wednesday chatter for ww newbies!
hi everyone!
havent checked the 2nd thread yet but i saw 4 pages so i thought a new one for today was a good idea. i find short threads easy to read:) how are we all doin? im off 2 a good start.. ive had 2 eggs and 6 egg whites so far and i lifted weights already&tomm is my support meeting:) |
Once we have a name, can we be moved to the WW Groups section as a new sub-forum? Then we can have those various threads we talked about, including a daily general chat one. Just a thought.
|
wtg cat and misty!
hippo: im glad u dont feel giulty! as long as it was worth it! haha gotta go pee:D |
this IS the ww forum. its the general one....
|
Tonights my weigh in.......and I can't help but worry slightly. Anyone else get a lil nervous? I've been pretty good all week, but when you work iiin a bakery/coffee shop sometimes those cookies get the better of you...specially when you really just NEED chocolate.
So let's here it, what is everyone's favourite low point snacks?? here's a few of my own: Frozen grapes - green work best and eat them slow unless you want your mouth to be numb...... Flavoured tuna in those mini cans....mmm cept my kitten always trys to help me eat it. Mini yogurts, also frozen (it's really hot here, what can i say?) Fruits, anything because it's all in seasoin and sooo good right now. Anyways, have a good one y'all |
Happy Wednesday everyone!
I don't have long, but I wanted to reply to Quite - I saw your plan on the other thread. I know you are still trying to make up for your bad day the other day, but it could actually hurt you to go under your daily points requirement. Just a thought. :) I just want to help. Andrea- she's talking about moving our group to the WW Group forum, so that we don't clutter up the General area with our talk. :D I'll be on later- I usually can't check at work, but I just was popping in on my lunchbreak. Points wise, I'm right on target. :D Take care, chickies! |
F&L: Yes, I KNOW you're right and I was re-thinking as I was writing it. I'm going to stick to my 30 a day. Thanks for the nudge!
And, yes, I was talking about the groups forum at the bottom of the WW section, mainly to avoid the clutter, like F&L said. |
((((hugs Quite))))
It's amazing how many of us had bad weeks this week- you would think last week would have been the hardest, temptation-wise. Keep going, girl. :) I love your signature- I will usually surrender my daily will a lot more quickly to a cookie than to God for some reason. :o Isn't that sad and embarrassing? I'm going to use that quote in my quote book, if that ok. :) It's that book of quotes I use to stay motivated in life, and that's a GREAT one! |
Warning Embarrassing question & TMI
OK, I hope this doesn't offend but.... I gotta ask: Does sex count as exercise? Like if once or twice a week you engage in 30-45 minutes of bed-thrashing, bouncing off the walls, heart rate way up sex :smoking: ... can you earn extra points? At the risk of TMI, this morning my heart rate was up and we were sweating for a solid 15 minutes. Far as I can tell, even if I count that as moderate intensity, at my body weight that's an extra point. At high intensity, it's 2! Oh God, I'm so embarrassed! :o
|
Maggie... LOL! It sounds to me like it should count as a 2 for you. ;)
I've been very stressed this week...and I was starving this morning. I made two eggs (4), 1 slice low fat whole wheat toast (1) w/ FF butter spray, a slice of cheese (1) .... AND a can of Mountain Dew (3). :halfempty: I'd been doing good on cutting out most of the soda, but this morning I just grabbed one without thinking. :o I keep telling myself that's a waste of points, especially for breakfast... but, it's a habit I've had for 15+ years and it's hard to stop. No water yet today... I'll start with lunch. Have a good day, everyone! |
hi guys!!!:)
keep pluggin!!!! gl w youre wi tonight lucky! I PRETTY MUCH KNOW BC I OWN THE SAME SCALE...oopss orry 4 the caps lol. there seems to be some confusion: if you look, youll see that these threads are located in the WW forum under ww general i think some of you are confusing it w the general diet plans section:) |
amy dont beat yourself up! habits take time to break...just keep at it:)
some of my fav snacks are: red apples, red n green grapes, watermelon and strawberries. this is pretty much all i snack on unless its a saturday or sunday night when i eat my reese's friend-z(similar to quite's blast) |
hope this doesnt insult anyone, but i thought this may help clear up the confusion:
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2 if u click this link you will see it brings you to the WW boards....one general, one for recipes, 1 for core etc. you will see we are in the general section:) |
Quote:
Ah.... growing pains. We'll get it straightened out! |
Quite: It must be said--you crack me up! And at the same time, I'm extremely jealous that you have a form of exercise I don't! ;) By the way, I'd count it as 2. Sweating for 15 minutes would definitely be a high intensity (though super fun) workout. *grin*
Lol, and I hope all this confusion can be resolved soon. No worries ladies! This time tomorrow, we'll have a name, guaranteed! (Our vote count right now is Slimmin' Sistas: 5; Summer '05 Chickies: 1; and Summer Slimmin Sistas: 1.) Remember to vote before midnight tonight! The winner will be revealed in the morning! :) ~Amanda |
i see now. wherever you guys wanna go is fine.....it doesnt matter to me. i dont see what harm we are here but if you guys wanna go to the ww group part just present a united front to prevent more confusion.....
|
Count me in with the Slimmin Sistas. I am a re-joiner, as of this week. I had all the materials already, but no real success with the 123 winning points. (Weekly meetings were a disaster...) So I really don't know the difference between that and core or flex. But I'm glad to find a good support group. Now my question is: what about the wendie plan. Has it been good for you? I seem to eat more points on the weekend anyway, so I might as well plan foar them. Also, I am not far from the next level down. Should I wait until I am really there, or make the jump when I'm still a point away. Thanks!
|
I vote for the move to the Groups & Clubs section in the WW Forum, since then we can have varios threads within our main heading. How about if we let Amanda know our preference by midnight tonight and she can let us know the winning option when she tells us the winning name. Is that OK, Amanda?
