Tenacious Tuesday!

  • Morning Chicks Off to feed the natives Bbiab toPost!
  • Hi Kier! Where is everyone?

Bleh. I ate Chinese last night. I went to my cousin's house right from work, getting there about 7:30, and they, of course, had already eater because they eat about 5:30. (People still do that?) Anyway, I didn't leave until 9, and then I didn't want to cook, so I stopped for take-out. I got beef and broccoli, which I think is a better Chinese choice, but I also ate about 6 of those crabmeat rangoons. Sigh.

    I'll do better today!

Hey, girls, come out and play!
  • Hello everyone!! I'm back from vacation.

Vacation was good, but busy. I wanted to see a little bit of Portland while I was there, but had business classes and whatnot, and there wasn't time. I did, however, learn a lot and am glad that I went.

I got in on Sunday only to find that my air conditioner is broken. It's hot and humid here, so I've been a real bear to be around... Then, when I put on my jeans and they were way too tight, it made things worse. After that, I got paged into work with no time to put on makeup and that would have been fine, except I have a great big zit on my chin. So far, things are not going well since I've been back.

OK, I gotta get some work done. It's already 9:30 and I haven't accomplished a darn thing.

I'll try to stop back later...
  • Where is everyone? I'm grumpy and need some distractions from work.
  • I'm here Jess & Kim.

Jess- What kind of vacation were you on that you went to business seminars? Sounds like a business trip to me. Sorry you've been having a no good, very bad, terrible time since you returned. I will pray to the gods of airconditioning repair people for you.

Kim - I would have succumbed to crab rangoon too. In fact, you've just made my day harder. I now want to bail on my Lean Cuisine and go get Chinese for lunch. Speaking of LC's - would it help to keep a stack of those in the freezer for nights you don't want to cook as a take-out preventative measure?

Boring life - nothing to report - I worked last night. Worked out this morning - 30 minutes treadmill and the legs & abs sections of the Firm's Super Body Sculpt. I put a pot roast in the crock pot for CB's dinner tonight. I've never made one before so it could be interesting.

    Have a great day!

    Laura
  • I go back to WW tonight!!!
  • Morning ladies --

I've got to get back on track, I've dropped right back into the habit of eating late at night -- not good! So that's my plan for today: I've planned out all my meals and refuse to eat anything after 8 pm. Even if I'm in front of the TV. Had a decent weekend, very relaxing. And only one more week until the July 4th week! I'm excited because I've got a bunch of days off in July and can't wait to relax... It's been a long year.

Kim - I'm a total sucker for chinese food too... i had a chinese buffet last week - those are NOT healthy! too many choices, and i always feel like i'm missing out if i don't try everything!

Jess - glad to hear you had a good vacation. i visited seattle a couple years ago and loved it - especially since it was in august and i left typical illinois weather - 100 degrees plus humidity

Laura - good luck on the crockpot pot roast! very ambitious.

    back to work ...
  • Morning!
The strangest thing is going on with my friend's son. He eats all the time. Literally. Five minutes after dinner he wants a snack. Usually dessert but if all he's offered is fruit he'll take that too. He wakes up in the middle of the night (he has since he was old enough to understand that food is in the fridge) and he goes into the fridge and eats. He drinks creamo like it's milk and four or five bites of everything he can get his hands on. He shouldn't have worms because he was given medication for that so we're trying to figure out what else it could be. Anyone have any ideas? He's not a big kid, he's 3 and average size. That's what I've spent the last couple of days thinking about. The daycare even noticed that he'll say he's going inside to the bathroom and they'll catch him sneaking food. It's very strange. I'm feeding them dinner tonight. Otherwise, same old, same old around here.
Kim - is it MSG making you feel Blech? Beef and broccoli is good.
Jess - you were on my side of the world! Hope you're not too swamped now that you're back
Laura - Let us know how your first crock roast went. sounds good.
Hi Amber - way to get back to WI!
Angie - the no eating after 8 is a great strategy. I'm a night snacker too.
Kier - where'd you go? I'll say hi now, we're probably posting at the same time.

    I'll check back later.

  • Hey girls, sorry I haven't been around the past few days. On Thursday night I got unexpected company in the form of my cousin who stayed until Saturday. She brought along a nasty virus & now I've got it. I came home early from work yesterday & I'm not going in today. I feel lousy. I just thought I'd pop in here while I'm coherent (Neo Citron knocks me out). My Mom was up on the weekend & we ahd a good visit but we over ate! At WI last night I was down 0.4 which is better than going up! Today I have no appetite so far. I have a big weekend coming up so I need to bank a ton of points. DH & I are going to Edmonton (6 hours away) to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, spending the night in a hotel & the whole shebang. Then we're picking up my cousin & her DH flying in from Texas. Then we're all going back to my hometown & having a massive welcome home party for my cousin. Then the next day the whole family is getting together & we're having a big barbecue. It will be a very challenging food weekend. I'm going to work hard at being accountable. I also decided that I'm not going to drink any alcohol b/c I'd much rather spend my points on food. Anyway it should be a really fun time if I can behave myself food-wise. We leave Thursday afternoon. I can't wait! My cousin flying in from Texas is my best friend-we're the same age & neither of us had a sister (well until now) so we filled that role for each other. I haven't seen her since last August.

Hey did anyone see Oprah yesterday? It was really good. The whole show was about eating for your health & prevnting disease. It was realy interesting. SHe had a chef on there who made some really cool dishes with some interesting cooking methods. I'm hoping to find time to pull the recipes off the website.

Kim, glad to hear you're persevering! Keep it up & the scale willl drop.

KT, that's really weird with your friend's son. Have they taken him to a doctor?

Angie, good plan to getting back on track. You can do it! For me I find that soemtimes I really do need to eat that late but then I only let myslef eat fruit. I love frozen berries the best. They are turning into a comfort food for me.

Amber, welcome & good luck at WW!

Laura, you rock with the workouts! I need you to come light a fire under my butt! Hope your pot roast turns out good. We always do that & then make it into a beef dip. DH loves it.

Jess, hope your day is going better! Hope its not affecting your eating.

    Kier are you coming back?

A big hey to everyone else! If I'm feeling better later I might pop back but right now I'm going to go crash.
  • Rina - Yeah, the doctor said normally kids with compulsions (like this food compulsion) usually show up elsewhere and because he doesn't have any other compulsions, he's probably fine. It's a little mental.
    KT
  • Laura: I had four Weight Watchers meals in my freezer! But no, I took the easy way out.

KT: Nope, the beef and broccoli was delish. The bleh is from feeling guilty that I ate it. It's probably a better Chinese choice, but Chinese food still makes you retain. Doesn't it? That's what I've always heard. But I did get a small and just ate half of it. (And the 6 crab rangoons, of course. But guess what ... I threw the leftover 2 away!)

Rina: Is it really your one-year anniversary already? Wow, time has flown. 'Course, I've been married seven months now! But congratulations!

    Hi Amber and Angie!

OK, I've got to go WORK. I spend way too much time on the Internet.

  • Welcome Amber and congrats on going back to WW. Enjoy tonights meeting.

Angie - good job planning out all your meals like that.

KT - that is a little strange about your friend's son. I don't know much about kids but it does sound slightly weird.

Rina - hope you feel better.

Kim - sometimes the only weight to quench a craving is to eat some of it - good for you throwing those last 2 rangoons out - I'd have eaten them later!

    Kierie - you are a work-out goddess!

    See you all tomorrow.

    Laura
