  • Its about 1:21 i the am so ofcourse Im up and in the middle of moisturizing I had to wait till 12 to watch sex and the city on hbo west so that my gramma would be in bed (NEVER watch sex in the city with parents lest they find you Chuckling at errr inappropriate things
anyway me dears my Secret single behavior Is the same as charlottes on tonights show Cept i dont have a magnifying mirror
I inspect my pores for about 15-20 min and determine if i have to exfoliate or not-- speaking of which does anyone know a good exfoliator?
I meant to detox myself this weekend with tons of water and salad etc and I let myself get seriously sidetracked which is why my gastronomic trauma is keeping me up this late. Also its the first time allday i havent been not babysitting but keeping my gramma company (I love her but she drives me nuts) and she drives me to eat i wentto town on some candy my sis bought for her that i want her to take upstairs so i dont have to see it
then ofcourse I see my reflection in the door and I feel like the before in a slimfast ad Instead of feeling all doom and gloom I picked my arse up went to the kitchen and got some water
so one of my goals was met 2 liters of water today Tommorrow or rather today is a new day and a fresh Start to Kick some ARSE!
  • let's kick some arse!
    hi guys! happy new year!!
so - how are we all doing?
TRISH - CONGRATS ON THE WEE ONE! i can't wait to hear all about it. hope you, hubby and baby alexander are doing well!
sarah - 21 weeks eh? how exciting! keep us posted on how you're doing.
ooh, before i forget, you guys were talking about boxing day. which we get as a holiday in the uk as well (prob cos we started it?) anyhow, according to the dictionary
Boxing Day: (in parts of the Commonwealth) a public holiday celebrated on the first day (strictly, the first weekday) after Christmas Day. —ORIGIN mid 19th cent.: from the custom of giving tradespeople a Christmas box (gift) on this day.
so there you go. any excuse for a holiday is fine by me. we get extra holidays this year cos of the queen's golden jubilee!
speaking of festive things - any good new year's resolutions out there? i've decided that it is better to have a positive than a negative one. ie rather than give up chocolate, eat more fruit and veg and so on. mine is to have 365 shags this year. ye cannae beat a bit o the old hochmagandy!
belle - was it you who got delayed on a plane? so many delays over the festive period. my exflatmate got bumped off her plane home cos it was overbooked, BF was stuck sitting in one for 4 hours waiting to take off last week and i was delayed flying back to london from scotland. it was so annoying since not only was the plane delayed for a few hours, but when we arrived it took 40 minutes before they brought some stairs to get us off the darn thing! and then to make matters worse they lost my luggage and i didn't get it back for 5 days! i was fuming. no financial compensation (although i have written a letter to them so we'll see). i had to spend new year's eve in old clothes since all my nice sparkly clothes and shoes were in my suitcase! i then said i was never flying again, only to find BF has bought me a flying lesson as an xmas pressie! doh!
ali, kierie - good on you for getting out of relationships that weren't good for you. you'll both have to come over to london and check out my single male friends! anyone else that wants to come visit blighty is more than welcome.
i can't wait for summer. at the moment i am snacking too much - winter weather does it for me. i'm determined to control myself though. starting from... now! lots of water and low-point things.
ooh, and yoga. who else here has been doing yoga? it's great - i totally recommend it. i am going to get back into my exercise routine this week, although early mornings are not my strong point, esp when it's still so dark.
i think i've waffled enough here. i'll come back later on and chat more (you have been warned!). so a big hello to stacey, tonya, jen, lolly, kim, rina, kt and everyone i missed cos my boss is coming and i better get working!

  • Rina: Just remember that we're always here for you and all! I am glad things seem to be turning back to normal for you (well relatively speakings, I also wish my brother didn't have the problems which he has).Take care and good luck this week.

Belle: Well me and my ex have decided to remain friends and all. Yeah I was getting so stressed so early in the relationship that it just wasn't worth it. Eek, I had such a bad trip on Air Canada the last time I went to Calgary, that wasn't any fun at all, the flight attendants were about to go on strike so that didn't help any either. Man, you must be tired.... try and get some rest when you can and take care.

