I have been doing so well on WW the 2 weeks I have been on the plan. I can tell my period is about to start any second and yesterday, well, I lost control ! BIG time !!!
Today is a new day and I am not going to beat myself up over it. I want to learn from my mistake and move on.
I just surrender to it. Yep. I cave in. Well, kinda. I always have healthy choices around the house. If I want something salty, I can have some light chips or popcorn, maybe wheat thins. Something chocolaty - SF pudding, Hershey's kisses, WW cakes, light ice cream. So, occassionally, I eat enough for a small village, but it's not as bad as it could have been! And, I keep track of the points. I might have to eat OP for two or three days, but it's worth it to me to satisfy my craving.
So, this may not be the best approach, but it's mine! Good luck!
Like Emerald stated you find low point options to deal with them. I know that I crave chocolate during my cycle (I don't have TOM but I do of a cycle) so I make sure I get something that is high in magnesium.
I had the same thing happen on Sat. But I too just wrote everything down. I even had the thought come across..well maybe if I take one day off a week, it won't hurt me too bad..NO NO and NO. I snapped out of it and made myself write it all down and took away from my flex points...felt much better Sunday and am right back on track. The key is to plan as the others said above. I am obviously just getting started..the ones above are AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME...I just wanted you to know that I too had the same issue Sat. Keep up the great job!!!
The best thing you can do is eat a healthy, well balanced diet, including the 8 guidelines for healthy living. Since I've started "really" doing it (not sort of or fudging it), and eating less processed junk and more whole foods, I've noticed a huge difference in my cravings, hormone peaks and valleys and so on.
I read that getting sufficient calcium intake can lower PMS symptoms by 50%. Eating whole grains, protein, fiber, fruits and veggies along with enough milk servings can really make a difference in lessening the cravings in the first place.
Well - I had my weekly weighin tonight. I gained 1 pound. I'm okay with that. This is the start of a new week. Tomorrow is a new day (and I stopped by the gym after the meeting and did 50 minutes on the treadmill).
Princess- 1 pound is not that big of a deal. You can take that right off next week! It's true, as people have been saying, this is just a week! When your new week begins, you make a promise to yourself to eat well and write everything down! I've only been doing this for 2 weeks (weigh in is later on today), but I have been enjoying being mindful whenever I eat. I had never done that before WW! By thinking about my meal and how it will effect me later, there is a realization that I am solely accountable for my actions. Even if the scale doesn't show it, I have eaten healthier and learned how to stop eating when I am satisfied.
