Post Tuesday, February 18th

Hi-I hope you don't mind me starting this thread. I am new here. I am at work right now (I work 2:45am-3:15pm in an Intensive Care Unit) and I wanted to post before it got too busy here. I have been posting on the Bootcamp Buddies website. That is another support group just for people who go to WW. They pretty much blackballed me last Sunday because I confessed to cheating too much. One woman compared me to an abused woman who stays with her abuser because she just can't leave. They didn't like me describing "everything I shoved in my mouth" either. It really hurt my feelings and I decided they were a little too hard-core for me. I found this site through Google and I'm hoping I'll fit in. I joined WW on 1/17/2003 for about the 10th time. I really want to do this but I am struggling. Reading through your previous posts I feel like some of you are having the same struggles as me. Maybe we can do this together. Have a good day.

Robin: That is harsh... Some people can do the straight being OP 24/7, but to be honest with you, it's harder to maintain when you've been so strict (this has been my experience), it all depends. The reason why we become successful is not because we stay standing all the time, it's because when we fall, we learn to get up. I have had my ups and downs since being here. I was great getting to goal, it's been maintaining. Welcome my dear!! And wow, that's a really long shift! My roomate was in an ICU unit 2 weelks ago. He's much better now.

Bullfroglover: Welcome! I started where you were and am almost back down to where I want to be. How are you doing?

Eek, this cold has given me a nasty appetite. I just signed up for ww e-tools, it's actually really neat and I like it a lot from what I have seen. I think it will be worth it for me. I had to cancel on my sweetie for Joe Millionaire. I am glad ZZora won. I wished I had watched it with my sweetie, but I have been really sick. I should go to work, but I think I will ditch out early and go back home and rest for a while.

Take Care!

Hey all... me again. Hope I don't scare people away again today..

Robin, I have heard nothing good about the Bootcamp Buddies. I have been on this website since 1998 and have heard so many people complain how they are treated by the BB's. Nice support eh. Someone told me that as long as you don't tell them your faults, you are OK. And you can't tell me that none of them ever have faults.

Oh well.

I am super stressed at work. Wish I didn't come in. I have been hating it here for a long time, but am related to a lot of people and don't have many choices at the moment. I just pray things get better. We are moving our offices this week and that is really sucking too.

Whine...............................

Hi everyone! I am here at the office but no patients are showing up due to our huge snowstorm! They wouldn't even let us go home early-I swear this place has no respect for its employees. If hubby hadn't come by and dropped off the 4WD I would have left anyway-I have a tiny baby inside me to think about now!

Of course I stopped at the grocery store on the way home because we were out of my favorite food these days-ice cream(well, frozen yogurt to be exact) Hubby makes fun of me because I have a bowl of ice cream every night! hey-it's an approved source of calcium, right? i tell hime not to worry-I am keeping a close eye on the scale and will cut myself off if the weight gets out of control. I know how hard it will be to lose afterwards-but you ladies will be here, as always, to help! that's what I love about this board-you let me keep posting even though i'm not on weight loss right now-
I bet the bootcamp Buddies would have booted me right off ! We are more like friends here

Good morning everyone! How was everyone's weekend? Did anyone else have a 3-day weekend? My weekend was good, pretty quiet, for a change, so that was nice.

WW-wise, I did pretty well over the weekend, so hopefully WI tonight will be OK. I only exercised twice this week, so I'm hoping that won't adversely affect my WI.

Arg, I've had a headache for the last three weeks and can't figure out what it is. Does anyone know of anything that would cause me to have a headache for three weeks? I'd do anything to get rid of it and nothing seems to be working...

Speaking of health issues, my sister told me on Saturday that she has TMJ, too. Is TMJ pretty common?

Well, some of you may remember WorkBoy the dirtbag. He's in training all week this week, I think. So far, I haven't seen him and I'm glad, but at some point I'll probably bump into him. Ick.

Robin--Hello and welcome. I think you're really going to like it here. This is an awesome group of ladies and it's just like talking to a bunch of good friends about weight loss stuff. You don't need any Boot Camp Buddies when you can hang out with an awesome group like us.

Ali--I do eTools, too and really like it so far. I don't use the meal plans, because they're a whole bunch of foods I don't like (picky eater), but I love the journal and weight tracker. I didn't watch Joe Millionaire at all, but I did see on Entertainment Tonight last night an interview with that blond girl and she was saying some kind of mean things about Zora, so I was glad that he picked her. I hope you're feeling better soon, by the way!!

Jen--I doubt that you'll scare people away. Besides, I'm glad someone else did it for a change, it's usually me scaring folks off. As far as things at the job go, I hear you. I'm not really liking my job much right now. But, I have to stick it out until I finish getting my degree. Which will be awhile, because I don't start school until the fall. I'm just thankful that I already have 2 years under my belt.

Hello Tonya!!

OK, I gotta get some work done, if I can even function--my headache is getting worse.

Jen: yeah I have heard the same thing about BCB. Actually if memory serves correctly, they started on this board and then split off and severed ties in a huge way. I am off of work today, I went in and since I couldn't talk everyone urged me to go home, which I did.

Lori: yeah I am just worried for my friend. She's down where you are and is due in 2 weeks. I hope she doesn't deliver early.

