Hi Turtles, :bravo: :cheer:

Well Gail, what you went thru this past weekend is something I have done too many times. I did find a friend who takes all sorts of leftovers and does the most ingenious things with them. She is a good friend who lost 240# on WW's over 28 years ago. Now she will take the food and portion it up for a few of her buddies who don't cook for themselves any more. It makes me feel good to give her the food (it's not tempting to her) and she feels good taking care of some of her more elderly friends.

Sending :goodvibes: to help you get on track where you love to be. We had my ds and dgs here for 5 days. It turned out to be relaxing and great. The biggest food challenges were when they brought in a dozen donuts and then 18 bagels and my favorite cream cheese. I had a tip with the bagels that worked out better than I thought. I love tuna and make a WW friendly recipe. I put it on 1/2 bagel that I scooped out a lot of the bread. That sounds so weird, but it worked out fine. It is tough having others in the house as much as we love them. I also made a huge meatloaf and a big batch of meatballs and then didn't have to do a lot of on the spot cooking.................nor did we do take in which is a big plus for me.

Hey, do you like this idea??? From an Italian restaurant.. grilled chicken parm hero..............no bread. It saves calories and is still delicious. I'm not a big fan of grilled chicken from restaurants since they are so dry so often.

Oh well,I am babbling, so I'll sign off now. Good luck to all the Turtles and special good luck to Bandit.............my ever loyal pal!!!!

Morning turtles

Judy - the grilled chicken parm hero sounds super good. Last night I went to meditation class which I haven't been to in awhile & had some time to kill before then, so stopped at grocery store & bought some nice salad things - fancy lettuce & some chopped kale, to change things up abit. Also bought package of skinless, boneless chicken breasts to can try your new idea for the chicken. Also bought some guacamole to try - the kids love avacados but I don't like the texture of them, so thought this might be better.

Got in my morning walks so far this week, staying on track with my food & feeling pretty good. But last weekend was definitely not so great & will probably see a jump at the scales tomorrow.
Oh well, life happens & you just have to get on with it. My salad for today looks delicious & put some feta cheese on it as well, so looking forward to lunch.

I made meatloaf a few weeks ago & always enjoy that as well as a meatloaf sandwich next day. And love meatballs as well, they go with anything.

Oh my now I am getting hungry! Have a good day!

Hi Turtles,
Bandit, so glad you liked the idea of the grilled chicken parm. Honestly, grilled chicken is just blah to me but Italian style chicken cutlet with breading and then deep fried has enough fat to last a week. lol. This new idea works for me and having a bit of sauce on top with small amt. of mozzarella makes a dish that is great. I'm glad you had time to pick up some foods for yourself and I wish you luck on your WI tonight.

I did a huge shopping at Trader Joe's a couple of days ago. Do you have that market in Canada? I love their produce and their prices. Tonight I'm going to take my granddaughter to ballet and then she loves to go to McDonald's where she can have dinner and play in the indoors playground. It's a routine. I get home late, so I need to have something ready to eat and the chicken Marsala WW style will work. I'll make that up sometime today and be ready.

Have a great day. I like how hard you're working at this. me too. I know we want the weight to come off faster, but we're both heading in the right direction. have a great day. :cheer:

Judy

Hi Judy - we have some other stores that are similar to Traders Joes, but none of these that I know of.

So weigh in tonight, and as I said the scale will be up - but I will go & get on the scale & be accountable. When you don't want to get on the scale, is when you need it the most.
I overdid the past weekend & now have to face it & hopefully make better choices this weekend.

It has been really nice weatherwise up here, so glad for that but I think we may get a thunderstorm later tonight - hopefully will be cozy in my bed by then.

You have a great day also.

Gail

Itryharder 04-30-2017 06:45 PM

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, but the weekend was very busy for me. I hope you were happy with your choices this weekend.
Bandit, it is so strange and I know I've made similar comments in the past, but I know this is the year you and I can make goal. I feel it. I am in the process of changing so many habits and really thinking about my choices rather than being on or off a diet. let's do this! :goodscale: :bravo: and :goodvibes:

We have been here for a long time and we help each other. Thanks for being my friend along this journey!!!

Busy weekend......dinner at friends on Friday night. Buffet at fancy catering hall on Sat. for a baby baptism. Today out at the beach with dd and dgd and then back here for lunch. All good. No days were perfect, but all days were good. Waiting to have dinner since I'm not hungry right now. If I don't get "hungry", I'll have a light supper around 7:30pm.

Wishing any Turtles who chime in the very best of everything. Bandit, so glad you are still here and keeping me company on this challenging road. All the best!!!!

Judy  (By the way, I lost 2.4# this week after having a slip up the week before. All challenging. learning new approaches and doing my best.)

bandit2 05-01-2017 04:23 PM

Hi turtles

Judy - congrats on your weight loss this week, awesome!

