Let's talk for a second about weight discrimination. I work in a building full of men. I've noticed that now that I've put on weight again, the number of visitors I've had has drastically decreased. I don't mind, particularly, because I have a lot of work to do and now I can do it undisturbed. And now I don't have to pretend to listen to their boring stories. At the same time, I'm offended. None of these guys is attractive, they're old, married, boring, and nerdy, so I find it particularly offensive that because I've gained weight, I'm no longer up to their standards. Have these guys never looked in a mirror before? Haven't they ever heard themselves talk before??
So, I've come a conclusion. When I lose weight again and they start cruising by my cubicle (which I can guarantee they will), I'm not going to waste the time chatting.
Now, there are several who have continued to visit despite the weight gain, and I think that says a lot for the kind of people that they are. And I shouldn't take it personally that those other guys don't bother with me anymore, but it's still hard on the ego.Have you guys experienced similar situations?
But, I'm happy to say that things are going well and I'm going to be successful again. I've accepted the fact that I'm not going to be able to skip the cookie at Subway when I work, so I've started planning for a Subway cookie twice a week. I hit the grocery store yesterday and did some damage, so I'm ready to do some healthy cooking, too. Tonight, I think I'll have veggie pizza--just cook a pizza crust, cover it with some light cream cheese and fresh veggies, maybe a little garlic salt. Tasty.
Belle--If you ever want to take up rubber stamping or scrapbooking to fill your time, I can help you out.

I could even come to Canada and write it off.

Seriously, though, bellydancing sounds really fun, and so does volleyball. I've always been too scared to join a league. In 5th grade, we were playing volleyball in PE and the PE teacher was yelling at me because I didn't know how to serve, so I did my best and knocked it right into the basketball hoop. I made a basket, but it ended my volleyball career for good.

Is there anyplace near you that offers non-credit courses or anything like that? That might be a good place to find something to keep you busy.
Jen--Sorry to hear that you're so busy, but I bet Circus World will be a great stress reliever for you and the kiddos. Take an elephant ride for me (if adults can).
OK, I'm going to see about getting some work done. See ya!
