  • That sounds like something TIgger would say -- I can almost hear the woo-hoo-hoo-hoo behind it...

    bbiam to post...
  • Hey there ladybugs!

I'm pretty groggy this morning. My stamping workshop was way fun (too much fun) and the last person left at 11:30. Aaron and hubby had been at a neighbors, and they came home with Aaron still up and ready to run. So I had to rock him until 1:30 to get him to sleep. Sure enough, as he does when he is overtired, he was back up from 3:30 to 5:30. Hubby had an important meeting this morning at 8:00, so letting him cry just wasn't an option. I don't do well at that anyway. But on the upside, I earned $65 in free stamps and a few free sets as well. Yeah, baby!

How is everyone doing this morning? Has spring sprung in your part of the country (countries) as well? Here in Minnesnowda, we had a big snowstorm at the beginning of last week with a warmup at the end of the week. I thought it would be a brief break, then back to cold, but it's stuck so far. Little Aaron is dying to play outside, but it's still a little too muddy for that, with all of the snow melting...

Looking forward to hearing from all you losers today!
  • Morning Jayne and all to post soon!

Today is rainy and gray and instead of getting out of bed to do a 30 minute WATP tape, I slept in. I promised myself I'd either do it tonight. However, I'm working really hard to find an excuse not to go to Circuit Training class on my lunch hour either. The weather is icky and my muscles are sore and I'm achey. I'm trying to decide if I should summon up the will power to stick to my work-out plan or if I should cut myself and my body some slack substitute a walk on the treadmill and an easy yoga tape instead.

On a brighter note - yesterday my 17 year old cousin called me and asked me to do the MS Walk with her this Saturday. She was diagnosed with MS this past fall and I'm really touched that she'd want my company for this. So I'm off to spend my day badgering pledges out of my family and friends!

    BBL.

    Laura
  • Laura, baby, you are SO going to circuit traning over your lunch break. Success is a series of wise decisions, and I'm making this wise decision easy for you. Either you get your butt to class or I come and beat you with the biggest stick I can find. No, in all seriousness, I've found the best remedy for an exercise-sore body is the hair of the dog that bit you -- more exercise. That will warm those muscles right up and loosen them, and they won't ache anymore when you're done or tonight for that matter, when you WILL do WATP. So, I would highly recommend you get yourself to circuit training, or a beating will ensue. How's that for gentle encouragement? It's only 'cause I love ya!!! *smoochies*

That is so sweet that your cousin would want you to share this with her. That is so young for that kind of a life-changineg diagnosis! Is she showing symptoms yet? I did that walk one year in college, when I was working at assisted living apartments for people with MS. My company sponsored me, and it was really moving to see all the MS people from my building there cheering me on! What a great bonding experience for the two of you!!! It's amazing how we take our bodies so for granted (in the case of me 201 pounds worth of for granted, at one point) and all that health we enjoy in spite of everything we do to abuse our bodies can be gone in the blink of an eye. Really motivates me to make the best I can out of my body. Ok, sermon's over....
  • Good morning girls!

Jayne ~ Glad your stamping party went well, I love parties! I bought the Firm tapes, but need to start using them. I have heard really good things about them.

Laura ~ That is great that you are doing the MS Walk, what a great cause, and great exercise too!

Another boring day at work. But, alas, I still have drama in my life. I stopped at the Dr's office this morning and had a urine sample taken for a pregnancy test. My period was suppose to start last Thursday, and still no period. I have been late/missed my period only 3 times in my life, all three times I was pregnant. But, I have taken 3 HPT's and all are negative. So, I don't know what is going on. I know women miss periods all the time, but that just isnt' me. I am sure this one will be negative too, so I am not worried, but would like to know what is going on!

When the Dr's office calls me with the results, I think I will ask if this is a concern or should I just blow it off.

Anyway, I ate like crap yesterday, but I started over this morning with my water and banana. I am not going to fall back off the wagon, I can do this!

It is raining here today, yucky day. But, no snow and warmer temps, so I am happy.

Well, better get some work done....BBIAB....post with me today ladies, I don't want to work!
  • Dr's office called, its negative, and I should just blow it off and be happy I get a month off from AF!
  • Good morning! You have all been busy bees this morning

Laura - I think its cool that you are doing the MS walk. How did your cousin find out she had it so young? Also, to answer your question from yesterday, we are going either to the Bahamas or Cancun for the honeymoon. Its still up in the air. We could go to Cancun for 10 days, or the Bahamas for 8, and the Bahamas for 8 is still costing more than Cancun for 10. So, its a question of can we save enough money in the next couple of months. I would really like to go to the Bahamas for 10 days

Jayne - What exactly is "stamping"? I know, this may sound like a stupid question. I mean, all I can think of is stamp collectors! Oh and after the wedding we are going to rent a VFW for that night and our friends are going to come up from NJ and play (they are the irish pub-rock band I talked about before). You are more than welcome to come to that if you wish! We are doing a "family-only" wedding type of thing, so we're having the band play in order to celebrate with our friends.

