Good morning everyone!

It's cloudy here this morning and it's supposed to rain again. The weekend was pretty dreary but that's okay since I spent most of Saturday canning. DH and I canned stuffed hot peppers. He cleaned and stuffed, I put theminto the jars and did the rest. We started at 9 a.m. and didn't get the last jar sealed until about 3:15 p.m. Then I had to clean up! No matter how careful you are with cleaning them out those little seeds get everywhere!

Liz: How is your dad??? I hope the surgery went well.

Hi to Susan, Lala, Pam, Julie, Austingal! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hi Melissa and everyone.

happy monday...

Melissa, I just found a whole case of sauce and salsa from last year, so maybe we won't be doing any canning this year.

However, hot peppers sound great. What kind do you use?

So, bad week on the WW here.

I have gained back all that I lost and I'm mad at myself, but back on track. I love our new leader, she's really good and positive (she writes most of the stuff for our region).

I joined using the monthly pass so I can go anywhere and weigh in. I can also use etools, which is great with my lifestyle.

Anyhoo, my clothes fit fine, I just hate myself for doing this again, again, again and again.

Other that that, TS ernesto promises not to hit florida if Lisa sends him cookies.

Hi to everyone, BBL.

Lala: We use Hungarian hot peppers. You take off the tops and get the seeds out (I use a melon baller) and then stuff with chopped sauerkraut. Put them into a hot jar with 1/2 tsp salt, clove of garlic, and a tablespoon of olive oil; fill the jar with the brine (4 c vinegar, 4 c water, 2 c sugar) and seal. Let them sit at least a month. They are delicious! The peppers aren't real hot and the sauerkraut compliments the brine, etc. We were down to our last 3 jars. I've even made just pepper rings with the recipe.

The new monthly pass is a great deal! You can't beat the fact that you're getting a meeting and e-tools for one low price. We sold a bunch of the passes on Friday and Sunday. I like using the recipe builder to see how many points my favorite recipes are.

Hello everyone! I'm back from a great vacation. DH and I went to North Carolina and made a small side trip to Tennessee. We played lots of golf and hiked around. We also visited some friends who moved to North Carolina earlier this year. It was very pleasant there, had to wear a sweater at night.

Then we returned to reality--yes, work, and Ernesto. I keep hoping TS Ernesto just falls apart.

lala, the monthly pass sounds like a great idea.

Hi Ladies,

Today is my last day home after a nice extended weekend. Lauren went back to school today which is too early. Going back after Labor Day is soon enough. The weather is rainy and cool..fall is in the air! We didn't do too much this weekend...a little back to school shopping and whatever yardwork we could get in between rain storms.

Melissa you've had a busy weekend canning. The peppers sound delicious. Have your kids started shool yet? This is your older son's last year of college right?

Liz How are you doing? Hope everything went well for your Dad.

Lala the monthly pass is a great deal. Even though you gained back some weight it's good that your clothes are still fitting well. Maybe you've firmed up and gained some muscle.

Lisa I'm glad you had a nice vacation. My best friend was living in Mathews NC and recently moved to Memphis so a trip to TN is in my future also. Hoping Ernesto doesn't cause any problems.

Hi to everyone else. I've got to get ready for my annual check-up. Oh what fun. I'll talk to you all tomorrow.

Hello everyone!

Gosh, am I sore! Now that school has started I've been getting back to Curves and my goodness, I am more out of shape than I thought I was. Just goes to show how much ground you can lose in just two months. My abs and my lower back are really sore! I'm still going back again tomorrow, though!

My Dad talked to his doctor yesterday and the doctor told him that all of the test results came back looking good. He compared them to older tests that Dad had taken and there had been no change. They don't know what caused the heart problems Dad had last week, but the doctor said that just happens sometimes. I don't like that answer, but I guess we're not going to get a better one. Anyway, the doctor told Dad it was okay for him to go off on his motorhome trip Wednesday and asked him to make an appointment when he comes back, because it wouldn't hurt to check him again. So basically we were told a whole lot of nothing. GRRRRRRR!