Kirsty: yeah, now I am getting more tempted to find some time to get to the UK. It completely depends on how my summer job situation goes. If I start in June, I'll most likely go, but if I start in May, then there's really no way. Next year though will be my grandma's 90th bday so maybe I'll go then. I am trying to groove myself into a fitness regiment.

KO: hmmmm my secret behaviour? Hmmmmm, I guess I am not the neatest person under the sun... I tried to hide that like crazy

Eek, I got up at 6am this morning for an 8am class and the teacher DIDN'T show up!!!! Can you believe that... grrr... I ended up not going to the gym yesterday evening. I walked to and from work and then at work we were spring cleaning. That was plenty enough exercise right there!

    Take Care Y'all!

    Ali
  • Hello!
Hey all! I have been seriously MIA but I have been lurking! Congratulations Trish!
I was off program for the week between X-mas and New Years but got back on track last week and plan to WI this week! It's been more than three weeks so we'll see what I have to pay WW to rejoin....but I am going back!!! I weighed myself at home yesterday and it looks like I am down...but we'll see...
My first wedding dress fitting is Feb 9th...so i have until then to lose as much as possible and tone, tone, tone!!!!
I have been MIA b/c I have been super busy with wedding planning and also searching for a house! two very stressful things to be doing at the same time...I'm actually more stressed about the house than the wedding at this point! I feel like we are soing welll wedding planning-wise...we are starting to send out invitations next week or the week after.,...
I was in the craft stores this past weekend-I am making my own pew bows! Can't believe how much they charge for those things!!!! I can make them for 1/4 the cost! And get them the way i want them!!! The unity candles are also a rip off!! $30 for two tapers and a large candle with ribbons tied around them! I bought two taper for 69 cents each and a thing of ribbon for a dollar Now all I need is the big candle-$5 at most!!! $30!!!Are they kidding????
Anyhow-I'm going back now to read the posts that I have missed!! But I wanted to say hi and let you all know I am still here!!!!
  • Hey ladies,

    Hope your weekends were nice.

KO - I'm not sure I get what the poll means. I'm kinda slow. Sex in the City was a good one. I can't wait to see next weeks.

Kirsty - 365 shags??? I'm jealous. I'd like to get in one or two. I can't seem to find ANYONE. I think living in Boston is the problem. Too many beautiful people for them to chose from so they just get picky. I don't know.

Ali - that does suck. When I went to BU, we had the 15-minute rule. If the prof doesn't show within 15 minutes, we take off. It was of course, unofficial and the one time we used it the prof got pissed and decided to give a pop-quiz. So we all got zeros. Sucks.

SO - my weekend went well. I had one alcoholic beverage with diet coke, so that was only 2-points. I've been driving places (even if we could take the T) just so I have the excuse of being the designated driver. I'm saving myself points and $$.

I ate within my poitns ranges everyday since Tuesday except last Friday. I went to the gym 3X (I was hopig for four - which I'll get to later). And I banked to make up for Friday - so things should look good.

This is my awful story - the worst part for me is getting to the gym. Once I'm there, I'm happy I'm there, I have a great workout and when I leave I'm so happy I went. It's just getting there. It's me being confortable at home and not wanting to expend the energy to go to the gym. So yesterday after all day telling myself I didn't have to go, I mustered up enough energy and made myself go. At 6:30 I dragged my butt off the couch and went to the gym. Yeah me, right? Well, I get all the way to the gym. Go in and start to get dressed when I realize I don't have my gym shoes and I'm wearing my black boots, so there was no way I could work out in them. BLEH! The gym closes at 8:00 on Sundays, so going home and coming back would have left me with practically no time. I'm still bummed about it.

Anyway, today I'm going to the gym. I'm excited because there's a new class for the Rebok Core Board. It's basically strength training on a balanced core board. And it's a bit of cardio, but not much. I'll see what I think about earning points... but it just looks fun.

I weigh in tomorrow for the first time since Dec 11, and I'm a bit nervous! Our WW at Work session took a break from the 11th until tomorrow. I'm hoping for decent results. I'm bracing myself for a gain, but I'm guessing it will be only 1-2 pounds. I'd love to see a loss, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

Anyway ladies I hope you have great days!!