Tonya - This is a good thing right? Weren't you nervous about having another baby? I hope this is a good thing for you!

Well things here are cool. I went out last night and bought new sneakers for the gym, and flip flops so I can shower. I bought some new exercise clothes too. Oh and I bought my first BIKINI (yes first one EVER). It doesn't look quite right yet (my tummy needs to be a little flatter) but I plan on fixing that by the time I can wear it!

I went to the gym again this morning. That's working out really well for me, becuase I'm not as hungry anymore before lunch. So the plan is to go to the gym every morning...I'm counting on you guys to keep me accountable!

    Come out and post!
  • Jayne - I'm scared of you!! You are right. I need to go to class. Besides as long as I'm this sore, it hurts to take the stairs which means I'm not running to the cafeteria to get food! I think I'm going to make tomorrow a light cardio day though - I want to walk the MS Walk - not hobble!

Tonya - I know you were thinking of another child. Hope you aren't too disappointed. BTW - I LOVE The Firm. Try those tapes - they are awesome!

Lori - New work-out clothes - what fun! And a honeymoon whether in Cancun or the Bahamas is motivation to tone up for the bikini.

Thanks all for inquiring about my cousin and the MS walk. She is awfully young to have been diagnosed. They actually think that the onset occured at about age 13 - it just took 3 years to get a diagnoses. Prior to diagnoses, she had only mild (as far as MS is concerned) symptoms - mostly affecting her vision and one arm. Since she started treatment, she hasn't had any symptoms at all.

    O.K. must work some.

    Laura
  • Hi gals!

Remember me? I know, I've been absent for a while. But I moved 3 weeks ago, started a new job ... and have been trying not to do too much personal stuff on my work computer. My home one isn't set up yet. But I missed everyone, so I wanted to say hi!

I'm at a new newspaper, in Newport News, Va., and my DH is here too! I'm a reporter; he's a copy editor. He's still working nights, but we're already seeing each other much more. Still, there's a lot of adjusting. I was at my old paper for 4 and a half year. I miss it there, but I like the new job. I'm closer to family here, and that's good. Last night I visited my cousin and her 7-month-old baby girl. I'll get to see her more, so I'm excited.

Let's see, diet? Well, I've gained about 8 pounds since the wedding, although my mom is visiting and told me I look like I've lost weight, so that works for me! I intend to join the YMCA next week.

Well, I have to go meet someone for lunch. Hope everyone is well and I promise I'll visit more!
  • Good Morning!
Good morning everyone! I wish I had been around yesterday, reading through the thread was really interesting, I wish I could have been in on the conversation...

A few responses to yesterday's thread

Belle--Sweetie, first of all, I just want to send a big hug. You sound really down and I hate to hear it. The BF situation is a tough one and I have to say something that maybe sounds bad, but sometimes looking for someone else while your with someone helps you to make a good decision. Before Aaron and I broke up, I really wasn't that happy with him--I kept wanting things to change and after we broke up, I realized the only thing that was changing was me--I wasn't as independent as I used to be, I let him walk all over me. I would get mad about things he did, but let him convince me that I was in the wrong so a lot of things that I should have expected him to do I just let slide. I attempted time after time to tell Aaron how I felt, but he didn't listen. So, I handled things somewhat childishly--I cheated on Aaron in an attempt to get his attention and make him realize how much I matter to him, but the person that I cheated on A with was probably a better match for me. When I realized that, I started seeing all the things about myself that had changed and all the things about Aaron that were never going to change. I also realized that even though Aaron treated me as though he no longer found me desirable, other people still desired me. I'm not suggesting that you go cheat on your BF--in fact, it's a mistake I wish I had never made, but maybe thinking about seeing someone else is the trick. Just some thoughts...

Jayne--It sounds like you had a great stamp show and I'm glad to hear it! I wish I would have been there to demo for you too! Just let me know when you want to have one, I'll roll on up to MN and do a show for you. And of course, you can always have a CTMH catalog show. I received my WATP tapes yesterday and did the 1 Mile (just to sort of check it out) yesterday and really liked it. I can't wait to do the 3-mile. And, yes, it does look like spring has sprung. Of course, it's Nebraska, so even though it's been in the fifties, we're sure to get another good snow or two.