I did something really "big" over the weekend. I finally cleared out all of my too-big clothes from my closet. Anything over a size 6 went to charity. I still need to organize what is left and make it look good. Hopefully I'll have that done by next week. Now that I have the tools I need to keep the weight off, there is no excuse for me to gain it all back. I can't afford to buy another wardrobe of larger clothes, so I'd better keep it off! LOL!

Lala - Getting a monthly pass is a good idea. Knowing you have it and can go to any meeting makes it a lot harder to come up with excuses not to go.

Lisa - Welcome back! Glad you had a god time.

Melissa - We finally have some sunshine here. Sorry about your rain. Hopefully it won't last too long.

Pam, children here have been in school for a couple weeks already (I think that's too early). You have your annual. I had my mammogram today; it went well compared to other times as far as discomfort. Of course, my pics need to be reviewed by a radiologist.

Liz, sorry your dad had problems. I hope he's feeling better. Hooray that you got rid of the fat clothes. That way you won't grow back into them. I remember after I first reached Lifetime and my leader really got after me because I was still wearing big sizes.

Is Susan still on vacation?

Lisa: Welcome back! The last I heard Ernesto was going to hit more the West Palm area and it wasn't supposed to be too bad, more rain than anything.

Pam: Yes, DS #1 has started classes already (23rd) and it is his senior year! His class schedule is bad in terms of having lots of space in between--he has classes on Tuesday/Thursdays and they're 8 a.m., Noon, and 6 p.m. The 6 p.m. class is only 1 day and it's 3 hours long! The peppers are really good and we tend to "ration" them out.

Liz: I understand your frustration with your dad's doctor. We had the same problem with my dad's and there's not much you can do. They still don't know why what happened, happened. The only thing they can come up with is that it's because he's getting older and his heart is just not functioning properly. It so frustrating! Anyway, good for you for getting rid of "Justin Case" We had a meeting on this--it's better to get rid of the bigger clothes that way you won't be tempted to gain a little because you have "Justin" around.

Well ladies, it's still dreary here--the sun peeked out for just a few minutes but most of the day has been pretty dismal. It's supposed to be nice tomorrow (sunny) and cool. Definitely fall-like temps (60's). I'm hoping the weekend stays on the cooler side because we have our Germanfest and it's brutal if it's too hot outside!

Hi everyone,

As usual, bring up the rear.

I need to start chilling because I'm starting to drive everyone around me crazy with my worrying.

Liz - yeah on the clothes. I should do the same with tshirts that don't fit and jeans that I hate.

Melissa - I hated those long gaps, but going to school two days a week? Sweet!

Pam - sob, the summer is over. DP is flying to boston and back on Saturday (don't ask). I told her to bring me back a paper, that is all she has time for. I hope her upgrade clears.

Lisa - welcome home. Sounds like you had a great vacation. Ernesto is happy to stay away from you unless you have spare zukes for him to eat.

Okay, must go on and figure out why my data is not loading into the new version of the software...

sigh.

more later, taters.

Hello everyone

I have been one busy person lately. The rainy damp weather here in Ohio has cancelled some Tennis matches then rescheduled for the next night. We have a tilgate party for the Music Boosters before our Football game Friday for the High School. Everyone is bringing desserts to my house Thursday - plus I have to make a dessert and bag up for selling. Friday is also the "Sound of Pride" it is out band and the opposing team's band play a song back and forth for who ever shows up in the gym to watch. This is the third year in a row we have done this with amazing results! I can't wait to see what the drum line has come up with this year. Looking at my schedule - I have Sunday as a free day that I might get caught up on some household items.
Some good news, even though my weigh continues to maintain - I was invited to a weeding over the weekend and had to go buy a new outfit to wear since none of my dress clothes fit (too big and I have gotten rid of them all) That was exciting!
I better get to work so I can leave early for the Tennis match tonight
Take care all..

