Hey all! Ususally I am one of the last to post! DH has gone to California for a week plus on business, so I am all alone for the upcoming holiday weekend. I've decided to go home to NY to attend a briday shower. The shower is for the daughter of frinds of the family-we grew up like cousins-we are the same age, and her mom always tries to have us in competition. I just got married in April(pictures to come, I rpomise!) and she is getting married this July. we had a nice wedding-people said they had a really good time. She seems to be going completely overboard-the last I heard, they were having an ice sculpture with flowers lit from below on each table as the centerpeice. they are having over three hundred people, so that's a lot of tables. They have 6 flower girls and a gazillion bridesmaids-the wedding is costing over $50K-can you believe that??? So I wasn't sure I wanted to go to this shower and hear again all about the wedding-but I am going to go to keep my mom company.
otherwise, things are good-my house is in total disarray b/c I am trying to paint the kitchen, but I can't get a good color mix!!! The one I have now (that I am taking back this afternoon) is a petpto bismol pink-it looks horrible!!! DH is building a walk-in closet in the master bedroom, so that room is a mess of sawdust, AND we are having the hardwood floors on the ground floor sanded and refinished today, so all of the dining room furniture an dliving room furniture is in the garage and foyer!!!! Oh well!! At least I am working late so I won't have to see it!
Lexxy: Yeah I had teh exact same concerns for my mom as well.S he was sleeping 3 hours a day (as in having 3 hour naps, plus her normal night time naps) and her ankles were swollen and her bp was through the roof. She still has high blood pressure, but her energy is much better now.
Lori: I am here for today... ah don't you love people who compete against other people for no reason... When I get married, I just want a simple ceremony and dinner (I have a small family).
I am here, pretty bored. All the students are gone now. Summer break is here. Now I need to start working on projects, but no deadlines, so I can slack off alot!!
My weekend was not OP. But, I regrouped today. I have WI on Wed. morning. Hopefully this weekend was too bad.
I have my future sil's bridal shower this weekend, should be a good time. Then, my two sil's, and my future sil are all going out on the town. Should be a good time.
I finished the last of my spring cleaning this weekend. My house is spotless, and completely organzied. It is such a good feeling!!!

I had a pretty good weekend. I was only 7 points over for the WHOLE weekend. Yah me! Other than that, it is SUPER cold here and all I do is shiver. Can't even plant any flowers and stuff because it has been dropping to the 20's at night. This is ridiculous! I feel like I am in Alaska!!!
Hey guys, thought I'd come join the fun. The weekend went pretty well for me too, and I didn't overdo it on food (that much!) My life has become pretty boring, so I'll just say hi!
I finally caught up on all the posts from the last several days. Unfortunately, I'm fighting brain freeze and can't remember anything that I wanted to respond to.
This really is the season of wedding related stuff. My younger brother just got married this past weekend. The entire weekend was so much fun. I'm pretty sure that it is illegal in at least 7 states to have as much fun as I did! It was nice to see all my family (I don't live near any of them) and I adored all the attention from my brother's buddies. I'm not sure what he offered as a bribe but it must have been good because I didn't buy myself a single drink this weekend and I didn't sit out a single dance at the reception.
I've really been off program with eating the last couple weeks - to the point that I'm not even journaling anymore and this weekend rather blew my exercise regime as well. I really don't want to gain back the weight I've lost so I'm trying to dream up a motivator. I'm trying to decide if I should set a "large" goal and reward (lose 10 lbs and pay for a massage) or just a bunch of smaller ones (stay on program for 1 week and buy myself a new nail polish). Any thoughts as to which is the better method?
Hi all- I've been a bit out of it lately, just relaxing at home. Back at school now for summer session (bleh). AND I have still not heard back from any of the summer jobs I applied for, so I guess I'll have to keep looking. Diet is not going so well. Going home always does that to me! Ergh. I am going to have to think of strategies to overcome that. Any suggestions?
Just thought I'd drop in and say hello. Looks like a slow day in here today, was it a holiday or something? Working nights still, hanging in there... Can't wait to go back to days. I love the group of people I work with, but there's always so much food around. However, I've been doing remarkably well resisting temptation. I weighed on the scale here and it said 173, but that was with jeans and workboots on, so I'm hoping WI tomorrow night will be good.
