A new weekly Thread as promised!
This is a group trying to lose 100+ pounds. So pull up your computer chair and come visit for a while!:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: |
Good Sunday Morning Everyone!
It is beautiful 65 degrees on the coast today. I know it is only January but I can feel Spring in the air! My day lillies are sprouting and people are walking on the beach. Summer can not be far away! (OK, call me Pollyanna right now! LOL) Sunday is probably a one of the hardest days for me also. Husband is home, the TV is on to sports and I usually eat out of boredom! But with the refrigerator still broken (someone is coming to look at it on Wednesday) there is no reason to stand at the refrigerator door and see what is inside! LOL Hubby cooked breakfast for me this morning, and am planning a light supper since we have a birthday party for my grandson this eveing to go to! I am not sure I can resist both cake and ice cream, so I am saving plenty of points for one or the other! How about a topic for the week? How about listing five things that you would like to do once you have lost weight? Things you have dreamt about or even day to day living that you perceive as being better once you have lost the weight? Anyone want to join in? I will think about mine and post later! Have a great day everyone and I will check in later to make sure you all make it over to the new thread! GeeChee |
1. cross my legs!
2. wear a bikini ( we are dreaming arent we?) 3. get whistled at on the street. 4. not feel like the fattest girl in the room 5. sit comfortably in any chair and not worry that it will break or that I'll get stuck.(you know the ones' those molded white plastic outdoor chairs yuck! |
me too
sas, you took my 5 , I totally know. I ALSO WANT TO BE ABLE TO SIT IN A BOOTH AT A RESTAURANT!!!! I always have to ask for a table, and I don't go into fast food places.:o :dizzy:
raynette aka boxerdawg |
Hmmm...looking at the posts and noticed I said I had a birthday party for my grandson....I meant godson. Although I have children old enough to give me grandchildren...I am not there yet! LOL
Ok my five things: 1.) Sit comfortably in an airline seat, including the one in the middle! 2.) Wear normal size clothes, not the big fat ladies ones! 3.) Go into a gymn and not feel like everyone is looking at me. 4.) Feel healthy and know I am doing everything for my health so I can be around to enjoy my family (really the number one reason for why I am doing this!) 5.) Feel confident in myself and good about the way I feel. Yeah, I hate those plastic year chairs too! So that is my list. I haven't worn a bikini since I was 21, so I am not even dreaming of wearing one ever again! LOL Weigh in is tomorrow, so I will report how things went. Have a great Sunday everyone! GeeChee |
Well, if saskbabe took Raynette's 5, I have to say that GeeChee took my 5!! Actually, it's a combination of both. In the end, I think most of us have the same goals.
1. Travel by air without feeling like I have to scrunch up to compensate for being overweight! Have ya'll ever noticed that skinny people have a tendency to take up more room than you would think they would? I know it's because they're comfortable with their bodies and they think nothing of taking over both arm rests or putting their feet up in the chair. And then if there is an empty seat in the middle they're sure to throw their briefcase, laptop, etc into the empty seat before you even have a chance to unhook your hands from the back of your arms!! 2. Go swimming. Forget the bikini, I just want to feel comfortable in a bathing suit. 3. Run in a marathon. 4. Buy clothes in a normal size department. 5. Cross my legs. |
Good evening everyone,
Hmmm 5 things I want to do when I lose the weight: 1. Never buy clothes with an "X" or a "W" in the size 2. look good in lingere 3. be comfortable in a bathing suit (one piece will do) 4. feel comfortable in a gym and not wonder if everyone is thinking "what is she doing here" 5. be able to slide into the car without having to raise the steering wheel up so my thighs will fit. On that note, I think I will sign off and go to the gym for a while. Talk to you all later. |
My 5 things
1. walk without getting tried 2.ride a bike around Mackinaw Island 3.normal clothes 4.play on the floor with my granddaughters 5. health |
You know there are more fat people in the world than thin. I think we should ban together and get those stupid plastic lawn chairs banned! lol
You are right about thin people taking up more space. it must have something to do with all that air in their personal space cluttering up their spacial sense!! |
I agree, the lawn chairs should be banned forever. I am off the Franklin, NC today to visit my mother-in-law. Have a good day everyone.

