New to the site and WW

  • Hello all. I just started Weight Watchers for the first time 3 days ago, and I just wanted to say what's up. I was pleased to find this website because I don't really have anyone to talk to about weight loss. My sister weighs a hefty (laugh) 105, and although she's constantly on a diet, I for some reason find it hard to relate. My girl friends all seem to be that chick who can eat anything she wants and remain at 120, and guys...they just roll their eyes. Anyways, so far WW has been going okay -- My major concern is, even if i DO lose weight, can I really count points forever? Anyone have tips for life after Weight Watchers?

Nice to meet you and thanks for listening ,

  • Hi Mistaken and welcome to the boards

If you scroll down the forums there is a whole section on WW where you can meet other WWers, get some info and recipes.

    Good luck with the program!
  • Welcome Mistaken! Good luck!
  • Hi! Moving this over the the WW forum!
  • I full intend to count points at least occasionally or most of the week for the rest of my life. I have been doing W/W since 1998 and pretty much is is just habit now.
  • welcome

good point bout the 'points' thats the benefit of core..... it sorta teaches maintance while youre losing.
  • You'll find that as you go along, counting points is no longer a chore. They'll automatically calculate in your head every time you glance at food. As you drive past a fast food place and consider pulling in for lunch, you'll automatically know you'll be spending 13 points for that fried chicken sandwich (and hopefully you'll keep right on driving LOL).
So, to answer your question, yes.....I'll be counting points for life. Because I want to keep this weight off for life. And I know if I dont count points (aka eat well and in moderation), I'll gain it back.
  • Hello Chicks,

I'm new in WW-world and this forum, too. Like Mistaken I have no one to talk about loosing weight (by the way correct my enlgish, if it's too bad, I'm here to learn it bettern end get some practice). So I started WW for a while and stopped it because of too little motivation.

Now I'm trying it again and I hope it will be better with all of this nice Chicks here.

    Greetings from good old Germany

  • Hey ladies!! I'm very new to WW and Chicks, too!

    I think we'll do great together :c)

As far as the points go, from what these ladies have said, it must become a habit...which sounds wonderful to me!
