Default Feisty and Sexy 50 and 60's Year Olds #164

Glenda: Im sure you are happy your electricty is finally back. Im sure it was miserable with out it. Your kids would enjoy some of the stuff. I know I chersih the stuff I received from my grand parents.

Jenye: Trudy is right. Its always 80 degress in Hawaii. Its wonderful....Alas....... I wish I was there instead of here where it is cold.

Trudy: I do enjoy working for WW. It is motivating when you see how happy people are. It is also keeping me on track. So glad your mom is doing well. Tylenol is the only thing I can take. When I take the stronger stuff they give you I always get really sick. Strange how it effects different people.

Ann: Your show sounds like so much fun. Your coming up with some great ideas! Wish I could see it.

Best run Im suppose to be in a meeting.

Talking A rainy rainy day!

It was good to have rain we need it so much.

Lily: Thank you for the new thread. It was getting pretty long 3 pages.
I need something to keep me on track. Some friends just got back from England, and they had a reception at their home. Lots of goodies, and the calories were not taken out of any of them Hard to resist. I'm just a weakling when it comes to peanuts, or any kind of nuts for that matter. Hard to say.

Cool here today. The cold front is what brought the rain I guess.

Glenda: I'm sure your kids will appreciate having some keepsakes from family. I know my girls were disappointed when then did not get any remembrances from their fathers side of the family when their grandparents died. Their Dad was the 'black sheep' to the family, his sister was the favored one, so our family was always 2nd place, and the sister and her family got it all. It was hard for them to understand, until they got older.

Hi everyone. See you tomorrow. Ann

Hi gang, I just had some extra time so I went back and your posts. Trudy I am so glad your mom is doing o.k. What a trooper she is. I didn't realize that Tylenol gave you restless leg. Sometimes I take it and my legs twitch for hours. Maybe that is the cause. How are you doing with all the running and all? Take care of yourself too. Ann your group does the funnest things. I would love to see your thing with all the songs about food. The only one I can think of is the one about "on top of spaghetti all covered with cheese." Lily you are always working. I think you work too hard. We are having a nice warm day today. Have to outside doing something. How is your receptionist job going? Glenda now I know I have to do one of those mystery weekend things. Sounds like too much fun. Had a great time in Louisville the other day. She lives in part that has a street full of little shops of crafts and antiques and tea rooms. I definitely have to go back. Dee if you are back tell us about your trip. See you all later,

Ann: Dont you just hate it when they dont take the calories out
We all have are weaknesses. But you arent doing it every day and that what counts. We all need to enjoy things. Cant live the rest of our lifes with out them.

Peggy: The receptionst job is going well. I really do enjoy it. I dont even consider it a job. The time goes by so fast you dont even know it. Its only 2 hours twice a week. And those 2 hours are non stop. Wish I could afford to just do more meetings and quit this, but Alas I cant.

Its a beautiful day here today. Maybe spring is coming? Nahhhhhh. Would be nice tho! Dont think we are doing anything fun this weekend. DH is going to some car show. Not me! Dont like those things!

Have a great day all!

Default I am in Sydney............

G'day all,

We arrived in Sydney this afternoon and we have unpacked and before I make dinner I just had to check the board.
I have missed being able to get on line and it was good to read everyone's posts.

We had a great trip to Sydney going through the 'Outback', one of the reasons I was unable to get on line anywhere.
The roads were pretty bad but our 4x4 wheel drive handled it well. I did a lot of the driving because of dh's leg. We drove for hours without seeing a soul and the only thing to concentrate on was the wild life. We came across so many kangeroos and many dead ones along the side of the tracks where eagles were having a feast. I am pleased to say that we manage to avoid hitting any ourselves. We came across lots of emus, ferel goats, sheep, cattle, camels and wild horses. I have taken some photo's, I will post them when I get a chance.
We stayed in an opal town called White Cliffs, population 300 and 95% of the population lives underground because of the searing heat. We stayed in an underground motel, very basic but interesting.
We have been extremely lucky with the weather, especially in view of all the flooding that is occuring at the moment around Sydney. I heard about the bad weather that hit Melbourne Jenye pleased to hear it is more pleasant now. Weather in Sydney is raining but warm.
We never saw that much evidence of the bad bushfires that were here so recently, amazing how the country side recovers so quickly.

