happy today

  • hello my husband helped me find this , I am doing ok was a bit down yesterday I went up 1 pound, I think that I only had my points, any way down 2 pounds today so maybe I am doing it ok,
can you eat any kind of veggies ? and do you have to count them as 1 point?
maybe I should post here a little about my self.
I did do a few posts but I am not sure where they are, I am not that good with computer and I am real bad at spelling, but here goes any ways, first I would like to say a big thank you to Susan, and Tara, for the post to me, it really helped me to keep coming back here trying. to get it right.

ok I have been doing low carb for 7 years and was at 198 then, I love low carb and it really help me when it seemed that nothing was working for me, some day back before that I would just eat rice cakes with a little butter, like 8 in a day that was all that I would eat. did not lose any weight doing so, then I found the low carb way of life and is work for me I lost over 40 pounds in one year and have keeped at it this long, but now I would like to try WW,I like that I can eat different foods, you get fed up with the same old stuff, any way I have tried other diets but always go back to low carb, because I put weight on, well that a bit about my self, hope that I have not gone on to long, I am here to get help and if in any way I can give help, i am 58 yeasr old wife mother grand mother, with 3 grand kid . that i love with all of my self, hope to get to be a part of this site , you all seem to be real people here and very kind thank you Jackie O, ps please forgive my spelling ,
  • Your spelling is fine. The thing I like about WW is due to the fact that you can eat anything as long as you account for the Points. Severely restrictive diets do get tiring over the long run and is probably the main reason they fail.
  • I also love the site here it keeps me motivated through the week and going to the meetings. I love weight watchers for the same reason that you can eat anything you want as long as you count the points for it~ I have been on weight watchers since 01 i lost 45 pounds but gained it back I quit over the summer and rejoined in October, this past year. I have been going now for 16 weeks and I lost 25 pounds and reached my first 10% goal. If there is any way that I can help I would be glad to. I find myself spending lot of time on this site~ And yes there are a lot of nice people and very supportive too.
  • thank you so much , I am doing ok yesterday I had gone down 2 pounds,I am so scared that I will gain my weight back, so far for really now going on 8 years I have stay with in 5 pounds of my goal, that was with low carb, I do like to eat other foods, and I think that for me any way that I have to keep giving other thing a try, I think that when I get to one weight that I have been in my life time for a time that it just stays for along time, if you know what I am saying. any one had that happen?
I will stay on WW for next week ,and if I don't go up to much I will keep at it. but when that scared feeling comes that I may gain to much back, up till now I have always gone back to low carb, may be with your help I can stay with WW and give it a chance , thanks for your post, do you have a place where you post what one eats for the day?
I am just doing this at home, I have thought about going to WW and all that, but I have to see if I can do it for time ,and then I will save up for it, we are on a pension , and have to watch just like everyone , to day i got the 2 pounds back, maybe i had to much to eat, thanks jackie o
  • I know what I am about to say is sacrilege to many people, but I personally don't believe low carb is a healthy way of eating. There's the ketosis thing, and the cholesterol thing to deal with. Plus restricting an entire food group doesn't sound right. I have been on WW before, and I really believe it is the most sound weight loss plan. Just remember that you did not gain the weight in a day, and you won't lose it in a day either. Slow and steady wins the race...and if you gain, it's not the fact that you ate too many carbs. It's how many calories over all you put in and how many you expend. Good luck and hope you stick with it.
  • thanks for your input, we all have a right to our way of thinking, for me low carb was really good in more ways then one, some people like my self , have a big appetite, and it is very hard to not eat when you are so hungry, for me with low carb I could eat when I felt like, this is what I have a hard time with other diets , I am always hungry and thinking what I can eat, my health on low carb has been very well and I did do it with my Dr, he was happy that I could live with it for so long. he was always telling me that most canot, do that.he was very happy with my not having any white flour and sugar.
that I still be live is not good for most of us, any way thanks for your good wishes jackie o
