  • OK, so it's kind of late Tuesday night, not really Wednesday, but I started working my night shift Monday night and even though it's only late Tuesday night, I miss you guys!! I had WI tonight, down 4.6, whoohoo!! Didn't feel that I was doing as well as I apparently did... I think my WW leader thinks I didn't eat. He's such a jerk... I'm moved into my apartment (just have unpacking to do and haven't been even the least bit motivated to do it).

Can't really talk much tonight (too many people looking over shoulder) will be back as soon as I can...

  • Jess....hopefully you're fast asleep in bed now, but I hope you're hanging in there with the night shift. I'm sure that's tough!

Tonya, are you feeling better? Gotta get some more food in you girl!

Becky, hope you're not too stressed at work. I'm sure your BF is right and that you have nothing to worry about. I agree with JenL about the Saturday wedding, it's easier to go to if people are coming in from out of town. The bottom line is that you should have it whenever YOU want though, since it's really all about the bride, right? People will find a way to get there.

Kim, your job sounds so exciting! What made you get into crime reporting?

Angie, good luck in the job hunt - I didn't have a job straight out of school either. I did work through temp agencies for a while, and they can sometimes get you in the door of companies and then offer you full-time positions. That happened to me with one of mine, I just wasn't at all interested in the content (federal realations, ugh, lobbying).

Ok, I am really getting to work now. Hi to everyone else!
  • Hey there-
I was wondering if I could join in the group? I need to lose about 15 pounds, and it's just not moving (in fact, I have gained about ten of these pounds since January! Ugh!). Anyway, I really could use some motivation And this may sound like a stupid question. but are you all doing WW (like, the whole nine yards of paying, meetings, etc.) I did it at one point and it was really good (lost 10 pounds and they have stayed off), but there really isn't a WW that's convenient to where I live now. I think I may have all my old booklets around somewhere, maybe I will dig them out again. Anyway, you all seem great and I look forward to losing with you!

    Cat
  • Good morning ladies, (its Hump day Jen!!)

Lexy ~ What kind of work do you do?

Jess ~ Do you work swing shifts?

(Boy, am I the question girl today, or what??)

Becky ~ I think either day is fine. My brother is getting married on a Friday night, July 5th this year. I know he will have just as many people at his wedding as I had at my Sat night one, and he got a 15% discount from the reception hall for scheduling it on a Friday night. The nice thing about his is that since the wedding is on a Friday, we are having a family reunion on Sun since relatives will be in town. Just my thoughts.....

Cat ~ Welcome to the group. We are quite a group let me say!! I think for the most part all of us are following WW. But, many of us (including myself) don't go to meetings (I did that, didn't find it very inspirational) but follow it on our own.

So, where is everyone else? Kirsty, Lolly, Lori, Trish, Becky, Ali, Jen, Jen, Kier (and everyone else I forgot, sorry, I haven't drank my coffee yet this morning, and I am old....(almost 31!!).....
  • Hump Day!
Tonya - I was planning on just lurking as I'm kinda crabby today, but you reminded me that it is my day!

Not much going on here. I went running last night with this group that I started running with on Tues. nights. It's great, and I realized 2 things - when I am running with others and talking, the time goes much faster, and when I am feeling a bit tired and want to slow down, I don't. So, it is a good thing for me! I ran 4 miles last night in about 38 minutes.

I have to get some work done but I'll stop by later.

Where's Lisa??? I realized that she hasn't been around in a looooonnnnggg time. Lisa - if you're lurking, come out and say hi!
  • Jen,

    4 miles? That is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Question, do you find that during TOM you have difficulty staying within points?

I think I have gone over by one or two every day since Sunday, and yesterday, through the roof!!! I think I calculated like 41 points or something.