A New Week
Hi everyone,
I want to be able to put on my socks without having to grab ahold of the bottom of my pant leg and hiking it up over my other knee first. :) I want to go out and shop for cute clothes instead of just settling on ones that fit. I want my husband to be just a little bit worried when I leave the house. I want my best friend's mouth to fall open the next time she sees me (she lives far away and we haven't seen each other for a couple of years). I want to finally do this all the way, not stop half-way through. I will do it this time. DNR |
Quote:
1. I'd like to go to the mall and be able to find something to wear in ANY store there! (Well, I wear a size 12 shoe, so maybe not the shoe stores - and I'm 5'10", so maybe not petite stores - but any other store there!) No going to Lane Bryant or any store with the word's Plus or Too in the name! 2. I want to run. Not just go fast - RUN! 3. I also want to not be self-conscious in a swimsuit. 4. I want my husband to pick me up and carry me to bed! I've always thought that would be the most romantic thing - but it would have taken Andre the Giant to do it! (Even if I hit my goal, DH better start hitting the gym! :wl: ) 5. I want to go to my old high school and have everyone there be speechless! The fact is, I've kept in contact with only one person from high school and never really cared to return, but to have the jaws drop when "the fat girl" walked in  would so be worth it! |

An NSV for ME!
I came home from work early today and I was STARVING! I mean really, really hungry! And, I knew I only had enough points left to eat dinner. I didn't want to use my flex points, I'm always using my flex points lately and I do better if I don't. I was hungry and grumpy and finally decided to make some 0 point soup. So I chopped and sauted and diced and simmered and while I did a strange thing happened. I became calmer. I stopped obsessing over how many points I had left. And by the time it was ready, I wasn't nearly as hungry as I was when I started.
So I've had my soup and now my dinner and I'm pleasantly full. Best of all, I didn't pig out or go make cookies! I'm quite proud of me tonight! :D |
Hey Y'all!
Back from WI and down 4.2# Wahoo! for me!!! Lillion....way to go. Instead of grabbing anything you could to eat, you dealt with your hunger in way that helped you stay on track! You rock! DNR...loved your list! Off to shower. I work very early tomorrow, so I am showering, snuggling in bed and reading, and then calling it a night. GeeChee |
Hi everyone,,,I'm new,,I have been looking for a home that I feel comfortable at,,,I hope that it is here,,,I have been going to Dotti's and it is great but I never get any reponses when I post,,,I can't explain I guess I feel like a out sider,,,I want to belong,,,boy I sound like a cry baby,,,lol,,maybe so,,,:o
1=I would love to hike in to my favorite fishing spot in the spring and not have to have my hubby wait several times for me to catch up or catch my breath,,, 2=Would love to weigh less than my husband for once,, 3=Would love to put on a swim suit ,,even one with a skirt,,lol,,and just go swimming like everyone else. 4=To pick my t-shirts out in the womens section,,not the big and bigger mens. 5=To live long enough to see all of my boys have children and dance at there wedding !!!!!( I should have put this one first,,,it is the very most important one for me ) My name is Jeanne and I am looking forward to getting to know some of you,,,thanks for being here !!! |
5 things I want to do . . .
Great idea for discussion!! I'm feeling a bit more motivated just thinking about what I'll be able to do ...
1. I want to be able to take a plane trip without worrying about whether or not I'll have to ask for a seat belt extender! 2. I want to be able to buy clothes at Chico's. 3. I want to have enough energy to spend my evenings doing something(!) rather than dropping into an easy chair. 4. I want to be able to ride horses again (one of my true joys when I was thin). 5. I want to be able to get up from a chair without finding finding something to hold onto to help pull or push me up! I weigh in again tomorrow evening. I'm worried although I have stayed within my point range all week. I get so disappointed if I don't show a loss. :comp: http://www.3fatchicks.com/weight-tra...165/265.5/.png "If I keep on doin' what I'm doin', I'm going to keep on gettin' what I got" |
way to go with the soup! I went Belly DAncing!!!!!!!!!all 285 lbs of me. and I did pretty good. anyone else do this?
|
Quote:
saskbabe: I've never done it, but I know several "Women of Size" that bellydance. I do medieval recreation as a hobby and Middle-eastern dance is a pretty big thing - I applaude you! :cp: I'd be sooo self-conscious! GeeChee: WTG on the loss! :bravo: |
I try not to be self conscious.I look at it this way.I am fat it is very apparent to all who see me. I am not fatter in a a.) bathing suit b.) sleeveless shirt or c.) belly dancing. Therefore I do them. It is bad enough being fat--don't use it as an excuse of be miserable too!
|
Hey y'all....(Can you tell I am southern gal? LOL),
Welcome Jeannie Hope you have a found a home here. Yes, I would like to weigh less than my husband too. I once did, but no more! Your list is great. Saskbabe......You are awesome. Belly dancing? WoooHoo for you.!! What a great form of exercise. |
1. I want to live long enough to watch my son grow up and be able to actually DO stuff with him without being too tired.
2. Airplane seats and restaurant booth/chairs.....ditto. 3. Have my boyfriend pick me up.....that's hot! 4. Shop in any store i darn well please. Dress with style... 5. Stop being afraid that an innocent little kid is gonna look amazed and say something about me. |
Hello all, I am just now reading posts from yesterday. I have been in Pigeon Forge, TN all day and I am really tired.
