Welcome to the 20s WW-Thread all are welcome for support and friendship of our happy bunch :D

Morning All,

I had a dang gain!!! I have never gained before (well on WW ;) ) and I definately did not overdo the calories or the points. I started the pill last week though, so maybe that has something to do with it. I know I am whining, but I am so close to goal this is frustrating.

Also I decided to move to Ottawa after not hearing about a job I applied for months ago in Montreal; THEY CALLED ME WEDNESDAY MORNING, basically offering it to me (with an interview, but they kept telling me I'd make a wonderful person for the job and I spoke impeccable french back to them as well, which is rare since I have a tendancy to get toungue tied)., but I had to decline.

So I am a little grumpy right now, I also have truck loads of work to do and i keep craving bad foods. I haven't really given in, but I keep getting cravings for ultrasweet carbs (I am going to the gym later and they sell 3 point vegan muffins which are yummy).

Have a fabulous long weekend to all of you!

Ali

Friday the 13th!!

How freaky that Friday the 13th is also Good Friday!
Well, I ate my dinner of fried fish last night and paid the price!! My tummy was doing flip flops all night long!
It's still pretty tender. Sorry, TMI!

Is anyone at work today? The parking garage was pretty desitute this morning. That is a down side to working at a bank, we don't take religious holidays. But, we're working with a skeleton crew today, so maybe I can get some much needed work done.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day today. I'll definitely be back around later on.

Bye for now.

ps..Ali, don't let a gain get you down, I'm sure it's the pill, too. You're body doesn't know what to do with the added hormones. :)

Lolabooey 04-13-2001 09:54 AM

Ali It's the pill, definitely. But I understand that you'd be frustrated. Try not to let it get you down. My motto: "New week, new attitude!"
BTW, I was reading your post about getting weighted-in at a centre -- is there a centre in Sherbrooke? Are your meetings in English or French? Just curious...
Stacey hope your stomach is feeling better!

Happy Easter ladies!

Brenda N 04-13-2001 10:03 AM

I hope this day goes quickly!

Happy Friday! I really think I was OK last night. I’m thinking maybe I agree with Trish and my lunch was maybe 2 points lower than I thought, but I did have a few little snackies at my candle party last night. I did show pretty good control restraint though. Even though I don’t know exactly how to count it, I guestimated and I know I wasn’t over. It’s a good step in the right direction. Tomorrow will be hard b/c I have 2 candle parties. The Av’s won last night in a very exciting game. I only caught the last 10 minutes but it was good!

Ali: Don’t let it get you down! I’m sure it’s the BCP’s. It will just take some time to get used to it.

Stacey: Looks like it’s pretty quiet here too!

Lola: Hello!!

Come out and play everyone!

Jen-L 04-13-2001 10:28 AM

I am here also... but only until 12:00 noon! YAH ME. We are having breakfast at work... hardboiled eggs and coffee cake. I didn't eat anything at home so I could have some here. Maybe I ate too much, and tomorrow is WI! UCKKKK. But I passed on the juice so I saved points there!

I am upset that WI is tomorrow and today will be hard for me. At 12:00 I have to run and get Emma, then grab lunch... most likely fast food of some sort. Then run to church by 1:00.... But I can eat a lite dinner. I wish ohhhh wish I didn't have WI tomorrow... I hate having to skimp because of it. I am always petrified of a gain since I have been yo-yoing so much. I know I should just take it as it comes... but gaining is the pits!!! ( Ali I feel your pain!!!!)

Brenda... YAH on last night! You did awesome... every little step in the right direction counts!!

HEY SURVIVOR FANS... who thinks that the tribe is turning on Colby?? I do. I think they are seeing him as a threat... and he is getting awefully bossy! Pretty boy is going down!!!

Heeee heeeee, it is such a wicked game!!!

Have a great Easter everyone!!!!

momof4girls 04-13-2001 10:37 AM

mornin

Sorry that I can't post to everyone from yesterday. I did read the thread and I generally want to tell everyone thank you for your thoughts on my mom. I know there are a few others who have gone thru the same type of thing.

I had a semi ok day yesterday. I ate a total of 27.5 points. I figured I have been on the low side of my points the last few days, so I know I have some banked anyways....so I don't feel too bad about being higher....besides technically I am still within my range...and isn't it good to sort eat low the high then low and mix it around?

Ali: Your gain is SOOOO absolutly the pill! Don't let it discourage you, and keep at it...OMG you have lost so much! :)

Stacey: I hope you feel better soon. All the good choices you have made the fried stuff must have caught your tummy off guard.

Brenda: Good job at the candle party. I know how hard it is when good food is staring at me....That is when I have such a hard time saying no. You are doing great!

Jen: I think as soon as Colby looses an immunty challange is gone. I know I would be voting him off. He is pretty hot though ;) As for fast food.....go grab a 6 pt grilled chicken at Wendy's. :)

Have a great day all!

(hugs)
Angie

StaceyT 04-13-2001 10:40 AM

Ding Dong Colby's gone...

