Labor Day Challenge
Hi all,
Well I decided that the Memorial Day Challenge really helped!!! So I thought I would start a Labor Day Challenge for myself and anyone else that is interested. My goal for Labor Day is to lose 20 lbs. I figure we have about 14 weeks. I weigh in on Thursdays, but when ever you weigh in is fine. Good luck to anyone who wants to join in!! A Labor Day Challenge sounds GREAT to me Donna! I'm in a short term challenge that ends on June 19th (right before I go on vacation) but something a little more long term is just what I need to stay on track this summer.
Hmmm, my goal is to lose 15 lbs by Labor Day, about a pound a week. That will put me 5 lbs away from goal :) I weigh in Friday mornings, so I'll be back tomorrow to post my weight for the week! |

I have a short term going for the 4th of July and I changed my Memorial Day ticker to the Labor day ticker. I set my goal a little high. I hope it motivates me more. I weigh in this afternoon. I hope I lost a pound, but I'll check in tomorrow and let you know. Amanda: I am so impressed with your weight loss! 131 pounds! That is so awesome!! |
I am trying to keep my sights on my July 4th goal, but to be at 15 lbs down and 5 from my goal would be great as well.
I am going to start training for a 5K and hopefully a 10K and that should help. lala |

Wow lalala, a 5k with sights on a 10k!!! That is so awesome. I hope that when I get down that I can try jogging. I have osteoarthritis in my hips and knees and when I tried at my top weight before going on WW I just about crippled myself!! I couldn't walk good for about 2 weeks. Now I'm just doing the walking and I'm doing 4-4 1/2 miles a day.
Amanda: Congrats on maintaining. You have had such an amazing weight loss. When did you first start losing weight? For me, I'm doing a woo-hoo this morning!! I lost 2.2 lbs this week!!! I haven't had a 2 pound loss in about 4 weeks so I was happy. I'm really trying to up my exercise and do a mimimum of an hour a day of either walking or video exercise. I go on my cruise next week. We leave on 6/10/06. I'm so excited. I'm a little anxious too. I want to enjoy my cruise, but I don't want to sabatouge my weight loss. I know that I can walk on the cruise ship and I have to snorkeling outings planned for the 2 days we are in Mexico. After the cruise I'm going to Panama City, Florida with my sister and a friend for 3 days, so I know I can walk those days and play in the ocean. Anyway, send up some prayers for me to stay strong, enjoy myself and get that exercise and water in! Hope everyone is having a great morning!!! |

Hi everyone. I think I'm gonna change my WID to Monday's. Everyone seems to like Mondays! I'm only down 1 lb. and I know something is better than nothing, but I wanted it to be more. Will need work harder.:coach:

I've personally challenged myself to walk 6 miles everyday until Saturday, that's when I leave for my cruise. So far so good. Hope everyone is doing good and keep those spirits up!!!!!! |

Donna: Congrats on the loss last week. And six miles a day until your cruise... that's GREAT! To answer your question, I've been on the long road of weigh loss for about 8 years now. BUT, there were years were I just maintained my losses. I've spent approximately 2.5 years in actual "weight loss" mode. Mookie: Congrats on the loss... a pound is a pound! Every one counts :) |
Amanda: I know you are so proud of yourself. At least you have stuck with it for all those years. I know we have good and bad and frustrated days and weeks. I'm feeling more and more that this is a lifestyle change and that I need to do it for my health. Both of my parents died early, my mom 57 from cancer and my dad 62 from Congestive Heart Failure and diabetes. I have a 7 year old daughter and I'm going to be 49 on my birthday. I want to be around to see her get older and hopefully see a grandbaby in the long long future.

Hi everyone, Congrats on your great losses. I would love to join this group if you dont mind. I have 16 pounds to lose before I hit my goal, so I will aim to have it gone by Labour Day. I have been off program lately and really need a swift quick to get me back into it. I hope this helps.

Ok Ladies, I haven't posted on here in a LONG TIME so bare with me pardon the pun. Amanda, that is fantastic that you have been able to keep it off. I was on LA weightloss and lost 60 lbs then got divorced and met my current hubby and gained it all back and then some. So I am NOW getting sick and tired of being tired of carrying all this weight around and am going back to the gym tomorrow and work my *** off. I am also getting tired of looking at my fat face in the mirror. So please include me in the Labor Day challange.

