I have been on maintenance since January and am finding it harder than when I was loosing. Any one else having this problem? Have you got any hints or advice? I can use all the help I can get!!
I'd love to hear what challenges you've been encountering since January, as I am a newbie at this maintenance thing. I'm still having to stay in my losing points range in order to try to maintain, but then again it took me about 6 months to lose the last 5 #...So I don't have any tips yet - in fact, I'm looking for them!
There is hope after reaching GOAL. I've been on Maintenance for 4 years 160 orig / 135 goal / 132 ideal / now 139.6 and needing to lose ideally 7 pounds.
We've got a great WW leader - Susan C. (LA, Calif.) who is incredibly motivating, and does not take the fun out of the meeting. It keeps me coming back, and that keeps me focused to try and stay on program. She also realizes - especially for the gals and guys at goal - that you need to set a new goal. What would motivate you to stick to the program. What reward can you give yourself for the month of July???
She's also into having people storyboard their next goal. What's the goal and then what steps will get you there? She also gave us a challenge: Keep the "My Journal Diary" for 12 weeks straight and get a new one for free. I love free stuff and a challenge, so I'm there! I'M GOING TO CREATE A DIARY "THREAD" SO KEEP ME POSTED.
My big goal is to fit into a pair of tight black jeans by mid August. so that I can "show off" for my husband to my in-laws. Perhaps vain, but it works for me. So my first goal was to get back under 140. My next goal is to get to 135 by end of July.
I have been at goal for only about 2 months, but I have started to focus on weight training, my results from there are pretty awesome! Food wise it is hard at times, I am lucky I can maintain and lose on a lot of point (but I exercise a lot). I am calling this time "finding my maintanace groove". I am eating more protien and adding in some things like peanut butter and such, but I am still VERY careful about my fat intake (I try and keep it under 25g a day). Protien helps me feel full and I feel maintanence is truly the time we discover what foods and what way of eating we can really maintain for life. Good Luck, I am still trying to find my groove, so take care!