Something else........... DH and I have decided to really get serious about loosing some weight. Tomorrow morning we are getting on the scales and taking photo's of each other side on. These of course will NOT be posted on the net
DH doesn't have to loose much but because of being inactive with his leg he has put on a few pounds . We are going to journal everything we eat and will allow ourselves alcohol one day per week. Where we are staying is an indoor pool and a gym so no excuse for not excercising.
Monday I will start seeing employment agencies and see what is available for this 'old dear'.

See ya all tomorrow...........
Cheers
Maria

2 hours later..............
PS. for those of you interested I have posted pictures of our trip in the album called 'for my cyber friends'.

Talking .. I'm here...

Wish I could be in Maui like "somebody else", but it is not in the cards. We sure can't complain about the weather, it has been really mild and sunny.... what a strange winter we are having.
Maria the 50 C temp at White Cliffs must be unbearable. I have seen documentaries on the underground living in the Outback. It does look cozy, but I don't know how I would feel about going underground. I never go on the mine or cave tours when we travel... in fact I hate going into underground parking. I feel so claustrophobic. Good luck to you and your DH on the weight loss... I do believe that faithfull journaling is important.

Yesterday we went to the mall and I bought another pair of slides/clogs to try. These are are very comfortable, not like the ones I took back. I think I will keep these. I get a kick out of the names they give the style of shoes... these are called "Fudge" made by Clark's. Unlike you Karen wearing your clogs all winter, I won't wear mine till spring arrives... I thought of you yesterday when I purchased them .

We rented "Traffic" and watched it last night. It was interesting, but I really didn't like it. There was a lot of mumbling and when they showed Mexico, the color was kind of yellow and there were sub-titles. Did anyone else see it and enjoy it?
Nothing exciting going on here... I was thinking of baking something tasty, maybe some Blueberry Scones.

I will check back later to see who turned up... bye.

Nice to 'see' you Trudy

I have never heard of the movie 'Traffic' but then I don't watch many movies. I cannot even remember the last movie I saw in a picture theatre. I am just super sensitive to noise (says dh ) and whenever I do go, there is always someone crunching away on chips, slurping their drink or talking

Just a bit of gossip, the crew and stars for the movie Matrix 2 are staying in these apartments. I wasn't even aware of the movie being filmed at the moment . Now if I was to bump into Keanu Reeves.................

I have made a few phonecalls and have a few appointments tomorrow for temp. work. So who knows!

There was a big parade here yesterday to celebrate the Chinese New Year, the year of the Horse. It was very colourful.

Off to the library now.

See ya all
Cheers

Its been a while since I posted. One of my uncles passed away this passed week . He was a loner and was alone when he passed. Breaks my heart as no one should die alone. It's lucky that a neighbor was able to get in contact with his X- wife. She was able to contact one of my Aunts or we would never know what happened. Like I said he was a loner. And lived a life of going from one place to another . Married a few times but it always ended in divorce. He liked women and women liked him. He could leave the house with a nickel and some gal some where would take him in. He was 62.

Then we also got word of another uncle who has been in the hospital. Was doing great then took a turn for the worse but last word he is getting stronger . He has been sick a long time and is 76 I think. Not been a real happy week for my family.

Been keeping busy with Weight Watchers. Received part of my order for the 7 meetings that I do and wound with with a living room full of 2 point Bars. Finally finished getting the inventory straight. What a mess. I've decided to buy a fax machine. Weight Watchers perfers that method of ordering. and after the last two weeks and the mess I had I understand why. So even if I only use it once a month it will be better than to phone in the order. Most times you get the voice mail and that is what messes up the whole deal

Maria I checked out your picture page . You see kangaroos road side and we see deer an moose. Don't think I would like living under ground. Glad your trip went well.

