Well, I hate halloween already lol. I bought 3 bags of candy 2 weeks ago when I had my blood tests done. I figured might as well get them while I was at the store where they were cheaper! Not such a hot idea! Depression over came me for awhile (still dealing with it) and I ate (with help from my family of course!) the bag of reeses already! :( My husband wanted to open another bag so he could have one candy. I said NO!!! Then we will finish that bad too!! LEAVE IT SEALED SHUT!!! Lol. Next time I will wait till the day of halloween to get the candy.. and I will get everything we hate lol.

I know this is very off topic, but what exactly does DH and DS stand for. I gathered from the context that it is husband and son, but I am still curious. Thanks, in advance :).
Well, on topic, I am also not planning on buying candy until Halloween afternoon. The problem I have is that I love candy and I am not sure I can stand to have it in my hands for all night, and also to have any leftovers. It is like having an alcoholic bartend for a night and then give him or her drinks to take home. I may just boycott Halloween this year, as it promotes children to eat candy, and just turn my lights off. I will have to think about it more and get back to you guys on what I decide.
Good luck everyone and be strong. It is going to be hard to get through the holidays, but we can do it :).

Yes, it is husband and son. :)

As for the left over candy... I donate it to local business's. When you go into business's you always see a bown of candy and stuff. I go and donate it to them. :) The business's really appreciate that. And you don't have it around anymore. :)

Tracy, excellent idea! I will take your advice, but I am still worried about eating some candy while passing it out to the children. I think I am going to save all of my flex points for the week for Halloween, so if I want a few pieces I will be okay.

I just looked at your website, and I have a suggestion for you. Try the Wendie Plan, because it has worked very well for so many people. It is all about changing the number of points you take in daily to keep your body guessing how many calories you are going to take in. When someone just sticks to the same amount of calories a day, then one's body adjusts to that number (just as it adjusted to the higher number of calories you were eating previously). It's worth a try....it is at the top of the list on the WW General Board. Good luck :).

The Wendie Plan suggests the following for your weight:
Day 1 - 24 points
Day 2 - 29 points
Day 3 - 25 points
Day 4 - 39 points Super High Day (SHD)
Day 5 - 24 points
Day 6 - 28 points
Day 7 - 26 points

I hope this helps you.

P.S. How cute....we "re-started" on the same day :).

UFSENIORGIRL,

Hi there. I understand!! I am thinking the same thing here! Chocolate in my hands will not be a good thing lol. I am thinking about letting my hubby do it all lol. Maybe I will take a nap lol.

I have actually looked into the Wendy plan in the past. I may check into that again one day. It does sound interesting. :)

Welcome back to WW too! :)

Since you are having trouble losing weight, I really think the Wendie Plan would work out well for you. Worst case scenario, you try it for a week and it doesn't work (which I don't see happening), then you can just go back to what you are doing now.
You could always do it without your husband knowing, and then compare the percentage of his weight he loses in a week with the percentage of weight you lose and then decide from there. He will then wonder how you lost so much, which would feel so good :). Good luck!

Lol.... my husband don't mind whatever I do lol. As long as I am healthy and happy haha. However, before I did the wendy plan I would have to speak with my doctor. I have just been diagnosed with prediabetes and I am told I need to eat 6 meals a day. I need to level out my blood sugars. The wendys plan is kind of what I normally do... one day hardly eat, another day eat more lol. But... I have to see what the doc says. She said WW is perfect and she said to make sure I eat all of the points and get all meals and snacks in. So we shall see. :)

UFSeniorGirl 10-15-2005 01:55 PM

The "Wendie Plan" IS Weight Watchers :). As you know, in WW you are given a points target everyday (in your case, 24) plus 35 flex points to use per week. As you can see, your points in the Wendie Plan NEVER go below your points target for the day, and add on extra points above your target (the flex points). It is just a different way of using your flex points that optimizes the weight you can lose. Hope that helps :).
One more thing, I was in no way implying that your husband cares what you do or that you should lie to him. I was giving you an idea of an experiment to do. If he uses he flex points one way, and you use yours the "Wendie way", it would be interesting to see who loses a higher percentage of their body weight. To keep it a controlled experiment I was saying that you shouldn't tell your husband. This is because he would then know what you were doing and this would likely change the way in which he normally does things (subconsciously). It was just a way to prove to you that it works, since you sound very skeptical. Good luck!

I understand what you meant about my husband lol. I was just stating that I can do what I want without fuss haha. ;)

As for WW Wendie Plan. I do realize it is WW. I learned about it awhile ago. But being prediabetic and having to eat 6 times a day.... the Wendie Plan would be hard. I need to keep my sugar levels stable. And that is top priority right now. That way I can get healthy and lose weight.

But... I will never forget about the Wendie plan!! :) Thanks for your support. :) I do appreciate it.

One thing I noticed at Dollar General store was they had a bag of mini playdoh cups. THat would be a GREAT non-food item to give to the kids. Alos they had those little cheapy toys.

Just a thought for those that might be tempted.

My problem will be what candy my dd gets that she can't eat for choking risks. Like candy with peanuts in it or whatnot those will be my weakness because she can't have them. I just hope I can limit to a piece or two a day as a treat and definitely journal it and prep for it by staying low points. I also plan to only take her in this area we live so it reduces the amount of candy and also time since she is only 2 all the walking would be a pain for her. I will have her stroller with in case she gets tired on walk back home.

UFSeniorGirl 10-15-2005 02:18 PM

Oh, okay:). I thought you thought it was another plan, because you said that you would have to ask your doctor, even though your doctor said WW was a good plan. I know that you have to have six small meals a day (which is a great way to increase your metabolism) but on the higher point day you could just choose higher point small meals. For example, you may choose a salad with chicken and fat free cheese and fat free dressing for a small meal on one day and on the higher point day choose one of your meals as steak and potatoes. They are the same size meals, but they obviously greatly differ in points.
No problem, I am just trying to help you out because I feel your frustration. After reading your website I saw that you did WW before and it didn't work out for you. I just want this time on WW to be successful for you :). Let me know what your doctor says. Talk to you soon. Bye.

I ususally get my DH (dear husband for the new people) to take the leftover candy to his work.

I was also thinking that perhaps if you feel guilty about throwing food out you could take anything that was unopened and donate it to the food bank next time you drop off some canned goods etc. at thos bins they have in the groceries stores. :)