I felt so darn hungry, and worn out at the same time. I have noticed this over the past few months, as well. I'm trying to get through it with extra water, but apparently that's not working too well...
  • Tonya - Yeah, I just recently started running 4 miles at a time. I have been running 3 for a while, and a few weeks ago I ran a 5K (3.1 miles) and realized when I was done that it was pretty easy! That shocked me, so I decided to up my distance. There is a 10K at the end of July that I plan on running. This is the first exercise I found that I can stick to and truly enjoy, so I'm thrilled!

Cristina - Yes! I definitely have trouble staying in my points the week before TOM. It used to be just cravings, but as I've gotten older, it is physical hunger. I will wake up in the middle of the night with my stomach growling, feeling sick because I am so hungry. I do my best to watch what I eat, but end up a few points over almost every day during this time. I am a firm believer in listening to my body though, and if I am physically hungry, I am going to eat. I usually don't lose that week (and often go up a pound or so) but it all evens out in the end so I have given up worrying about it. I'm sure that doesn't help you, but I wanted you to know that you're not alone.
  • Good morning ladies, I am a tired girl this a.m. and didn't get to work until 9:40. OOPS. Actually I had a 9am chiropractic appt and I was late for that. My darling b/f was sweet enough to set my alarm for me before he left last night and he set it for pm ( my alarm clock is kinda backwards) anyways so I woke up at 8:40.

Well had a perfect day yesterday. This means that I have been good since Sat. (this is a big accomplishment for me).

Tonya-I cannot wait until I have been OP for a month. You are my hero Your bros wedding is a lot like my situation. We wanted to wait until March to get past all of the holidays and so his mother mentioned that the wknd of the 22nd is his Grandmothers 80th bday so everyone will be in town already. This is the 1st time his whole family will be together for 15 years. I love that it will be on our wedding day Anyways so I thought it might be easier for them on a Friday b/c they would have a day to recoop before the Bday party on Sunday. Who knows but thanks for the input.

Jess- 4.6 that is absolutely amazing. Good job!!!!!!!!!!! I really don't like your leader. Every time you talk about him I cringe. Either he doesn't think that you are doing well enough or you are doing toooo well.

Lexxy- thanks for the wedding input. I am going to have to see when all of his family was planning on coming in for his grandmothers b-day and kind of work around that b/c I really don't mind either day.

Cat- of course you can join in. I personally follow the plan by myself but I haven't been very successfull however I am determined now due to my upcomng wedding. I am glad you joined us

JKarr- sorry about the crabby day. I started out kind of that way but I get to leave work a bit early for my hair appt so that puts me in a better mood

Well ladies thanks so much for your input and I will try and not obsess about wedding stuff toooo much and drive you all crazy Hope that I haven't already.

Kt- I am Becky btw (grace, grace)

JenL-Good pt about out of towners.

    Becky
  • Good morning everyone (I can still say that here... barely)

I just got back from working out, so I'm in a good mood... got that out of the way! And so far, I'm going to the campus rec center (gym) illegally Since I"ve graduated, I'm supposed to pay now, but nobody's been at the desk taking cards the last two times I've gone, so I haven't had to pay yet!

Jess -- congrats on the loss! 4.6 pounds is awesome! And good luck getting used to working nights, I think that that would totally throw all of my sleep habits and everything else off!

Lexxy -- if I don't find something soon, i'm sure i'll end up doing temp too. The problem is that I'd rather not stay where I'm at, but I'd rather not move anywhere until I have a job. it's a paradox. I'd love to end up in a city like chicago (mainly) or st. louis or indianapolis. MOre to do in those places, ya know? Not like smalltown, IL where I've known absolultely everybody since i was 7 years old. So that's my dilemma, which will work itself out eventually!

CAt -- welcome! I'm a fairly new one to the board too. I'm not doing WW, I'm just watching my calories intake.

hello to everyone else out there (tonya, jenk, grace, cristina). Gotta get back to the job hunt!
  • Good Afternoon Everyone.