Well, I've been working hard on walking! I've got a personal goal this week for 6 miles or more per day and so far so good. I walked 5 miles this morning before I came in for work. I can't believe how pumped I've been feeling and it is really motivating me to stay on target with the WW. I've also had some NSV and been able to fit in clothes that I haven't fit into for I know over a year or two. I have even been buying some 16W, which in 4/06, I was buying 20W's, which was one of the main motivatiors for me changing my lifestyle. Anyway, everyone keep up the hard work. I weigh-in on Thursday, so we'll see what happens!!! |

Okay, I'm going to chime in here, too. My morning weight on my home scale today was 161, which makes me happy but I'm going to be conservative and set a goal of 15 pounds. My losses have slowed a bit the past few weeks to about 1-1.5 a week so I think 15 pounds in 12 or so weeks is do-able. I'm still getting into a summer groove of being home all day, as opposed to being at school all day. You'd think teaching would keep me busy but being in Kindergarten, we constantly have snacks, treats, goodies and things. It's not good. There is much less junk here at home to eat. Plus, I don't start eating until until later in the day now so that (should) keep my points lower, too.
Currently, I'm a Monday weigh-inner. Although, I don't know how that will change once school starts. They may pick up our meeting again here in town on Wednesdays at 6:00 (which would be SO much better than the Wed 3:00 meeting they changed to!). So, since Labor Day is a Monday, I may weigh in on the Wednesday, instead. I guess that buys me 2 extra days to do well! Good luck all! Oh, I think I'll wait to change ticker until after the 4th. Too many will just confuse me! |

How's everyone doing?? I just got back from vacation yesterday. I can't say I stuck to my diet, though I was good on some days. I lost 4.4 pound when I weighed on 6/8. I weighed on my scale this morning and it looks like I either lost 1 pound or stayed the same, I don't offcially weigh in until Thursday at WW. Hopefully it's at least a 1 pound loss, but I'm back on track and have walked the last 4 days. OK everyone, post how you are doing!!! |
Sorry I did not post on Monday, but I was doing the Turbo Jam challenge and did noy want to weigh myself until the challenge was over. I am down another 3lbs.:carrot: WOO HOO! I am one step closer to making my goal.

I'd love to join the Labor Day Challenge too! :carrot: I currently weigh 186. I have done WW four times before. I started doing it on my own, yesterday. I don't even know where to set my goal, how many pounds? Any suggestions for me? My long goal is to get back to my wedding weight of 155.

Me too! I want to join. I have only tried one challenge. It was for memorial day, and I did not make it. I have committed myself to several straight losing weeks in a row. You see, I have been having a problem with losing one week and gaining the next. Only good thing has been the losses are normally a bit more than the gains. so, the scale has been going down but oh so slowly. I am going to Minnesota with my husband and kids in October to visit a dear friend. I would love to be very close to goal by then. I only have 29 pounds to go. Sounds good after losing 49 pounds already. So, let's see..........I think there are 8 weeks to labor day. My goal will be to lose 12 pounds. I think it is realistic to lose 1.5 pounds a week. I met my doctors goal for me - but I want the WW goal for myself. I want to get 10 lbs off my Labor Day - this is a stretch since I am at the ending of my weight loss journey - but I want it - REALLY WANT IT!! So I am in. I love being able to wear my children's clothes!!! What an incentive! |

Welcome Azgal32, buffalosister1 and osborn!! We have about 8 weeks to go! I kinda fell off the wagon this week. I have to go weigh in this afternoon. I hope I didn't gain more than one pound, but I got up and walk/jogged for 5 miles this morning and even beat my time. I did it in 1hr and 18minutes. I'm trying to do it in 15 minutes per mile or 1 hr and 15min for 5 miles. If I keep it up, I know I can do it. Great cardio-workout as it is kind of interval training as I walk and jog. Anyway, glad to have some more new comers on this thread. Good luck to everyone!!! |
Hi guys! Just wanted to check in. I have had a good day so far. Had a 3 point breakfast and then worked out at the gym for an hour. Got 6 activity points. I hope to not use them all. However, I am going to my girls' scrap booking night (every four weeks) and they provide dinner and dessert. Don't know how that will go. Will check in after the weekend. Have a good one!
