Default A Different Kind of Challenge...

OK, ladies, just take a look at this challenge and see what you think...

Here's my problem--sometimes when I'm working to lose weight, I don't care if I let myself down. So, I was thinking maybe we could do a challenge where I would have to accomplish my goal in order not to let anyone else down. So, here's how I'm thinking this could work:

Each person who signs up for this challenge will be assigned a partner. Here's an example:
Let's pretend that Laura and Jayne sign up for this challenge, I'll make them partners. Laura tells Jayne her goal, Jayne tells Laura hers. If Laura accomplishes her goal, Jayne gets to do something nice for herself--maybe buy a book she's been wanting, take a trip, whatever she wants. And if Jayne accomplishes her goal, Laura gets to do something nice for herself. If one partner doesn't accomplish her goal, the other partner gets let down. The reason that I think this challenge will work is because Jayne doesn't want to let Laura down and vice versa.

What do you guys think? I know it's something a little different, but hey, I think it could work... I know I'm in!!

Just a question? Does this have to be a weightloss goal or could it be some other health related goal such as maintaining your current weight within +/- 2lbs for 5 weeks or working out 4 days a week for the next month?

Let me know because I love the idea of this but am not sure that I'm going to plan on losing anymore weight.

Kier - since we are about at the same weight (You are less, I am 208.8 this week but I am blaming TOM for the gain) and all, I'll be your challenger buddy??? Or Jess if you have a different way of working this that's fine too...

Jess, what is teh timeline on this? Is this a New Year's Eve goal??

That gives 8 weeks roughly.

Yay!! I'm glad there's been such a response to this challenge.

OK, Laura in answer to your question you can make your goal whatever you want it to be, just so long as it's health/weight related--for example, eating healthy, maintaining weight, etc.

And as for the duration, what do you guys think of making it a New Year's thing? Or would you rather have it shorter?? Let me know what your thoughts are...

I'd like New Year's b/c it gives us enough time to really accomplish something, without being tooooo long. just my thoughts.

OK Kierie darling!! I always get revved up by your posts so it's a good kick in the arse (in Kier talk) for me.

Now, to think of the goals....can we have more than one? I want one weight, one health goal!!

I'm for New Year's too. I'll wait a few days to see if anyone who doesn't get on to post everyday wants to participate, then we'll partner off. Sound good?

Jess - I totally want in then!!!! New Year's sounds great. I actually created a work-out schedule through then and would love a buddy to motivate me! Plus January is a depressing month - it would be great to do something nice for myself when my partner succeeds at her goal!!!!

OK Kier, here is my goal:

I will begin 2004 under 200 lbs by at least 2-3 lbs. My number goal is 10lbs down (which will put me under).

I will do this by:

1. Journaling honestly for 8 weeks
2. Working out 3-4x/week
3. Checking in with Kierie!!

When you reach your goal of 10lbs down, I am going to have a day at the spa - Manicure, Pedicure and Massage.

What will you do/get when I reach my goal??