Lily I could sure use you at my Thursday meeting this month. Any chance you can stop by? All of my Receptionist are on vacation so I've been scowering the state looking for help It's been a real picnic but so far so good. Just let me get through the next few weeks and they will all be back. Was able to recruit a couple of ladies one as receptionist and one wants to be a leader but will train as a recp. first. Oh the life and trials of a WW leader

My youngest son is back in TX working. He is home every other weekend. He 's the one with the pregnant wife. She looks like she just might pop any day now. Doctor doesn't expect her to go until her due date in March Her last one was born really fast and this time we expect it to go even faster. She is one of these girls who doesn't have a lot of labor pain. She just feels funny. I'm hoping for another girl. Keep your fingers crossed.

Well I guess I'll go to bed again and see if I can sleep this time.

Default from a very excited person!!!!!!!!

Hi all,

I cannot believe it but I am back in the workforce starting this Thursday as a 'corporate receptionist' for a company called INVEST AUSTRALIA. It is a full time position till probably late July.
The building is situated right on the harbour, a nice walk from where I live.
I have already worked it out that I have to work 10 weeks to be able to buy my super duper sewing machine

Nice to see you post Karen but sorry to hear about your uncle. You do sound awfully busy with your WW meetings etc.
Good luck with another grand daughter , sounds like the way to have babies when they come that quick.

Keep well all
Cheers

Wow Maria, now you are a working girl. You will do great. How nice to be on the harbour and be able to walk. You will be getting your exercise and will be working towards that great sewing machine. How sad for the kangaroos. Better watch out for Lily-now she is after Keanu. What happened to Tom? Trudy I have a pair of clogs that I wear now but it isn't as cold here as it is where Karen is. Of course I wear them with socks. I haven't seen Traffic but it is was filmed here in town. There was some kind of hullabaloo [?] over the school being named in it. Karen I am sorry to hear about your uncle. It is sad to be so alone. Here's hoping you find a receptionist for your meetings. Maybe you could fly Lily in. And don't be tempted by all those WW bars in your living room. What temptation. Where is everyone else? Maybe they are all watching the Olympics. I try to catch a little of it everyday. Have to run, See you all later,

All - sure is nice to come back after a few days and read and see what everyone is doing. We went to my last uncle's on Friday and stayed until Sunday. He lives in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Bless his heart, he has had to move to an assisted living center and has to sell his house. We took the little stuff that he had designated for us. I was sort of amazed at how full our cars were--sister, brother and us. We were the last in the convoy and saw their cars were almost on the ground. We just had so many books. I am so glad that my mother never had to see her "stuff" carried out of her house. That has to have been so hard for him.

My son and his baby were in a wreck last night. They are both fine--Kyle is pretty sore, but Austin is just fine. Kyle was turning left and a car hit right in the passenger's side. Kyle was so upset about losing his truck, but we are so thankful they weren't hurt.

Maria - I couldn't see your pictures--they had too much activity on the website, but to think you see kangaroos and emus just going across your road is amazing. We live in such different parts of the world. Here you would see a chicken or a deer. Glad you got a job and can soon buy your sewing machine.

Karen - your son working in Texas sure has a long commute, doesn't he? Is he just sent around to work at different places? I hope he makes it back to be with her before the baby is born.

Well, sure am envious of you-know-who. We go to Arkansas; she goes to Maui. Oh well!

Default still on cloud 9..........

and I cannot wait to start tomorrow!

I was up early this morning and went to have swim on the 5th floor but no Keanu

Peggy I just don't know about Lily a bit fickle I think switching from Tom to Keanu just like that

I wonder how Slavika is getting on, soaking up the sun no doubt.

It is a rainy day here in Sydney but who cares I am too busy getting ready for work tomorrow like 'defuzzing', doing my nails, doing my roots etc. etc. A girl's work is never done.
The other great thing is that I am so excited that I don't even feel like eating!

I must be off, just got an email to say Glenda has posted.

Cheers all
Maria