Jeanne, I am fairly new here too. Welcome, everyone has been very nice and supportive here. Saskbabe, congrats on the belly dancing. I have never tried it. My hubby and I do sometimes go cajun dancing, contra dancing or English Country dancing. We are going to an English dance tomorrow night. GeeChee, congrats on the loss. I have to weigh on Thursday and I did not do well this week since I have been on vacation. I just hope I didn't gain much. Have a good evening all. Paula |
Good Evening Everyone.
Just wanted you'll to make sure that you have read the server move that is going to happen to 3fatchicks.com It is on the main forum thread so make sure you take a look. When they get up and connected, I will try to start a new thread and hopefully everyone will make it back here. Paula.....Pegeon Forge huh....home of Dollywood right? We pass through there on our way to Indiana to visit my husband's family. Always looks like a nice place to visit! Hope you have had fun there. Enjoy your vacation and do the best that you can while you are gone. There is next week to get back on track! I know that you can do it.:carrot: Rein2be....I enjoyed your list and share many of those same dreams. I am nursing a bum toe. Dropped an armboard from the OR table at work right on my nailbed. I said a few choice words when that happened. :tape: Anyway, my nail is black and blue and it hurts like a son of a gun! Glad I am off for a few days. Well off to ice my toe and drink one more glass of water. I am trying to get my six glasses in but find it difficult to do on the days that I work. Sleep well everyone! GeeChee |
Well i had WI tonight and I lost 8.6lbs!!! I am so excited because it made up for the 4lbs i gained last week. So far I am down 19.8lbs since i started WW on 1/2/06.
|
reign2be
Good work. And keep it up. |
Reign2be....19.8# in a month! That is just awesome! Let me do a happy dance for you!
:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: I am off work today and that presents it own challenges. Hubby is working only a portion of today so I know we will go out to lunch and tonight is our Fajita Wednesday when we meet friends for dinner and drinks. So I need to save all the points I can for today. I have learned that if I eat breakfast late on days off, it makes lunch that less tempting. So I have had my three point breakfast and will limit my lunch to about 10 points, which leave me plenty for dinner with friends. If I can leave my hands out of the chip baskets I am set! Off to do laundry and pick up the house! Have a great day everyone! |
Greetings Losers! :D
I'm dancin' today! I've met my Feb 18th goal! :carrot: Technically the scale here at the office says 248.8, but since it weighs a pound heavier than the one I started with...I'll take it! ;) GeeChee: Have fun on Fajita Wednesday! My DH go to this really good Mexican place here sometimes. We order one plate of the chicken/shrimp/steak or the seafood fajitas with double tortillas (6 for the two of us) and eat 3 each - and usually have stuff to take home! We do eat ONE basket of chips and refuse to let them bring more. We know we are going WAY over points when it happens, but we've never shown a gain because of it and don't do it very often. (Used to be about once a week...now more like once a month. $$$) The amazing thing is we used to get an order apiece and not have any more leftovers than we do with both of us eating one plate! And at LEAST 2 baskets of chips! :ink: I don't know how we ate that much! reign2be: :bravo: That's an impressive start! nurseinnc: I wish I could dance! My DH is NOT a dancer! We didn't even have dancing at our wedding reception! :( I think I may have gotten one slow dance - in the kitchen - with him since we MET! I used to LOVE to dance when I was in my 20's...it would be so fun to take some lessons! Well, off to brag about hitting my goal other places! :p Onward and Downward Ladies! |
HI you all and thank you for the big welcome !!! wow sure made me feel good,,,:carrot:
Congrats to all the pounds it looks like are gone this week !!! each pound brings us closer to goal,,,I am happy for one,,,;) The weather here in is snowy and really windy,,,I love winter but this year will be glad to see spring come around,,,have had lots of snow this year..I live way up in the hills so driving can be a real hassel sometimes,,, Well this is going to be a short one,,,work day for me ,,,my lower back is out so am dreading it,,,usually don't have back problems but have been suffering with this for way over a week,,,three more days to go,,,:dizzy: I loved reading all the 5 things each of us would love to do,,,and we can !!! Later,,,thanks you guys for being here you all seems so friendly,,,have a great day,,,,Jeanne  |

DNR |
I've been MIA for a week or so but things are slowing down so I'm back!
