Deb ~

Our sons must be similar. My son is almost 4 and wears a size 6 jean and an 11 shoe. He is a big boy.....he is bigger than his 5 1/2 year old cousin.

Good Morning,

Ok - this is my first time posting in this type of thread. :) yay! I started off sooooo well this morning (had breakfast, which I haven't been doing lately) then filled up my water pitcher and have been drinking it faithfully...then came coffee time, and I bought a muffin. Ate half of it before I came to my senses.

Now I have to concentrate on being good for the rest of the day...:) and going to the gym tonight.

Cool -- lotsa posts!

Ok, so by way of introducing myself, I'm Jayne. I'm 28, married to a wonderful man, and have one little boy, you guessed it, named Aaron, who will have his first birthday in a little over a week. I am a SAHM right now, but I used to be a preschool director and before that an elementary school teacher. I also give voice lessons, and have done this for the past 7 years. I've been doing WW on and off for about 5 years now, and hopefully this is the last time!

Deb, you sound so busy...I hope that you take enough time for YOU to keep your batteries charged. I know that being a mom can be draining, and so can being a student, but I can't imagine doing both together. I'm impressed with the schedule you're able to keep!

KT, be sure to post some pictures from the wedding...I want to see your nails! I'll never forget, the day after my wedding, we were in Florida rushing to catch our cruise ship, but I insisted on stopping at a drug store to get a fingernail clippers to cut the nails down to size...I couldn't scratch my itches for the life of me, or open soda cans. I was so frustrated:eek:

Lori, you're getting a puppy? What kind? Was it just born or are you still waiting for that blessed event? Fill us in! By the way, I appreciate the fact that there's one more woman in the world delivering babies...I'm sorry, but the male doctors just can't be sympathetic like the women...the male doctor who stripped my membranes right before I went into labor with Aaron told me I'd feel slightly uncomfortable and acted all irritated with me when I about went through the roof. But the female doc who delivered him was so understanding...she told me straight up that it would "hurt like ****" and it was nice to have the honesty!

Jen, you are not only a runner, you are a racer and a winner!!! I'm so proud of all the exercise you do and you really inspire me to get my hind end in gear and work on that! Tell us about your first day of school...I need the inside scoop since I may someday do that!

Belle, I would SO go belly-dancing with you! I think that is such a beautiful looking dance form. At our county pagent last weekend, the winner did belly dance for her talent...she looked so sexy! I was glad Drew wasn't there to see it!!!

Speaking of which, Jen, what belly dance tapes do you have and how do you like them? I'd love to check some out...

Lisa, I'm still cracking up about your belly dancing comment. Maybe someday they'll invent the art of @ss dancing and I'll be a natural at it in much the same way!

Tonya, I think we have a lot in common too...the whole cheesehead teacher wtih the boob-obsessed husband deal, too! Speaking of cheese, how are our Packers going to do this year? I hate living in Vikings territory!!!

Jen, you made my day, thanks for telling me I get stuff done...it sure doesn't feel like it sometimes, but whenI look around I see it done! Actually, I don't know if you've ever heard of the flylady (flylady.net) but I am a pretty loyal follower of her techniques. I set my timer and work for 15 minutes, then play with Aaron for 15 minutes. That way he's pretty happy to let me alone when it's time to work and play by himself, because he knows that I'll be back to play in a little bit. I am also pretty strict with myself about keeping things organized, because then the house seems to run itself. I shoudn't say this, because I have a limited field of information, but all of the SAHM's that I know who complain that they get nothing done don't seem to be organized or use the "little minutes" here and there, like washing the shower down as soon as you get out of it, or making your bed as soon as you're out of it. Ok, enough flylady doctrine, but I love her and I would totally recommend her to anyone!

Ok, enough of my daily novel!!!

:D

Stacy, we were posting at the same time! Congrats on stopping halfway through the muffin...I don't know that I could have been that strong! I'm glad you came out to "play" this afternoon! :D

Jen-L 08-08-2002 02:50 PM

Deb, I am a night eater also. I hate that and have a really hard time NOT doing it. I sneak eat sometimes. I notice the busier I am at night, then less I eat, so I try to do things up until I go to bed. Try it. Even if it means keeping things in your hands.

HI STACEY, welcome!!

As for me... I am 30 (yikes), married for almost 4 years, have an almost 22 month old daughter Emma (You will hear a lot about her!!!), and trying for number 2. I am in Wisconsin and work for a specialized computer software company in management. I do software training, training materials and writing, and accounts. This is a family business. If you missed my website go to:

http://www.geocities.com/browneyedjen

There isn't much there but pics at the moment because I had to totally revamp my old site due to access problems. I just don't have a lot of time to do it.

Jen-L 08-08-2002 02:55 PM

Oh I forgot... been on WW since 1998, minus 1 year while PG. YIKES... I am a very slow loser, but better having lost it than not!!

Jayne, I will look up the name of those belly dance tapes. I bought a scarf thingy for my waist and the finger bells while in FL last fall. It was at a Morrocan store. Hubby thinks I am wack! You know, since we live so close, we should meet up sometime. Where in MN are you?? I went to school on the WI and was born in Winona (actually LaCrosse, but lived in Winona at the time) and I have relatives there too.

Jen-L 08-08-2002 02:57 PM

 DOH.... Last time I promise... for now! I forgot Jayne... I tried the flylady and thought it was great, but I got tooooooo many emails and after coming home from work, I couldn't keep up with her emails. So now I just try really hard to clean one thing a night and I am doing much better. Even 15 minutes a night helps!!

aaronsmom 08-08-2002 02:59 PM

Jen, do you know I'm only about 1.5 hours west of La Crosse? We're in a tiny little town right between Mankato and Owatonna...kind of stuck in the middle of a cornfield, if you ask me! That would be fun to meet up sometime, let me know when you're in the area!

Jen-L 08-08-2002 03:04 PM

Hey guess what... Me again.

The Belly Dance videos I have are by twins Veena and Neena Bidasha. I have 2 of them and I think they are good for the basics and beginners. These are not advanced and are just to learn the basic moves. I haven't used mine in a long time. Now I am going to dig them out and start using them again. Thanks for the inspiration.

Jen-L 08-08-2002 03:06 PM

Hey Jayne.. I am in Central Wisconsin. Wausau to be exact. Hubby and I want to go to MOA sometime soon... at least before Christmas I know. So I will let you know. And I remember you said you had lived in Milwaukee.... So did I. Out of college I got a job there. Small world!!!

Did you get any corn??

TonyaLyn 08-08-2002 03:11 PM

Ok, Jayne and Jen, I have one word for you both......

OCTOBERFEST!

Bring back any memories for either of you??

TonyaLyn 08-08-2002 03:12 PM

Jen-L 08-08-2002 03:17 PM

Well Tonya, come on over and we can have a party!!!!!

aaronsmom 08-08-2002 04:51 PM

Belle2000 08-08-2002 04:54 PM

KT - OMG Bell-E dancing, that was quite cute.

I have 2 secs and I wanna play, its so cool to learn all about you guys again. I know we've done it before but we change so much that it is like new again....

Me - I am 26, living common law with b/f. I have 2 dogs, they live with my mom and a hamster, who is also living with mom for the moment, as the weather here is nuts and he either dies of heat or freezes in our apt. I am a business communicator in the oil and gas industry in Alberta, Canada. I have been on WW for 2 years, down 48.4. I have never gained any back, just had prolonged plateaus ;). I have about 40 more to go to my higest "goal weight" tha tI have chosen...

OK back to work. Keep em comin'!!

Belle
