Talking Hi, I am a WW newbie

Hi I am a newbie to WW. I joined when I was a kid, about 12 years old and hated it. Now I am 23 and love the whole points idea. I haven't officially joined through WW, I just bought some of the material from ebay because I am poor and can't afford to officially join. I have the Quik Trak Diary, Dining out Companion and the Complete Food Companion. I have an old Getting Started booklet as well. Does anyone have any reccomendations of other things I might need to help me out? I know I am going to have questions but I can't remember them right now. Thanks!

A lot of centers are having free registration now, so I would recommend you join for a week or so. It would give you the most current stuff and an opportunity to ask questions. Plus, you'd get the points slider, which is VITAL!

But good luck!! I do WW online, and love it!!!

Yes a slider or calculator is VITAL. Many things are in the food companion, but to be most accurate it's best to calculate the points. Book One has a good list of the basics, but those are all covered in the Food Companion, so you really don't need that for the foods lists as much as the information on tools and 8 healthy Guidlines.

You can get a calc on ebay, join for just a week and get the slider, ask a friend who is a member to get you one at the meeting (around $2-$4). But a slider is a must. Also an activity slider is a HUGE bonus and I think you cna only get those at the meetings...and only in week 4. Unless the new calc have that feature. You may also consider doing WW online it's mcuh cheape rthan meetings...I think around $30 a month. But that will not give you the portable slider, just an online calculator.

If you get a chance join. I find the meeting invaluable, but I know how it goes and did it on my own for a while b/c of money. Best of luck!!!!!!!! Great to have you here!!!!!
