Question Late late night eating?

I think this may have been posted already so sorry for the repeat.

My question is: if I have a late night snack (after 12 a.m.) what day should I count it on? Should I just use my flex point?

I know it's silly, but there are so many rumors about late-night eating that it made me wonder.

Thanks!
Evan

I've counted post midnight snacks or bar munchies as part of the next days points but that is up to you.

I would count it the next day. I snack in the evening as well. WW doesn't promote the concept of not eating after a certain time, they feel that a point is a point no matter when it's eaten.

I do my points a bit different. My day runs 5 pm to 5 pm. So my week starts Tuesday night. I track my meals in this order... Dinner, Snack, Breakfast, lunch.

I am a evening snacker and I feel most satisfied when I have a larger dinner. So I use as many points as I need to feel satisfied in the evening and divide the remainder between breakfast and lunch the next day. I get a new set of points at 5 pm. I get a bit hungry and want to snack at 4 pm, but I just say to myself in an hour I can get my points and in two hours I will be eating a great dinner

Thanks for the replies!

Misty: That sounds like me. I may have to modify my point-tracking as well!

Consistancy would be key. However you choose to count the points, it would be a good idea to do it the same way each day. Like Misty, late night eating has never affected my losses, either, as long as I stay within my points range. Good luck to you!

I would count it according to when I slept. Let's say I am up on the 10th and don't go to bed until 3:00am on the 11th, I would count it toward the 10th. However, if I go to bed at 8:00pm on the 10th and then get up at 3:00am on the 11th, I would count it toward the 11th.

I also count a day as from I wake up to when I go to bed-- but it all has to do with personal preference.

Misty that's really interesting how you count your days! It must give you a little push at the beginning of the day knowing you already used some points... and that you'll have new ones later!

I'm not a big breakfast or lunch eater. I usually have 10-13 points left to split between breakfast and lunch. I am ok with that. I do get hungry around 3 or 4, I find microwave popcorn is great for this. I pop a bag and share it with the kids (my 2 and the 1 I watch), so by the time they are done I eat maybe a points worth. Many of my day time points goes towards decaf tea and coffee LOL. I'll be the first to admit that this probably isn't that healthy, nutrtion wise that is. But I should point out that my lunch usually consists of soup or a frozen meal "beefed" up with some zero point veggies. That is a 5 point meal, but VERY filling.
