Smile Fabulous 40's #98

Hi Girls

Sunday is already here. Whewww, weekend went quick! My last week of work then I'll be off the folllowing. I love it! I wish I could shop some more but I ran out of money I could use credit cards but I don't want to get myself in a hole like I did one year. Oh well<sigh>

I have to try & get to the gym today. Pete's hours at work changed so I don't know if we could keep going together. He said it won't be a problem but I think we'll be rushing. His new shift is 7:00 pm till 3:00 am. We usually leave the gym at 6:00. I guess we'll have to try it & see if it gives him enough time. He starts tomorrow. It's going to seem weird not having him here at night.

Till later

Love,
Es

I'm confused, I could have sworn I wrote a post on the previous thread yesterday, but today I don't see it. Oh well!

Es, how long will Pete be on those hours? It'll be a big change for you guys, good luck. I don't blame you about the credit cards. Last year I didn't use them at all and it's a relief to not have those bills come rolling in in January; didn't use them this year either. I still have shopping to finish up tomorrow and Tuesday! I am determined to get it all done this week. And I forgot about the kids who live behind us, their little girl is Brandon's best friend when he's here and we've become friends with her parents......so now I've got more names on my list. LOL it never ends.

HI to everyone. Hope you're enjoying a great weekend.

Afternoon ladies,

Well I'm taking a quick break from studying so I thought I'd check in with you guys. Actually I think I've taken more breaks than I have been studying!!! Oh well, hubby is asleep for a few hours so I'm gonna hit the books then. Probably will stay up late studying tonight and sleep in tomorrow, then start studying again in the morning.

ES, your husbands hours will be a big adjustment. Maurice goes to work at 9:00 pm and is suppose to get off at 5:30. He is having a major problem adjusting, he has never worked nights before. I do miss having him around at night to snuggle up to, more than I thought. He may get to change out shifts in six months with the other man he works with. Hope you guys can manage your work out together.

Sounds like everyone is almost done with Christmas shopping. I finished up ours last night. Next week once finals are over, we are putting up the Christmas tree and wrapping presents. I can't wait, I'm really getting excited about decorating this year.

Well I better hit the books, ya'll take care.

Hello

I just finished wrapping gifts & I'm ready to relax. Pete is out like a light. The only bad thing about him falling asleep before I do Is his snoring!!! You think I'd be use to it after all these years. Well, with his new hours I'll be able to sleep(I think)!

Ruth, years ago he useto work nights but my son was living at home. He'll be in training for 3 months then he'll decide if he wants to stay or not. I could relate with being excited to decorate & wrap gifts. I enjoy this time of year so much.

Jen, the girl David's been seeing has 2 kids & I'm thinking about getting them a little something. I've only seen them twice for a brief moment. I'll see.

Well, I'm turning in for the night. Be back tomorrow evening.

Hugs,
Es

I'm bad. Hardly did any Xmas shopping yet, which is understandable since my monthly freelance checks have not come through yet. I better see some money this week.

I hope all are doing well.

Hi everyone!
I have been AWOL! We did lots of family stuff this weekend.

Dianne,
I was reading about your confusion about our Football plans.
I grew up and my mom still lives on the eastern border of Ohio and it is only 60 miles from Pittsburgh PA. You can drive through 3 states in 20 minutes where we live. Wheeling W.Va. is only 2 miles from my house. And Detroit is playing in Pittsburgh. So we will go early and PARTY!!!! My Steelres beat the Jets yesterday and are now the best in the AFC. They are 10 -2. YAY!!!
Sorry got carried away.

Thanks Jen,
I will bundle up. It will be cold. Never looked so forward to being cold in my life.
I am sorry about the Bears. They still have a great record and are playoff bound. I don't think I want the Steelers and Bears in the Super Bowl together. We might not make it out of here alive.

Essie,
Your santa was adorable!
@home went bankrupt I heard and that is who Patti/Zoe's used.
So Patti please let us know you are ok!!!!!
Hope y'all adjust to Pete's hours. I'll bet that is hard.

JanieD,
You are so right. It is great when the teachers are proud of our kids. Congrats. I love it and I am cloud 9 when they say inspiring things about my kids. You should be proud.

Ruth,
You can do it. The 4 weeks will be rougher but if you do some of the things you plan to do you are better for it. You are doing a great job. It is hard to juggle everything. Good luck!
I can imagine how hard it is not to have hubby around to snuggle with. Before long you will be able to snuggle up again.
Good luck with school.

Myra,
Happy Hanukkha! I hope you are feeling better and that your checks come in. That is awful!

Congrats on everyone finishing decorating etc... I am finished with everything but the wrapping. Of course the little things I forgot. Odds and ends. Our Christmas is this Saturday. We have an early Christmas because we travel to Ohio. It feels so much like Christmas when we do this that I forget stores ARE OPEN!!

