I'm posting late so I hope everyone will actually read this before the posting starts tomorrow! I was off yesterday ... DH and I decided to go to the Outer Banks on Sunday and camp overnight. For those of you not familiar with the Outer Banks, it's the barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina and one of the most beautiful places on the East Coast, I think. We camped at a national park, with just the dunes separating us from the ocean! Course, with Tropical Storm Henri and Hurrican Fabian hanging out in the Atlantic, we got a little rain and it was very windy ... so windy that it was hard to sleep Sunday night because the tent was shaking. We also couldn't go swimming because the surf was so rough and there was a danger of rip tides (someone died while surfing last week).
STILL, with all that, we had a great time, good seafood and got to hang out with our dogs for two days! And now I'm back at work. Oh, joy.
Belle, I'm really sorry to hear about the cyst, but at least you know what the problem is and now it can be fixed, right? What happens now? I just had my gyno appointment today ... if the pap is normal I can go back to once-a-year paps. For those who don't know, I had cervical dyplasia almost two years ago, had a surgical procedure to get rid of the pre-cancerous cells and I've been having paps every 4-6 months ever since! I also now have to get a mammogram done, because even though I'm only 30, my mom got breast cancer when she was 38 (she's fine now), so I'm supposed to start having them early.
I also talked to the doctor about trying to conceive ... and afterward, I kept thinking about how "grown-up" it all felt, just to be thinking about having kids!
So, I'm trying to remember all the posts ... ah, flex points. I ate all of the them over the weekend, and I'm wondering how on earth I'm going to just be able to eat 24 points today. But the dr's scale said I was down a pound - yes, the doctor's scale - so I was shocked and pleasantly surprised.
JenL: How exciting to be thinking about opening your own shop. What kind of business?
Laura: Mmm, a massage. You'll love it! I've always just worn panties, too, although I got nekkid when my sister the NEW massage therapist gave me a massage, because I felt more comfortable with her.
Rina: I forgot you're a massage therapist! My sister is going to be taking her national board exam soon. She's job hunting now. Do you know of any good websites that post massage therapy jobs?
Well, I'd write more, but it's 6:30 and time to go home. DH is off tonight, so we're going to make dinner together. Wish he'd make it FOR me, but he still says he can't cook. The few times he's tried cooking for me he calls me at work over and over to ask me questions.
Hi to Crystal, KT, Angie, Ali, Jayne ... did I miss anyone?
Ooh, my comfort foods ... cream of mushroom soup and grilled cheese sandwiches! My mom always made that when I was sick as a kid, and I make it for myself sometimes when I'm feeling down.
See you tomorrow, everyone!
PS Angie: Re your bio. I have to have the closet door closed when I sleep too!
