Default I feel like I am eating too much

Hey everyone!

I am a new member of WW. I joined last Thursday (12/1/05). I am allowed 28 points a day. I don't know why, I feel like I am eating ALL day long to get all my points in and but feel like a pig. Maybe I am just worried about doing everything right so I am coming down on myself. Does everyone feel like they are eating all day??

Here is an example of what I ate today. Let me know if I am doing okay.

Breakfast:
3/4 cup south beach diet whole grain creal
1 c of soy milk (lactose intolerant)
1 banana

Late Morning:
Fat Free Yogurt

Lunch:
Chicken breast w/gravy and mushrooms
1/2 C of broccoli, cauliflower and carrots in low fat cheese sauce
a salad w/fat free italian dressing
1 sugar free/fat free pudding

Late Afternoon:
One of those WW caramel peanut butter bars

Later in the Afternoon (LOL)
1 mini bag of the 98% fat free butter popcorn.

so far I have used 16 points....12 points to go.

Does it sound like I am doing okay? I am open to comments/suggestions.

Thank you!

Sounds good to me! You are filling your day with healthy choices. The things you are choosing are low points, so it takes more of them to use up your points. But these are the things you should eat, they give you the most bang for your "points" buck so to speak. When I was up near 26-28 points I too had a hard time fitting it all in when I chose healthy stuff. If you choose junk though you will quickly find thsoe points disappear all too quick! Welcome to WW i hope you enjoy it!

I second what Misty said! I think that we become too efficient with dieting over the years, choosing everything non-fat, low-fat or low cal, etc. Let's face it, some of these things taste terrible! Then when you start WW you automatically reach for those foods and see how little points they actually are. I would have trouble getting 28 points in as well in the beginning. Some changes I made to meet the points allowance would be to exchange the FF dressings for a low-fat one instead, or maybe having a slice of cheese in my turkey w/mostly-veggie-hold the mayo, mustard-only, sandwich . These add a few extra points without bulking out the meal. The thing I enjoyed at the end of the day when I had the points left over, was a 1/2 cup of REAL full fat Hagen Daaz ice cream. If I'm gonna "feel" like cheating, I'm gonna do it right-- but I'm still gonna be within my points. Of course, when we reach lower point ranges, you will want to reverse everything I just said

The plan works great

You may be getting more quantity because healthy foods you can eat more for less calories.

You are getting way less in calories than you were before.

For example say a regular hamburger is 6 points, fries are 6 points and a coke was 3 points (12 oz)... however you can have a Boca Burger on Light bun for 2 points, oven baked fries for 3 points, and diet coke for 0 points. Same quantity but less points.

I go for the low-fat instead of the fat free on some things because they taste better (in some instances, the points are exactly the same too.) The important thing to remember is not to deprive yourself. You MUST eat all your points every day, or your body will think its starving and will start to revolt. Don't worry... your points will eventually go down when your weight goes down, but for now... eat and enjoy your food. It's an opportunity to learn to eat healthy yet occasionally have yummy stuff too! All in moderation!

Some more fruit would be an idea, to help with more fibre in your days intake. Other than that, it sure looked like a tasty day!!!

When I first started WW I felt the same way as you, but I always kept thinking that it wasnt going to work because I always felt full and I could eat the so called no foods other diets tell you that you cant have, then I would step on the scale and see the difference. So enjoy feeling full instead of starving and counting the minutes until your next meal! That's why we all love WW.