    Lisa
  • Just caught up
Just caught up on the weekend posts!! Ali-Hope you are doing ok! you sound like you are being very positive...I liked being single once I started looking at it from the mercenary point of view-free food and drinks!!! the anticipation can also be a lot of fun!!!

Belle-Glad things went ok with BF's ex over the holidays!
Rina-hugs!!!! hope things with bro are better!!
    Kim-DID you get a ring????
  • me again
    hello,
things are a bit quiet at work right now - but i know that'll change in about half an hour. ho hum. only a couple of hours till home time!
ali - i hate it when the teacher doesn't show up. was this an exercise class or a school class? i want to start doing yoga wed mornings, but if i have to get up at 6am to get there on time i want to know the class will definitely be on!!
ali and rina - hope your brothers are ok. such a difficult thing to cope with in both cases.
lori - good to hear from you! do let us know how the dress fitting goes. hooray for you making all the stuff yourself - sounds like you'll save lots of money.
hi lisa, i'm sure you'll meet someone who appreciates you! just don't look for him and he'll turn up! good luck weighing in. same goes to anyone about to weigh in this week.
belle - glad to hear that it wasn't too bad with his ex turning up. maybe she'll start to let him go now.
rightyho. back to work i go!
ooh, i got sent an email today about how to tell if you are an american. if you americans promise not to get offended i'll post it!
    kirsty
  • NO, I didn't get a ring. Believe me, if I had you guys would have been among the first to know! (Besides my mom and sister, of course!) BF and I are going away this weekend, so who knows. We're going to a UNC-UVa basketball game in North Carolina. It's his birthday present from me. I had arranged with a friend who covers the UNC basketball team to get me tickets, something came up and he can't now, but we're going anyway and are going to try to buy some tickets from scalpers! Should be interesting.

Ali: You sound very upbeat about the break-up, so it must have been the right thing. Good luck! Have fun being single!

Rina: Sorry things have been so tough with you brother. Hang in there.

Belle: So how are things with BF?

Well, back to my autoerotic asphxiation research.
  • Kirsty Gwan and post it!
Yoga sounds fabu I want to try that or tai chi btw LOVe the resolution and think of the points you'll earn
Lori! whats your dress like??? you little craft wizard!
Tilley (lisa) a secret single behavior is basically something you do when no ones around that you'd die if a man you were interested in found out-- does that rebock class involve staying balanced or just strength training--- and one more thing girlie about the beautiful ppl you are one of em and dont forget it!
Ali All I have to say is I Shove anything and everything under beds and in closests
so far so good wth food nd water today 1 egg with ff cookingspray and 2 sips of coffee with light cream so I'll give a pt for that

  • Hey Girls, I didn't exactly catch up on all of the posts but I read the wknds and todays. It sounds like we are all hanging in there. Lots of relationship stuff going on. I have had a wonderful time with b/f (still no official title but he's wonderful )
Anyways, we have been back in the together all of the time mode since he finished his classes. It has been great b/c I have that whole beginning of the relationship thing where you lose weight b/c your happy or whatever that is. I am at 168 or was 2 days ago. Yesterday I did have a major set back I comfort ate. I was at home it was cold and I rented a sappy movie and pigged out. Arby's Chicken Finger combo's UHHH they are sooo good. Anyways, I ate quite poorly which is a bummer b/c I have been doing so well. What really sucks is once you eat like that you crave all of that crap again. Oh well I am semi-determined today. I need to get back in thedetermined mode. I am excited thought because I haven't broke below 170 in a few years. YAY! Now I am excited to get below 165 and under 160 I may lose my mind when that happens OK sorry I am just excited. B/f started student teaching today which is exciting but he will be quite busy now b/c he will be teaching from 7:30-2:30 or 3ish and then have to work. I don't really work into this schedule however he apologized for shutting me out last time when he was busy so hopefully this time around he will make more me time.

Kirsty- I love yoga. I don't think I could do that at 6am though b/c I always feel sooo relaxed afterward I just want to crash.