Lori--In answer to your question about stamping, we're talking about rubber stamping and scrapbooking. If you'd like, the website for the company I sell for is http://www.closetomyheart.com We have some great stuff, I think. I'm curious about the band that's going to be playing at your wedding--have they toured? There was recently a really great Irish pub-rock band in Omaha and they were awesome. I was just wondering if it was the same, it would be a small world, wouldn't it?

Laura--I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree with Jayne. As your virtual sister, I'm afraid you're like me and once you let yourself go once, you let yourself go a second time and then a third... At least, that's how it is for me. That's awesome that your cousin called and asked you to do that, I'd be flattered, too. But then again, you're such a cool person that you probably should have expected it.

Tonya--I'm sorry to hear that you're so bored at work, I can totally sympathize. Unfortunately, I've been super-busy, so I haven't had the fun of being bored. Does that make sense, probably not.

Hey look, it's almost lunchtime. I'm going to go home and make a good, OP lunch and will try to make it back later today!
  • Jess - The band I'm talking about doesn't tour except for Massachusetts, RI, and Connecticut. They all live in NJ on the NY line and play NY and NJ shows a lot. Their name is The Skels and if you want to check them out their website is www.theskels.com
  • Lori, I'm totally kidding about crashing your wedding -- I would never do that! Sounds wonderful, though

Jess, I'm eagerly awaiting your roll-in! You sound like you've made a lot of psychological progress over the Aaron thing. You made it into a growth and learning experience, and you beame a better, more self-realized person through that. Good for you! I'm glad you liked the one-mile...three mile, here you come!

Laura, don't be scared of me -- I'm all of 5'3" and mostly harmless. No, I agree with giving your body a break when it needs a break, so take my kidding with a grain of salt. Hope your aches and pains are gettting better...

Hey Kim, congrats on your new position. It must be nice to be closer with family. And even nicer to work with hubby, even if the hours are different. How's your new place? Did you buy a house or go the apartment route?

Tanya, glad to see you're back on the wagon. Your journals always inspire me to eat more bananas -- your banana and coffee breakfasts are what I strive for, but I get way too hungry and always end up adding the toast or bagel. Good for you!!!

Just came back from getting my hair done. It is much lighter (highlights) than what I had anticipated, so I have to adjust and see if I like it. If not, I need to go back and tell her to put some dark streaks back in. I don't think I'd make a great bottle blonde, especially when my natural color is dark enough that it's almost black...

See you kiddos later. I'm going to go try to adjust my sense of humor. Some of my teasing remarks apparently haven't been coming out quite right...
  • Kim - of course we remember you! I'm glad that the move and job changes have worked out so well for you guys. You sound a lot less stressed out even if you are having to make a lot of adjustments.

Wow Jess - I'm proud of the introspection you've put into what happened between you and Aaron and why. So many people never bother to think that stuff through and just make the same mistakes the next time around.

Got my butt to circuit training class. Mostly I feel better but my abs are sore as all get out. It helped a lot that during the ab routine I got to peek at the trainer's abs (don't ask how) - he's such a cutie!

I've had a lot of fun posting like a freak these last few days. I'm going to be sorry that my boss is back in town tomorrow and that I need to go back to once every day or so.
  • Jayne - now you tell me you are kidding??!!??? Harmless my a**! Teasing. Actually, going to class was good (did I mention the CUTE trainer?) but I'd pretty much decided that my other 30 minutes today needs be yoga or a gentle walk - no WATP weighted balls for me tonight!

    Laura
  • Morning everyone!
I'm tired today but feeling better cause I saw my dad last night and I know that things are looking up. I've spent the morning returning e-mails of people who were wondering how his surgery went. My mom's feeling a lot better too so I'm happy about that.

Jayne - Just hearing about your night made me feel tired. Every now and then I rethink the whole need and desire to have children.

Laura - I love the thought of exercise and visiting while helping a good cause, what could be better.

Tonya - sorry about your news, I guess it tells you how badly you really want another one. Or you can read Jayne's post like I did and use it as a deterrant from more children

Lori - A bikini! how cool. And way to go with those workouts!

Kim - Hello stranger! I'm glad you and DH get to spend more time together at your new jobs. Hopefully the news is just as interesting for you there as it was at your last job. Did you guys buy a place or are you renting for now?

Hello Jess, hope you enjoyed your OP lunch.

Speaking of points, I went to WI last night and together with TOM gained .8# - that was good, I was worried it would be more. I also realized that as I was losing this past month, I've been eating a banana every day on my morning break and either an apple or orange on my afternoon break (which I didn't do last week cause I had no bananas or apples. But I got back to that today so we'll see how it affects next week's WI.
OK - I have some stuff to do before lunch. I'll check back later.