As I said, the scale was up 1.4# so not as bad as I thought but still up but weekend was better than the previous one, so all good.

Our Tops chapter has been struggling for awhile & we are voting this week whether to disband it. If that happens I can transfer to another chapter.
We have lost quite a few members this past year for various reasons and I think the dedicated regulars just need a change or a break. So will see this Thurs what happens.

Tonight am making pasta sauce when I get home & have some zucchinis to make noodles from - so looking forward to that. A nice hot bowl of this will be great seeing it has been raining all day.

All - pop in when you can.
Gail

Itryharder 05-01-2017 06:16 PM

Hi Turtles,
Gail, you've got a great attitude. I hope that whatever the outcome for your TOPS group, you find another club that will help you out. That's not a bad weight gain and the fact that this weekend was so much better is great. Weigh to go! :cheer:

I'm looking forward to a good WI on Friday myself. Got thru some challenging meals this weekend. At the buffet I was able to have an omelet with mushrooms.............and the chef said it didn't have cream in the mix, but only egg. The dinner at our friends was manageable and I enjoyed the evening. Sunday was a hodgepodge, but I was able to get thru it pretty well. Our dd and her kids were here and it was hectic, but fun. They are great.

Today I am struggling a bit, so I'm here to pass some time and hope that the "itchy food bug" will get lost.
Enjoy your zoodles and sauce. Sounds great. I think tomorrow I'll have spaghetti squash and sauce and some small meatballs on top. That sounds really good. Tonight I had butternut squash and Chicken Marsala..............satisfying.

Okay, sending :goodvibes: to all. I just got some sad news about a very good friend and I think that may be behind my wanting to eat. Now I have to let logic hop in and say that my eating won't make her well. Right?!

Take care. Talk soon and good luck to all
Judy

Itryharder 05-08-2017 05:34 PM

Well my WI on Friday wasn't great. I stayed the same, but had a very good week so that was disappointing. Hopefully I can shake weight up this week.

Gail, how are you doing?
Any Turtles out there?
Wishing you all the best.
Judy

bandit2 05-08-2017 09:06 PM

HI Judy - well, our chapter decided to fold but we will continue for 2 more months since we have to give rental notice for the park.
I will probably transfer to another chapter closer to home. When I moved with my dd I still went to my old club - so this will actually be handier but that won't happen til end of summer.

I was down 3.6# last week, so was extremely happy with that. Still getting in my walks and staying within my daily range which really helps.

I am now down 13# since Jan 1st - even with my up/downs. So doing good overall.

I hear you about being disappointed when you think you did well. But lots of times it takes a few weeks to show up.

My pattern seems to be small losses or stay the same for 2 weeks, then a larger drop on week 3.
However you look at it - if you are trying everday to do better for yourself you are doing great.

Have a great week & lets drink some extra water and do just a little bit more exercise.

Gail

Itryharder 05-11-2017 11:21 AM

Hi Turtles,
Gail, so encouraging to hear from you and your wonderful weight loss. Look at you! 13# since the start of the year. That's wonderful. I feel kind of stuck and I reacted badly to not losing weight. of course you are right and I may be in another type of losing pattern again................when I was young I'd go 3 weeks not losing anything and then lose 7# the next week. I have to keep that in the back of my head..........not a fun losing pattern, but worth sticking with the right things.

Glad you got in water and exercise too. you must be flying high with such a great loss. Sorry about your group folding, but I am sure you'll do well in this next group. Good luck!

Have a great week.
:cheer: and :bravo: and :goodscale:

Good morning turtles

Well, I turtled last week at Tops but I am OK with that.

Got my trailer opened but the site was too wet to rake & there are lots of leaves so that will be next trip to get that done. But got everything hooked up and washed down inside,
so looking forward to another season up there.
This year my plan is to do "pool walking" in our sports pool - I read about this and basically you walk/run laps in the pool instead of swimming & it is suppose to be a good workout with the water resistant & make it harder than walking on ground. So will try it out along with my regular walks & swimming which I love.\

Overate abit on weekend but here's to a new week!

Itryharder 05-21-2017 01:21 PM

Hi Turtles,
I'm back from a 5 day vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC. Was there with my two sisters to celebrate the "baby's" 60th . birthday. We had such a good time. Because of the internet, I didn't want to post I'd be away, so I didn't have a way to let you know.

All good news foodwise. My sisters were both "watching" it and we ate well. Had good dinners out and I aimed for fish often. Also the groceries we bought for the suite were good even including birthday cake.............but a tiny one. I don't know how I did, but I'll be weighing in on Friday and I'll let you know then. Sending :goodvibes: and :goodscale: We can do this. We are doing this! I'll open a new thread soon. Busy getting settled back in here at home. Good luck in all you do.
Judy