Alrighty, first things first. My list of five things: 1. Not be the fattest/heaviest girl in the room, in my group of friends or in my family. 2. Not have to worry about clothes being long enough to cover my big belly. 3. Be able to comfortably play on the floor and jump around with my kids. 4. Run a marathon (this was also on someone else's list I noticed so I'm glad I'm not the only fat girl that wishes for this!). 5. Actually ENJOYING my body and the way it moves, how it feels, and what it looks like. This includes not feeling tired every second of the day, not feeling like if I get on the floor I'll never get up AND, hey, let's face it, it would be fun if I wouldn't lug around my girth and be able to be carried into the bedroom by my husband AND have a crazy wild night without a big belly getting in the way!! On to other things. I am doing all right but not down a single shred of anything. Still working at it though. Keep up the great work ladies!!!! |
lost!!!!!
:carrot: I lost 2 more pounds, weighed in last night, had a good meeting we exchanged our favorite day of food, got some really good ideas. I had not been eating eggs since starting to diet, but am going to have them now only 2 points each, not to bad. Everyone is doing great!!!
:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: Love those lists, I for one will never weigh less than my husband, he's a bean pole lol. I agree with the shopping anywhere, I would like to have the sales lady say what can I help you find, not we don't carry clothes in your size!!!! Keep up the good work everyone and welcome to all our new posters!!! raynette aka boxerdawg:hug: :bravo: :grouphug: |
Evening Y'all,
Raynette...Congratulations onf the 2# loss. Sounds like you had a great meeting. We shared ideas at our meeting too and the one that was the most unusual was that someone had for breakfast a very large salad! She put at least three to four servings of vegtables in her salad so in the morning she had met at least that many servings of vegetables! Now I give that woman credit. But the idea of eating a salad for breakfast is something I don't think that I could do! :dizzy: Sugarkube...welcome back! I laughed at your list! My friend who lost 100# swears that "having a wild night with her husband:hug: " has never been better since she lost weight! Maybe that alone should be motivation for losing! DNR....Congratulations of that 1.4! Almost to your 25# mark....you rock!!:dancer: Jeannie...snow...you have snow? What part of the country are you from? It has been a wonderful winter for us. Right now at 10:06 p.m. it is 66 degrees out side! I am not complaining at all! Lilion.....well back from fajita wednesday. I managed to do ok...my husband and I split a chicken fajita and looking up points on dotti's sight, it looks like I did better than I expected on points. So that is good for me! My husband and I split alot of orders when we go out..portions are really big anymore and it seems wasteful to throw all that food away. Congratulations on meeting your goal early! As for me...got our refrigerator working again. My husband made the comment today, that having it broken sure cut down his trips to the kitchen to look for something to eat in the refrigerator. That probably is a good thing! But it is sure nice to have it again. After a week for it being broken, I guess I will have to go to the store to fill it back up! Have a good night everyone! GeeChee |
Greetings!
Well, I ended my day at 32 pts yesterday, but when you consider I ended lunch at 28, that isn't too surprizing! Luckily, at dinner I was still full from lunch, so I had 0 point soup and a sandwich and a muffin. Made these great "harvest muffins", 1 pt each! (Well, 1.5 since I never get as many as the recipe thinks I will!) On the "wild night with hubby" topic...I have to admit, losing weight is a BIG+++ there! I told DH the other night how much better everything "fits" :o now...not to mention what it does for stamina! :o :o GeeChee: Isn't it amazing how big restaurant portions look now? I can't remember the last time I cleaned my plate at a restaurant! DH and I usually split what we get...or we end up with go boxes, that's for sure! My favorite place we've split a meal so far was Olive Garden. I just really wanted the Tuscan Chicken last time we went...months ago!...and we told them to just bring two plates. They actually split the meal in the kitchen for us. Since the entree came with two pieces of chicken, we each got one, a small serving of pasta and lots of veggies. How nice is that? Well, off again for now! Have a happy, healthy OP day everyone! :D |
Newbie Here!