Lisa. Sounds like you have been doing so well. What a bummer about the gym. I went a couple of weeks ago right after work so I just threw clothes into a bag and when I got to the gym I quickly pushed my foot into my sock b/c I was in a hurry and my foot ripped right through. I was sooooo aggravated b/c I grabbed my roomates worn out socks. Anyways I just worked out with them ripped through b/c I had rushed so much to get there I couldn't bear the thought of not going to the class.

Lori D- You little Martha Stewart you! We did the same thing for my sister's weddings. You have to cut back where you can b/c there are better things to spend the $ on. Pictures, video etc.. I hope that your fitting goes well. How Exciting!!!

Kieri- Good luck today. I feel for you being home is such a temptation. When I used to babysit during college I would pig out all day. I hope that you have a perfect WW day

Trish congrats on the baby. HOw precious.

Belle- Glad that all went well with the family. I had an ex experience over the holidays also. Uhh they are so aggravating. My sister is good friends with b/f's ex however she lives a few hrs away so they don't really hang out which is good. New years day though b/f came over and we were watching movies with a couple other of my guy friends and she came by. She came in and we were being snuggly. She has no idea that we are even into each other. She was always somewhat jealous of me when we were dating b/c b/f and I liked one another b4 they dated and remained friends afterward but it really wasn't anything and that was 5 years ago. But I digress, it was awkward and I hated it. I tried not to act weird but b/f said I just kind of hid. I just hung out in my room with my other sister. Anyways, God forgive me but I was kind of glad that she doesn't look very good. B/f mentioned it to me which made me feel good. I know that is catty and shallow but oh well. Anoywas I am glad that your b/f's ex got the picture everytime you used to tell us she called I would be aggravated for you so maybe she will leave him alone.

Wow this was a marathon post so I will go now but I will check in later.
  • Hi Guys! Wow, so many posts! I haven't been posting much either lately, but I have been lurking - doing lots of work, I'm stepping up the pace on my PhD thesis. Gotta get it done by summer! Although today I did make a batch of oatcakes and some bolognese sauce, all very low-point and virtuous. Yippee

Becky, Belle, Lori, Kirsty: good to see you all again Ali, Kier, enjoy your new-found singleness and your 'me' time Sorry to hear about people's family troubles, I hope the New Year brings better times. And TRISH! We HAVE to see a picture of Alexander (you didn't call him Noel !). I hope the three of you are having a wonderful time together!

    Anyway, better dash...
    Hugs!
    Lxxx
  • Hey, girls, I forgot to mention, I actually ate well all weekend! Saturday I decided I was really tired of eating crap. For lunch I had a salad, then for dinner I made something for me and BF (chicken with potatoes and peppers) out of this low-fat cookbook I have. Sunday, I had an English Muffin with an egg cooked in fat free spray for breakfast, home-cooked fries for lunch (slice a potato, add spices, then bake), some microwave popcorn for a snack and for dinner, stuffed flouder I made myself! I used just a little stuffing mix, then added crabmeat and lots of mushrooms. I served it with rice and asparagus. Yummy! BF thinks I'm a gourmet cook now.

So the only BAD food I had all weekend was margaritas. BF had a craving so went out and bought the fixings. I had one Sat. night and one Sun. night.

Already today, I've done well. Yogurt and strawberries for breakfast, pea soup, salad and a few small pieces of bread for lunch. I think I may rejoin WW sometime this week. Hopefully there's still free registration.

Oops. My editor just walked in for lunch so I better get moving. My story, because it's about sex, has to be read VERY VERY closely because of our "sensitive" editors!
  • WOW! We sure are chatty today, that is great!!!

Everything is good with me, been staying OP all week, and all weekend, except yesterday, but I banked points all last week, so I am not worried. I am hoping to lose the 2 pounds I gained over the holidays this week's WI. We will see.

I don't have time to post to everyone right now, but hope to be back later!!

    See ya chickies!
  • I gained 1.6 at WI, but don't feel like I did. I ahve been exercising so much and putting on muscle, I think it just kind of happened. I am tired of the scale not moving tho. I have been up and down 2 pounds since Nov. I am also not getting much from my leader lately either. So not sure where to go from here!

As for Trish, she hasn't been on-line since the baby was born because her puter crashed. Hopefully she will be back on-line soon.

Welcome back Kirsty... and Belle... and all the lurkers.