Jess: no 3 day weekend for me. That's okay though.

Hey Tonya!

Becky: if you see this, is your wedding coming up really soon?

Lisa: if you see this "hi" we miss you!!!!

JenK: I hope Law school isn't driving ya too mad.

Kirsty: Tell Lolly Hi from me

Anyone else I haven't seen in a while, Hi, I hope all is well with you

Take care!

Ali

Hi everyone. I slept a bit better last night. I need to catch up on all the sleep I lost worrying this weekend.
Ali - my sister lives in Manassas, Virginia and works at a hospital in Fairfax, VA - They're not going anywhere anytime soon. Also, yay for Zora
Robin - welcome. I too would have been booted from BCB but again, I will get back on the wagon!
Jen - Not too long and you'll be at home, unstressed and happy. Maybe that thought can get you through for a bit.
Tonya - I never feel like working! things are pretty slow here right now and that makes it harder.
Lori - yay for 4WD!
Jess - I read recently that sex can get rid of headaches. I'm not saying I believe it, but it's worth a try. How is your vision? Any chance you may need glasses or new glasses?
OK, I'm going to do the 10 minutes of work I have. Then I will read all the union spam I've been getting for the past 2 weeks. We are taking a strike vote soon. I'm not looking forward to a strike.

Hey gals, once agai I am running out the door on my way to work so this needs to be quick. Sorry I've been MIA the past few days. I had an awesome awesome v-day! Spent the whole day with dh. My Mom came up for the weekend & we over ate! Argh! I knew that would happen & I still wasn't prepared. Argh! Yesterday once again I over ate! This week has to get better. I was so happy with Joe $$ last night. I think they should have just let that fairy tale ending stand instead of having another show next week. That was the best when they gave them the $$! Their faces were priceless! Anyway I should run! Hope you all have a goreat OP day!

Welcome to our two new Robins! Funny you both came at the same time & you have the same name! THis group rocks!

HI-I'M SO GLAD TO HEAR WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK OF BCB. I WAS FEELING A LITTLE PARANOID ABOUT THE WHOLE THING. ONE WOMAN THAT WAS GIVING ME *ELL HAD TO LOSE 11 LBS TO GET TO GOAL. THAT WAS FROM HER STARTING WEIGHT. I THINK IT TOOK HER 2 MONTHS TO MAKE LIFETIME. I KNOW IT'S HARD TO LOSE ANY AMOUNT OF WEIGHT BUT IT'S EVEN HARDER TO TAKE CRITICISM FROM SOMEONE WHO ONLY HAS TO LOSE AN AMOUNT THE SIZE OF ONE OF MY *SS CHEEKS. SORRY, I JUST HAD TO GET THAT OUT.

ALI: LET ME KNOW HOW YOU LIKE THE WW E-TOOLS. I LOOKED INTO IT BUT IT WAS RIGHT AFTER I PAID FOR 12 WEEKS OF WW UP FRONT AND I WAS TO CHEAP TO GIVE THEM ANY MORE OF MY HARD EARNED $$$$.

JEN L: IT HAS BEEN SUCH A STRESSFUL DAY HERE AT WORK FOR ME TOO. I CAN'T WAIT FOR 3:15PM!

TONYALYN: I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO HANGING WITH YOU GUYS. THANKS!

LORI D: WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GET HIT BY THAT STORM BUT ONLY ENDED UP W/ ABOUT 6 INCHES. I'M SO SICK OF SNOW. I CAN'T WAIT FOR SPRING!!

JESSISOK: I WONDER IF YOU HAVE A SINUS INFECTION-OR MAYBE YOU NEED GLASSES. FEEL BETTER.

HORSEYGIRL: I THINK I FEEL A HEADACHE COMING ON.....

HAVE A GOOD DAY, I THINK I'M GONNA LIKE IT HERE!!

Hi everyone....
Doing well today, but definitely not gonna get on the scale soon...TOM is here. Hate THAT.

Ali: It is such an inspiration to see that!! Someone who was in my place is really making it. Makes me think I can too!

So weird that we(both Robins) joined the same time!! I rarely run into people with the same name, and spelled the same way!! Usually it's with a "y". But just to differenciate, I'll tack on an initial at the end. And, are you also in nursing, Robin?? Cause that's just freaky

Loved Joe Millionaire last night! Good ending. But I agree, they should have just left it the way it was.

Ok, well just got home from clinical, so gotta go...I'm starving!

Both Robins are nursing???? When were your babies born... tell us about it. I am PG with my 2nd, due the first week of May. Lori is PG and due in August and we just found out last week that Angie is PG. I nursed my 1st for 4 months and will try again this time around. Tho this time it will be summer. Hope that works out OK. Winter was pretty easy with all the bulky clothes!

I have to get some new Emma pics scanned and posted. You won't believe how she has grown!

hehe...no Jen, I'm not nursing.....I'm a soon to be RN. I'm a senior nursing student
I figured since the other Robin said she works in the ICU, there was a good chance she was a nurse as well....

Oooo, oooo, nursing conversations. I've just sent in my application for nursing school - I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The program I want will give me a bachelor of Science in nursing as well as my RN certification in 2 years. If I don't get in to that school, I'll have to go to another and it will take 4 years and I won't start until January 2004! Go nurses!
