Hi,

Sis, it's good to hear from you. Make sure that you have some fun while you are working so much. We miss you.

Tammy, I'm not sure why that guy still has a job!!!! How many more years do you have? I know you are counting! :)

Seamus took the milk great! They upped his feedings to 2 cc's every 3 hours and if he does well with it, it will increase to 3 cc's tomorrow. It's through a tube and I got to hold it today. He had a spinal tap last night since he has been sick. The preliminary results came back clear. Thank goodness!!! They are going to wean his steriods over the next 9 days. Hopefully he will stay healthy and have not problems from them. His ventilator settings are coming down some too. We have a ways to go with that but at least it's a start. I'll be glad when he is off of it all together.

Susan, That's great news about Seamus.
For some reason, I didn't get notified of your post. I would've responded sooner.
My kitty is feeling some better. However, they are going to do a sonogram of his little heart to see how much damage the hyperthyroidism did. He still has his heart murmur. I don't like taking him to a different animal hospital and leaving him for the test.

Everyone have a great Monday.

Hi everyone, Happy Tuesday!

Susan, how wonderful to hear about Seamus' improvement. Our prayers continue for you and the family.

Tina, best wishes for the test today. I hope everything will turn out just fine.

Welcome to all newcomers!

I'm managing to keep up with the exercise but so far no movement on the lbs. this week. I'm been using the Weight Commander software to track progress, anyone else use it and find it useful?

Sis 08-25-2004 03:51 PM

Thats wonderful about Seamus, Susan! He and you all will continue to be in my prayers.
Glad you're kitty is doing ok also Tina. I love cats too. :)
Hope everyone is doing great here. Hey, we're halfway thru the work week. That's a plus.
Have a wonderful day and rest of the week....Sis :D

Hi everybody: I am glad to see that everyone is doing good.
Yesterday I went to the meeting to get the scoop on the new program.
The points part is basically the same, except the flex points are now called an allowance.
The core plan is fruits and vegetables, lean meats, skim milk (&products) and whole grains (no bread). Any thing else is allowance points. It is a very good diet if you can eat this way, but I don't think its an easy one if you like to do the drive through, or are a bread eater.
I'm going to stick with my points, they are working good for me.
They are distributing new materials for the next 12 weeks, and have redisigned the Quick trak booklet, and that is much improved.
I am guessing that for the next 12 weeks we will be going throught the booklets so that will be good for me.
Susan I am so happy for you and seamus. It is wonderful news.

Hi All,
Susan--you and Pat and Seamus are continually in our prayers.

We got good news about our cat. His heart is fine. It's funny that he had an ultrasound just like humans. At least, it didn't cost as much.
Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts. He just needs to continue taking medicine for his hyperthyroidism.

I tried the Core Program today. I like the Points better.

Good luck at weigh-in tomorrow.

How was everyone's Thursday?????
I went the whole day without a caffeinated drink. I had 2 cf diet Cokes.
And, I ate Core Program foods today. It was pretty easy. I don't know how I'll do every day. You have to count extra points for breads. Booooo For pastas, you have to use whole grains. Those are hard to find in my grocery stores.

I hope I've lost some water retention today. I'll let y'all know.

How is everyone doing?

Happy Friday night!!! :):):)
I've been solidly on the Core Program for two days now and I'm liking it.

Mimi, how are you doing???? I understand that using the Points is more of a structure. That's what my husband likes. He wouldn't do well having to stop when he was satisfied.
How are your sons?

Tammy, are you ready for school? Do you have anything going on this weekend? How is Tim? Will he stop working when school starts?

Sis, are you feeling good now? I know you must be tired with all your working? Is your daughter ready to return to school to see her friends?

Maureen, we haven't heard from you in some time.

Lisa, EasterGoal, Stacey, Sarah, I wish y'all would post this weekend.

Hi y'all: Yes counting the points is one thing that helps me keep my appetite under control. We had ww pasta last night with turkey and bean salad. I like the ww pasta better than the regular, but then I don't like pasta much anyhow, but the boys are pretty so/so about it. The core program is a very healthy way to eat and I guess it is something to strive for, it doesn't allow for much take out or fast food whick is great if you have the time to do a lot of shopping and cooking. Let us know how it goes for you though.
The boys are doing good, one more week of summer holidays left, but it is back to work for me tomorrow.
I will try to check in a little more often.
Mimi

Tammy 08-30-2004 07:00 AM

Hi all!! Things have been too busy to be on here much at all.
This is the first day of school. It's supposed to be less humid today, so I am thankful for that. I need to finish getting ready.

Tina, yes Tim will still be working 3 or 4 nights a week at Arby's. He's a busy kid, but he sure likes those paychecks!!

Tina 08-31-2004 01:11 PM

Hi All,
Can you believe that tomorrow is the first day of September!
So, I'm going to start our September thread. Come on over! :)
