is Bree this morning? Good luck at your yard sale!! We just threw out a bunch of junk from my basement and I was telling my mom that we could have had one big old yard sale with it all. But we opted to junk it.

Penny - Glad OA is working out well for you! I have a friend that goes and she loves it too. I know its really tough at home. I feel bad too. I want to be a nice daughter - but I am torn. He needs to do his own stuff. I find myself distancing myself from the house more and more. That is how I am dealing with it now. Staying in my room alot too. Its hard for me.

Susan - I forgot you were going to Vegas!! I am glad you had a good time - you deserve it. And yeah its not easy at home. I am dealing with it the best that I can. I just wish my mom would get a clue. But that is not happening.

Candice - I don't think you should feel weak - are you eating enough? Drinking water? Oh and to answer your question from before I got a Gateway in January. I love it! What kind did you get this time around?

I have to run - busy busy here. I probably won't be back until next week. I am off on Sunday to the casino.

Have a great OP weekend!

Hi There,

Tara, I hate getting blood taken too, glad it is all over for you. Be sure to let us know how the results turn out. Yes, a yard sale is alot of work but we have always talked about having one so we might as well do it now. Our town is doing a town wide yardsale day and for 15 bucks they put your house on the days yardsale map that they will pass out to everyone so it seems like a good time. I just finished brushing and dressing about 60 barbie dolls, we are going to sell them all for $2 each and they each have a nice outfit on. I allready have a girl at work who wants 5 of them and I am going to bring in a bag of them because other people are interested in them too, there might not be many of them left for the yardsale, LOL! My mother and I are doing it together and splitting the money. The girls and I will put away our half for taking a trip to 6 flags the first week of july when my work shuts down.

Candice thanks for sharing that with me, gosh I sure hope she doesn't have it, she is such a sweet little thing. How long does it take the rash to show up, do you know? They couldn't get a small piece out and it is getting real red so I think they are gonna have to get it out. She goes to the doctor again on Tuesday.

Alley-oop, join right in any time you want. We always welcome new owls into the nest. It will be nice to get to know you a bit.

See Ya Everyone

Brenda