Hi Julie!

First football games start here this Friday. I can't believe we're there already.

Our first college game is Saturday and I live close to the stadium. Sigh, the traffic.

Good on ya for having to buy a new outfit.

Do you have Monday off?

I'm at home today, working to finish a document without helpers coming into my office. Ernest is a handful today, but I think he's finally down for his one hour nap.

Then again, he just got up and went to his other bed. The sun must be better there or he's closer to his bisquits.

It rained here last night. It was most excellent and very fall like, of course by Friday it'll be back into the 80s...

Grr.

Hi everyone! Any exciting Labor day plans?

Well, Ernesto caused my company to shut down yesterday. Ernesto wasn't much of anything which was fine with me. I have to work tomorrow to make up for the lost day (usually that is our Friday off). Lots of employees are upset because they had planned to go away for the four-day weekend. Now they'll have to take a vacation day (if they have any left). I hope Ernesto doesn't cause the East Coasters any problems. It is supposed to strengthen today and hit South Carolina.

Labor Day plans? Well, my brother and family are supposed to be in the area, so we'll see them, but I also wanted to see my parents in St. Petersburg. We will probably do both somehow. I need to visit my parents before my play rehearsal schedule kicks into full gear.

Julie, how fun to buy a new dress. You play tennis? I never could figure that sport out. The band competition sounds like fun.

Melissa, your son is a senior in college? I can't believe it. That Germanfest sounds like fun each year when you mention it.

lala, I hope you get your project done. I'm on another proposal (sigh).

Our Labor Day plans include a Corn Roast on Sunday - they provide the corn - I will bring my FF butter spray I am also planning on making a dessert - got a good sounding one at WW meeting this week
Peach Pie with Ginger Bottom

2 lb peaches, pitted, pared and sliced
1/3 c sugar
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 Tbsp cornstarch
2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
4 oz gingersnap (about 18), crushed

Preheat over to 400 degrees. Combine peaches, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon and cornstarch in medium bowl; set aside. In a small bowl, combine melted butter and gingersnap crumbs mix thoroughly. Pat crumbs evenly into a 9 inch glass pie plate (bottom only). Carefully arrange peach slices over crumbs, include any remaining liquid. Bake at bottom 1/3 of oven for 20 minutes; reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake for 40 minutes more. Cool completely on wire rack.
8 slices 3 points each

I dont play tennis - only my daughter - she won her match last night in "and overtime game" and in today's newspaper (we only get it twice a week in my town) there is a Tennis article with her name in it - gotta cut it out to add to her scrapbook!

Lisa that's too bad you'll have to work tomorrow to make up for yesterday. What bad timing, I'm sure people must be upset who planned to get away this holiday weekend. At least Ernesto didn't cause any damage, you must have taken Lala's advice and sent him lots of cookies . Sounds like you'll be busy this weekend. How far is St Petersburg from you?

Melissa That's quite a schedule your son has this semester. He's almost done though, amazing how quickly time goes by. I hope you have nice weather this weekend for the Germanfest. I think we're going to be getting a lot of rain. It's actually pretty nice here today but very cool. I'm going to go out for a walk in a few minutes.

Liz good idea to get rid of the bigger sizes...it's too tempting to have them around.

lala no exciting Labor Day plans for me, just a cookout with the family. How is your Ernesto doing?

Julie that receipe sounds good...I might give it a try this weekend!

Hello to anyone I may have missed. Time for me to get some lunch..talk to you later!

Pam, cool weather, huh? What's that? Is it early for you to be having that weather? Do you expect to get some rain from Ernesto. He is really giving the Carolinas problems. St. Petersburg is about 150 miles from my house. It's not too bad, but there is usually a lot of traffic on the way through construction zones. I've lived here over 20 years and I-4 has been under construction the whole time.

Julie, that 's great that your daughter does so well at tennis. Yes, the recipe looks great.
