JOYce, the Aug 22-24 weekend sounds great! I can call Texaslady when we know for sure; I know she wanted to meet you. Would be terrific if Janet, Carol, Linda, Bandit, NascarGirl, and Hottie could come too; will PM everyone when we have the date!
Carol, I'm so sorry you can't make it, but can certainly understand, with all your new job responsibilities right now. I know you'll be with us in spirit!
Have sent PMs to Hottie, Bandit and Nascar Girl, and emails to Texaslady and Janet.
Hope everyone's Monday is off to a good start! Gotta run and fix supper ... see ya later!
Carol I'm sorry I won't get to meet you. But I understand, too.
I'm really looking forward to my Texas vacation!
I have 4 senior girls working on a project, There is much "hyper-anxiety" in the house with graduation only 10 days away! pizza was just delivered. I took 1 piece and left the room! I hope they devour the rest of it!
Hi ladies - I wrote the date of my calendar & hopefully can arrange to come. That would be so cool - never been to Texas.
Use to watch "Dallas" on TV but that is as far as I have come to it.
I would love to meet all of you - think it would be lot of fun.
Bandit, that would be terrific! Have emailed you more info.
We had a lovely thunderstorm here this morning (we badly need the rain!) but it looks like it may be clearing up now. Took Dad on some errands and am trying to pack now for our trip.
I made an interesting, low-pts salmon quiche last night, using lots of leftovers: some cooked spaghetti squash on the bottom and sides of a casserole, then grilled salmon, diced cooked zuchhini and yellow squash, a handful of frozen peas, a few sliced green onions. Then I mixed together about 1 1/2C of nonfat milk, 3/4 cup whole wheat baking mix, 3 eggs, and Mrs. Dash, poured that over the salmon mixture. Topped with some parmesan and baked about an hour at 350. Not bad!
Guess I'd better get back to work! Hope everyone's having a great week!
JAN Your quiche sounds yummy! You are so creative when it comes to food.
Glad you got some of the needed rain! We are getting drizzles for the 2nd day in a row. It really surprised me , but is nice.
When do you leave on your trip and for how long? Where will your dad be while you are gone?
I'm looking forward to meeting him, sounds like a great guy.
bandit I do hope we get to meet this summer! It sounds like the others had a great time when they got together last time.
I've regretted missing that one a great deal.
Hi JOYce, and thanks. Glad y'all are getting some rain too! Re: our trip, we leave Sat., and Dad leaves Fri. to visit DS in Florida. (He was going ten days ago, but we rescheduled to give DS more time after her fall.) Dad is looking forward to meeting you, too! He so enjoyed our first get-together.
I started WW officially yesterday and am looking forward to support from all you guys and girls. My journey to here has been long and I have been on every diet. I believe in this.
Welcome PB Granny I guess you have already figured out that the gals on this thread are an awesome group of supporters!
It's good to have another granny aboard! I have 10 of the darlings ranging from 11 yrs to 20 something....plus 4 great grands! age 9 mos to 7. We have 4 grown kids, I am a retired teacher and my husband is is aerospace, he has retired 2 or 3 times and they keep calling him back, I think next Spring will be for sure. We live in so Calif. I have 100 # to lose, and have trouble sticking with a program.
Tell us more about yourself. we want to know you better.
We have a new produce store in town! Called Healthy Farms. Produce seems very fresh and prices are less than grocery stores. I hope they stay that way!
I got word that my dgd and her dh are getting to come for her sister's graduation after all!! So I will have a housefull come this weekend! They should get here about the same time dh and our son get home from fishing!
Guess I better get some of that fresh produce going for dinner! dgd and I have to go to ceramics to finish her project tonight.
Welcome Venetia! Glad to have you join us! Re: the WW story, I did see that sometime last year (on the bio channel?) and it was SO interesting. I was a member way back in the 70's, when the program was so darn complicated, and it worked for me but I just did not follow through. I like the points system SO much better, and have maintained my loss for almost two years now. It's a lifetime thing!
We're definitely "here" for ya, and hope to see you often! How do you like the program so far?
JOYce, how great that your dgd and her dh can come to the graduation! What do you plan to cook ... let's see ... maybe fish?! I can't believe that your dh, the uber-fisherman, doesn't like to eat fish!
Gotta run ... hope everyone's having a great evening!