We weighed in and I lost 1 #. Not bad for no exercising. Being sick last week helped.
Brandon lost 1#
Britts lost 2#

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Myra,
Let me see how did I e-slueth you out. First of all you live in Monroe, NY. I dated a Jewish guy from Monroe when I was in college, and he gave me the impression that it was a largely Jewish community. Second Clue: When we were all talking about what we have for Christmas Dinner, you were decidedly quiet on the subject. Clue Three: You were the only person who mentioned having to get ready for Chanukah as well as Christmas. I had more to do to get ready for Chanukah this year than usual. On Friday night my cat knocked the Manorah (sp?) off of the mantel and smashed it. I had to run out to get crazy glue and try to put it back together before Steve saw it. Mission accomplished and we had candles, dreidel and Ellen's first night gift last night. SO much for the grinch that stole Chanukah. I had never heard of using Sweet potato in latkas either. That sounds really good. I will have to try it this time.

Hi everybody,
Thank you all for the kudos for Ellen. She is my little angel. Today she is home from school because she has a slight fever. She seems ok otherwise. Hopefully she'll be able to go back tomorrow.

Terri,
Congrats for the WI. I thought you were on maintenance why the 1# loss? I am just jealous because I am not on maintenance and that is all I've been able to do lately

Hugs to all
JanieD

Hello my buddies

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDY! Hope you have a great day!

Es - wow, its gonna be strange for you with Pete gone in the evening. I know that when willie goes to a concert with Justin and doesn't come home until like 3 in the morning, I can't sleep well. I go on line, read, watch t.v.,etc. Funny, when the kids were at home it didn't bother me as much. Well, I'm sure you'll get used to it.

Myra - Happy Hanakkah to you. Do you really get 8 gifts or is that just for the kids?

Terri - thanks for the explanation on the football stuff, I really understand now (NOT!), lol.

I'm home today - ate something that didn't agree with me last night and was up half the night - too tired to go to work. Think I'll wrap the grandkiddies presents. I better get started, there are so many, I won't be done in time for Christmas Eve Saw little fat piggy Jessalyn Jade yesterday - she's sooooo funny - she stares at us for about 2 hrs. before she finally cracks a smile! She's a tough audience to work, I don't think she's sure if she likes us or not She's so cute with that Red hair and blue eyes, and fat cheeks! I want to bite her so bad but her mom won't let me

Well, guess I better get to wrapping - hi to Jen, Joyce, Ruth, Janie, Zoe (where are you girl? - miss you) and anyone I may have missed.

Hugs,
Dianne

Hi all,

Thank you for the warm welcome. I am going to need to work really hard on WW and on getting to know everyone. This seems like such a close knit and supportive group. I am frankly having a rough start with getting back on program. But persistance will be my motto.

We celebrated my birthday today by going out for a nice lunch, steamers, and broiled fish with rice and veggies, but I did have a caramel flan for dessert, and I have yet to calculate the points, I may need to eat a 0-pt dinner. Mike, my husband took the day off to take me out, as he was very much occupied with a Christmas concert with his brother. The final performance is tonight (actually one more to go after that on New Year's eve).

We are a half and half family, I am Jewish and Mike is Catholic. We try to maintain our traditions, but it sure keeps us busy. We will be celebrating Chanukah with my side this weekend, so I am still shopping for all the nieces and nephews. On his side we just do a grab gift, but on mine I have to buy for all of them.

Myra,
I am also a freelance worker, a database designer. My checks are sometimes very slow to arrive. I just billed for November, and I am not sure if they will pay me before the year ends.

Essie,
Is your name Esther? One of my very best friends is Esther, and we call her Essie.

Dianne,
Thanks so much for the birthday wishes.

Greetings to everybody: Terri, Ruth and Jen and Janie, and anyone I missed by accident. I hope it won't take me long to get to know everyone, I really appreciate the welcome.

Sandy

Hi everyone, well it's been a long day. It is late and I'm off to bed, I just wanted to let everyone know that I lost another 1.6 lbs last week. I have now lost a total of 7 lbs in 4 weeks.

Off to bed, I'll write more tomorrow.

Take care
Ruth

Ruth, you're doing very well. Are you doing the higher protein or all food groups, fruit, veggie, milk, etc?

JanieD.,
I am trying to get to my personal goal. I am only 5 foot 2 and I want to be about 125 and not the highest end of ww goal which is 135. I picked 135 so I could go back to meetings and not pay.

Rith,
Great loss. Keep up the great work.

Sundancy,
Happy Birthday to you!!!!!!!! I hope you had a wonderful one!!!!

Dianne,
I hope you are feeling better. Stomach pain is awful.
Jessalyn Jade sounds adorable.

Es,
Can't wait to see your cute face. How long will Pete be working these hours? I can't stand to miss my hubby.

Hi Jen and Myra.
Hope I didn't miss anyone.