What is it with men? I know I'm a little rusty with the whole dating thing but it seems to me that in the past after I'd shot a guy down 10 or 11 times, he'd quit asking me out. This guy just keeps calling and e-mailing and calling some more. Unfortunately, we work for the same corporation (not same department or on the same projects or anything) so it's not like I can keep my e-mail or phone from him. Plus he seems to think somehow that we're suddenly a couple. Hello? We've known each other less than two weeks and been on one date. I really have to sit down and talk to him (UGH) rather than make-up reasons as to why I can't see him.

O.K. enough whining on my part. Sorry about that - just need to vent.

Angie - congratulations on graduating - what an accomplishment. I didn't have a job either when I graduated. I ended up moving from MI to Indy and temped while I looked for something permanent. Do you have any friends/family in any of the cities you are interested in that would let you live with them for modest rent for 3 or 4 months while you get on your feet?

Jess - Wow - 4.6 lbs - way to go! You must be so proud of yourself.

Becky - I'll bet all the future in-laws will be very appreciative that you are working so hard to pick a suitable date.

JenK - hope that your day is going well and that you are over the foul mood.

Hello to everyone else - I'm still afraid of listing of names for fear of forgetting some one.

Hey any of you Wings fans see last nights game? What happened there? I'm going to try and find a sports bar to watch game 4 in on Thursday.

Oh one more thing before I end this colossal post. Wanted to thank JenK and Lexxy for the advice on starting to run. Ran one day to see just how far I could go (only a mile and 1/2) without any breaks but am mostly working on shortening my walking intervals and not worrying about speed.

    Winter
  • Winter- A mile and a half that is great!!! Keep it up. I have heard that running is quite addictive.

Angie- good luck on the job front.

Just thought I would respond to those who posted after me! Gotta Go! OP so far today I just hope I stay motivated. I seriously think that a great portion of my motivation comes from the fact that last wknd my jeans basically cut off circulation to my brain

Well girls I will check in tomorrow I get my hair cut in an hour. Unfortunately nothing exciting it is just a trim. Once I am married though off comes the hair It's the old bait and switch!
    Just kidding, well sort of

    Becky
  • Hey girls,

It's good to see everyone posting today! I'm supposed to be doing a million things right now, but I I'm with JenK, feeling a bit crabby, so I will post instead to cheer me up.

Tonya, I have the most boring job in the world. I work for one of those huge consulting companies and I test computer applications for a goverment agency. It bores me to tear so I have a very short attention span. I plan to make a career change pretty soon, I just don't know to what

Angie, I know what you mean about the burbs - I lived at home my first summer out to save some $ and then moved down to DC - with no job. I kind of did things backwards.

Winter and Jen, awesome on the running! I really need to get back into it by training for a race or something.

Cristina, I totally overeat right before my TOM. I don't count points, but I count calories and I definitely see a big difference.

    Hi Cat, welcome.

It looks like everyone rocked on the challenge so far, especially Jess with her 4.6 lbs I can't stand Jess' WW leader either....once you get to goal, you should become a leader and get his butt out of there!
  • Ok, I'm TOTALLY fighting the urge to go over to the coffee station and grab a doughnut. Someone must've had leftovers from a meeting.

I hope they get eaten soon! DAMN TOM!
  • Hi!

Wow - two days in a row no internet police in the office!

Becky - Holy brain lapse! Sorry about that. Good luck setting the date.

Staying OP today. I'm trying to lose 10 more by the weddings in august but they've been going soo slow. I've got to stop cheating. My friend who got me started on WW and then left the program has gained some weight back and is not happy - she's one of the brides this summer. Any helpful hints on how to boost her spirit - and willpower? We're making WW bran muffins this weekend (excercise is out - she's injured) What gave you guys the most encouragement when you were having a rough time?

Jess - Way to GO!!! Ignore the nasty leader - one day you'll be a lifer and can take over.

Jen - isn't it great how a little socialization can make 4 miles go by so quick - good work!

Oh Great - IP are back early - I'll check in tomorrow.

    KT
