The Infamous Plateau

  • Hi! I just started WW. I haven't hit the plateau yet, but I've heard that it's inevitable. Anyway, I was wondering if anyway has any stories or suggestions about it. I just want to be prepared.... thanks
  • Yes, it will happen. I get one at all my tens, ie 160, 150, 140. My longest one so far has been for 3 months. I went from 152-150. It was horrable. I wanted to quit but I am still here. I finally got over it by going off plan for a few days and than I got to 140 in about 3 weeks. Now I am hovering around it. I have yet to break throught but I know it wil not be long. What helps me is measuring myself and keeping track of that. I did not lose on the scale but the inches kept going down. It helped me not give up. I measure myself once a month. I hope you never have to experience it.

  • I've had plateaus
    not this time but when I was in ww in the 80's.
    The best thing you can do is expect it to happen. Then think of it like your body is catching up with the weight loss. I really think mental preparation is key.
    It will happen the week you have done everything to a T. You will have excercised and eaten perfectly. You will have drank all the water you could.

    The best thing is don't give up. Talk about it with the other members. People there at the meeting might have some tips!