But, I don't know...he and Keith were going at it during the "scenes from next week" so maybe Keith is outtie.
I'm sick of him. He doesn't seem to pull with the group.

Ok, back to work. I'll "see" everyone later!

Lolabooey 04-13-2001 11:04 AM

Colby has the greatest teeth

But aside from that, I think that his number may be up. I think if he's going to last, he'll have to pull the Kelly strategy and win the rest of the immunity challenges. I also think that the production people will have to come up with an immunity challenge that isn't so much based on rote strength. My favorite is Elizabeth.

Jen-L 04-13-2001 11:05 AM

I really like Roger. In the beginning no one gave him credit.... but he is still there and I am proud of him! His tribe really pulled for him in the beginning... like helping him swim and finish that really hard obstacle course! GO ROGER!

I don't like Keith either... or Amber. She bugged me. Tina bugs me too because she whines a lot, but she may pull it out! I like Roger and Elisabeth! Those are my votes!!!

2 hours left for me! YAHHHHHH

I think hubby will be nice and take me out to a place I can get a decent lunch at. If I ask he will listen, he is very caring in that way!!!

Jen-L 04-13-2001 11:06 AM

Lola... we are thinking the same!!!

Lolabooey 04-13-2001 11:14 AM

Jen-L you know what they say about great minds... ;)

LoriD 04-13-2001 11:15 AM

I lost!!

Hey everyone-I just got back from WI-remember last week I was so sure I had lost and I gained? Well I'm down 3.2 this week! Whoo hoo! :spin:
But Ali, I feel your pain-last week I came very close to quitting-I was so discouraged. Your weight loss has been amazing-it's taken me twice as long to lose half as much-hang in there! You can do it!
Happy Friday the 13th to everyone, and Happy Good friday-I am off today-just stopped in at work for a few brief minutes...
I'm worried about this weekend-my running club is having a big event and I know the beer will be flowing...also, it's Easter and my mom is cooking a huge meal...I'm trying to be good and exersize a lot ahead of time...I really want to get a ten pound ribbon next week-only 1 pound away...

momof4girls 04-13-2001 11:16 AM

ok, this is what I think

(or at least what I want)

Colby (and I agree he has great teeth)

Keith

Tina (I really think she is a fake) :nono:

I LOVE Elisabeth and I SOOOO hope that she wins. I want Rodger to to in second. Not sure if that is possible or not....guess it all depends on who wins the immunity challanges.

Angie

Jen-L 04-13-2001 11:24 AM

OK, I just binged.... I have eaten 3 eggs and a cinnamon roll... SHAME ON ME. Hubby just yelled at me and I promised I wouldn't eat anymore. WHY DO I DO THIS THE DAY BEFORE WI?? And I kept telling myself NO, then the next thing I know, the food is in my mouth! UGGGHHHH.

OK I am over that now!

StaceyT 04-13-2001 11:53 AM

I'm the same way!

Jen: I feel your pain! I did that this morning with a Reece's Egg. I don't need it, and really didn't want it, but ate it anyway! Now I'm craving salty stuff.
Good golly, I just want this day to be over! It is soooo
long! oh well, I'd better get...

kimobi 04-13-2001 12:00 PM

Yay for Friday!

I'm sooo glad the weekend's almost here! What an exhausting week it's been. And this morning has started hectic. Some 17-year-old girl gave birth in a hotel toilet and police are involved. It's not clear what happened yet, but the baby is alive. See what I mean about never having a quiet Friday? I want to sleep! I went out last night and stayed out until 1, which I'm not used to on a weekday! Jeez, I'm starting to feel old.

Ali: Don't fret! Look how how well you've done! I can't believe this is the first time you've gained on WW. That's amazing. You've done so well! For the past two months I've been up and down and up and down. I envy you! What's your secret? :D (And I agree. I bet it was definitely the pill that caused the gain).

Lori: Great loss! Congrats!

Jen: I feel your pain, too!. Right now, for example, I'm really in the mood for bad food. Someone stop me! I need to find that willpower somewhere. Don't you all just hate obsessing about food all the time? That's what I feel. Like it's always on my mind. When I'm eating one meal, I'm already looking ahead to what I can have at the next. I guess this whole WW thing is really about learning to think different too.

OK, gals, I gotta run. See you later!

sbirdhr 04-13-2001 12:21 PM

happy Friday!!!

Hey eveyrone! I am in a much better mood than I was on Wednesday. I have been doing really well on WW this week (since Wed). I have eaten below my max and done tond of exercise. I still expect a gian this week but it won't be as bad as it could have been. It stopped raining yesterday and cleared up for me and DH to take a walk in the afternoon. I really want to plant tomorrow but I think it will be too wet since it rained again this morning. Argh!

Also, I did another assignment for school. Work is slow and I am pretty much alone at this client so I will try to get through a lot today. I still have until 4pm and would like to get at least 1 more big assignment done.

We are going out to dinner tonight to Copeland's. It is New Orleans food nad they have a lot of seafood. Has anyone been there? I checked their menu online and it appears that they have 2 lite options that sounds good. I will see tonight. I am going to the gym and WI before dinner tonight. Don't have any food plans for the weekend - we still don't know what we are doing for Easter- so I don't know what challenges to expect. Am looking forward to DH starting WW on Monday :D

I hope everyone has a very happy Easter and a nice weekend. Best to all!