Hello all,
I am new to 3fatchicks.com. I have goo gobs of weight to lose, but I have set my initial goal at 35 pounds. I started Weight Watchers last week and have my first weigh in today. When I reach my final goal, here are the five things I look forward to doing: 1. Walking, dancing, jogging, running without having to take a "gotta catch my breath" break. :dancer: 2. Not buying Super Sized or Women's Extended clothing. 3. Wearing all the sexy, high-heeled shoes my little heart desires. I wear some now, but they don't make many in size 12. 4. Sitting in a booth at a restuarant without worrying about whether I will fit in it or who is watching me squeeze myself in it. 5. Not hearing the insensitive, idiot-brained comments like "You are too pretty to be so fat," "Have you ever thought about losing weight, cause you're really cute," or "I don't think I could move around if I were as big as you." And yes, I have actually had people to say these exact things to me and many other stupid comments. See what you all have started . . . There is one more that made my blood boil! "Oh my, you are so fat." My response was something like, "Wow, thanks for letting me know; I had no idea." :rollpin: |
Good evening all, I haven't been able to post much this week but my vacation has come to and end :( so i should be back on track with WW, the gym and posts. I did go to my weigh in today and actually lost a 1/2 pound. I was shocked! I really thought I would have gained. Oh well, back to work tomorrow night and back to seriously following the core plan. I am going to the gym in a little while so that will help too. :ebike: I hope you all have a good evening.
Welcome melodious1, this is a great place to visit. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. |
Hi girls! remember last week when i gained a pound. Well I lost it this week along with 3.2 more--yes 4.2lbs!!!!!I am pumped!! That brings my lost to 7 lbs so my goal of 10 gone before the end of february is looking good. Everyone is so great to read, welcome to the newbie. i am so tired today,i did a two night cpr course and of corse am a homedaycare provider during the day plus my three and tonight I have my girlfriends three boys! and my brother's two dogs. i think I deserve to be tired. Didn't have a great food day, but I usually buy chips on WI night, but didn't so I think i am okay for today. Back at 'er tomorrow.
have a great night and welcome to the weekend! |
Hey everyone!
Saskbabe! A big WOO HOO to you! Great Loss...you deserve a slightly obscene carrot! :carrot: I went out to dinner last night and threw WW right out the window! And I enjoyed every bite! I was tired and grumpy and hungry and so DH and I went to our favorite Mexican place and split an order of fajitas (and a couple of baskets of chips.) I'm back on track today though and have accounted for every point going in my mouth...even the single chocolate-dipped strawberry I had. They are having a snack-day for a co-worker who is leaving and I am not participating...although I am sitting here smelling the rotel dip! Must run. No time to chit-chat at the moment. But hope you all have a happy, healthy OP day! |
Good Friday Afternoon y'all,
Well, I sat down and wrote a nice long reply to everyone, hit the wrong button and the whole thing disappeared!:tape: So I am going to try again. Just back from the grocery store. After a week without a refrigerator, it has been more than two weeks since I have gone. I took my pointfinder and use it as I bought stuff for the week. Hopefully this will keep me on track for the coming week! Lilion.....ok, splitting a fajita is not too bad.... but those darn chips get me into trouble every time! But you are back on track today so that is just awesome....so depite everything, I say WhooHoo for you :cb: :cb: :cb: :cb: Saskbabe..you make me :dizzy: with all those kids! YOu have must have the patience of a saint  to take care of all those young'ems! WhooHoo to you to for that awesome loss! I am doing the happy dance for you too! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: Meledious1 :welcome: Glad to have you on board. Post often and lets get to know you! Nurseinnc....a loss while you were on vacation and with family too. That is great! :D :D :D :D :D :D The combination usually does me in for a gain, not a loss! Well, better scoot. My one daughter left in January to go back to college and I have still not washed her sheets or straightened up her room. And today is the day! Have a great Friday. GeeChee...beautiful place, beautiful faces..............................;) |
I thought I would copy and paste this as a reminder to everyone that the site is changing forums. This was the announcement made on the adminstrator's thread:
Many of you have noticed a variety of technical problems since the beginning of January. This is due to increased traffic, sometimes as high as 2,000,000 hits per day! We love the new traffic, but our current dedicated server has had problems keeping up with us. We're moving to a more powerful server which should carry us through without any more errors. How will this affect you? During our move, you may have problems reaching 3FC, and may even think we're gone. But don't worry, we'll be back up within a couple of days, or even hours! We'll close the forum and journals on the old server, so if you get a closed message, this means you are accessing the old server. Your internet provider must update their DNS records before going to www.3fatchicks.com will take you to the new server. Some internet providers will update their DNS within a few hours, so you'll barely miss us. Other internet providers are considerably slower and may take several days. Most of you will be back within one day. If anyone is curious about this process, this page provides a great explanation of domains and how you reach them. When will we do this? We've ordered the new server and have several things we must do before we can make the move. We hope we will be able to move this weekend, preferably beginning after midnight Friday night. So go check out a good diet book from the library, or buy a new exercise DVD to stay busy during the move, and we'll all come back with new energy, speed, and motivation to start the new month right Ok, if I don't get back to this site, I will see you all on the new one! Have a great weekend! GeeChee |