I just read a review of BJ.... and although it got rave reviews... they said that Renee was not there personal first choice... they would have liked to see Minnie Driver. I agree, I love Minnie!!!!

Just wanted to add that in!

Happy Easter Everyone... I am done in 5 minutes

StaceyT 04-13-2001 01:30 PM

tick tock

Kim: How awful about that girl giving birth!! Makes me sad thinking about it!

Sarah: That's really neat that your DH is joining WW!! I kind of wish my fiance would take the initiative, but if he would just get active, then he would lose his "belly"

Jen: I agree...Minnie would have been great! I love watching her in movies! But, you know, I see Renee as more disjointed and clumsy...kind of like BJ. Minnie is really graceful. But, she can act clumsy I guess!

Well my sis just got here so I'm going to eat lunch now!

Ciao!

Brenda N 04-13-2001 01:43 PM

This day is dragging!

OK, today not going so well. I had doughnuts for breakfast and then someone got me hot apple cider b/c my throat is sore again. Should have just made hot tea. Ah, well, what’s done is done. I may have to just eat some 1 point popcorn for lunch so I can do dinner, and maybe a beer for happy hour with my hubby too!

Jen: I think Colby might be next b/c he keeps winning the prizes/immunity challenges and the others would like a chance at them. On the other hand, he’s the healthiest/strongest right and that is an asset. I haven’t actually seen the show in weeks but have been following it on the internet site www.survivor.cbs.com I know where you are coming from. It’s very hard to turn down food when it’s calling to you and begging you to eat it. I had to laugh when you said hubby was yelling at you. I got this great mental picture of him trying to pull it out of your hand and you trying to desperately put it in your mouth  I think we all have been there!

Angie: Thanks for the encouragement. Food at parties is VERY hard, especially when there’s dessert!

Lola: I’m starting to think that maybe Elisabeth is going to win in the end. I like her.

Lori: Wow!! Congrats on your loss! Do you realize you are way more than halfway there? Only 22 pounds left to lose! That’s nothing :p Keep up the good work. I know you can get through the weekend successfully :D

Kim: I too feel like I’m constantly thinking about food, how much water I’ve drank, the fact that I should be exercising. I don’t know if it will ever change, but that’s OK b/c we’ll be doing it the rest of our lives. We just have to learn to treat all of those thought differently. I know we can do it!

Sarah: I think it’s so cool that your DH is joining with you. I’ve told mine to join w/me, but he has the discipline to go to the gym and work out on weights. He really doesn’t want to lose, he just wants to move the weight around. Chest, arms, legs etc. It does help though b/c he’s eating more healthy foods so there’s not constantly pizza and Taco Bell in my face! You’ll do great on dinner and at WI. Have a wonderful weekend!

slinko 04-13-2001 03:51 PM

Gross.
I just got passport photos and I'm in shock.
I look really, really awful.
Aside from the stringy hair, pimples, neck creases, pasty face and generally icktastic countenance I also look very fat. My face looks like a perfect, pudgy moon.
I was going to wait until next Tuesday to sign up but gracious, at this rate I can't register fast enough.
Mind you, I went to a quickie shop and paid too much. I'm sure a professional could've done a better job and I'd be less desperate about the whole affair.
Nonetheless, if all your support wasn't enough, my own unretouched image has sent me sprinting to WW.
Sadly, I'm almost entirely convinced that a guacamole burrito would make it all better.
Help!

Brenda N 04-13-2001 03:59 PM

Slinko

I'm right there in the Mexican restaraunt with you! Burritto's are my fave mexican food. You will be able to eat them b/c they aren't that hard to fit into your day. I eat one every two weeks or so.

DON'T LOOK AT THE PHOTO AGAIN! Didn't you know there is a little evil monster inside any camera device that can make you look awful?? The monsters at passport photo places and Driver's License offices are the worst

Hey, if you are sprinting to the meeting, you already have a great start on exercise! This is one area I have major problems in! Don't fret, soon you'll be on the same track we are :D

StaceyT 04-13-2001 04:36 PM

Good Golly Miss Molly!!

When the cat is away, the mice will play!!
Both bosses are gone and I am totally bored.
I am so ready to go home. I'm having a chocolate attack and hopefully with the salad I had for lunch, I'll be ok.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Happy hochmagandy!!

aimsj 04-13-2001 04:57 PM

Hello all!

This is my first post on 3fatchicks, although I've been lurking for a while! I'm not new to WW. I did WW last year for 6 months, then quit because of time commitments. I thought I would be able to do it on my own. Wrong! In January I weighed myself and saw I maintained, I drove to WW as fast as I could! I've been on program since and am down another 11 pounds.

Lost 2.4 pounds today at weigh in. Woo hoo! I'm dreading this weekend. DH and I are going to visit his family in PA for Easter weekend. I have my low point survival bag packed, but I will definately be upping the exercise next week.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