So the question is this: Should we stay where we are in the WW General forum or become a self-contained "group" under the Groups & Club heading within the WW main area? Boy, once we get this all figured out, we'll have lots more time and energy for general chatting! LOL |
Maggie! You go girl! I definitely think it should count for at least one point- Oh, how I wish I was getting my exercise that way! :o lol Well, back to pounding the pavement for me I guess!
About the forum business- I don't think anyone is going to get mad at us if we keep posting our threads in the ww general board, but 3fc created those club forums for just this sort of thing, and I think out of courtesy for the whole community we should probably keep our group threads there. It doesn't mean, of course, that we can't read and post on the general board also, or anywhere else for that matter, but as far as our general support chatter that should probably be out of everyone else's way. Does that make sense? If you're worried about having to navigate from one thread to the next, something you can do is subscribe to the forums and threads you like (for instance, I'm subscribed to the ww general forum- where we are now- and also to this particular thread) then when you sign in, open your User CP (control panel) and your forums and threads will be listed for easy access, all in one spot. Alternately, you could use the forum jump option at the bottom of every page. To subscribe to a thread or forum, go to that thread or forum and select Thread Tools or Forum Tools and select Subscribe. Do we need to vote on this? I certainly don't want to seem as though I'm pushing to move if others don't want to, especially after jumping the gun yesterday! :) I don't really care that much- I just like our group and everyone in it and want to make sure we are all sticking together- and sticking to plan! We'll get it figured out! In the meantime- I hope everyone is having a good day! |
I would love to join you and I vote Slimmin Sistas but hope I find you again. Reason to leave out summer because it will take me way past summer to do this! But I am determined to see it through this time.
I love for a snack WW chocolate bar they are only 1 point and taste like real ice cream I have one for a big treat nightly after dinner. |
Kudos to KFC
Of course, everthing KFC serves is obscenely high in points, but the Web site does have this great tool: http://www.yum.com/nutrition/menu.asp. It lists the KFC menu, and you click on items you want and it puts them on your "tray." When your "meal" is complete, you click calculate and it breaks down the whole order according to calories, fat, protein... everything. Once that's done, it's simple to calculate points. (Although when I tried to calculate my splurge on Saturday, the points finder didn't go that high!) More restaurants should offer these kinds of tools on their sites, as well as easy to figure nutrition info on their menus. I wish more would team up with WW to offer points values on their menus too, like Applebee's does.
|
Maggie you crack me up!!! I would certainly count it!! But just a tid bit of info for ya, not sure if I agree with it or not....I have fit day software and sexual activity is listed in the exercise area. It figures for "sexual activity at an intensity level of active, vigorous effort" (their words not mine) you burn 102.3 calories per hour, it is a little less than a very slow walk (which they estimate to be 136 calories per hour). But it's your call...you know how intense it was
The kids I watch have left :woo: I feel bad that I am happy like that, but Lord I needed a break today!!! I worked with my clay to avoid eating this afternoon. My uncle opened a small store and ofered to sell my little clay creations for me. People have been telling me for years I could sell them, well now we'll see. I skipped breakfast and ate a homemade sub for lunch about 10 points. I am super hungry right now. I guess I don't really have a vote as far as where we are. Can we just create a sub forum in teh groups and clubs or does a moderator have to do that? Something we might have to consider. Oh well I am just enjoying all the conversations and interaction! Susie-I haven't tried the Wendie Plan, but what I do is try to save all or at least the majority of my flex points (or banked points when I did winning points) for the weekend. that gives me leeway b/c weekends are hectic here. Well off to make some more little critters. Enjoy your day!! ~misty |
Taking a break from the insanity that is Utopia to see what you ladies are up to! ;)
Welcome to all the new gals! :) Don't worry...if we end up moving, we'll be sure to let you know! Quite: Yeah, I don't mind tabulating the votes for both the name and whether or not we should move. Personally I like a bit of organization, so if moving to the Clubs area would file us away and make us a little more organized, I'm for it! :) Well, I better get back to the book. *sigh* Just ten more pages, just ten more pages, just ten more pages. Why is it that such a short little book (84 pages) has proved more difficult than a 400+ page book (Paradise Lost)? Have a great day everyone! ~Amanda |

Finally, a day I'm proud of!
First off, can I just say Panera Bread's Strawberry Poppyseed Salad is the bomb!! I LOVE IT!!! And, according to my "sources," it's only 4 points!! If you haven't tried it, I certainly recommend it!!! Yummy, yummy, yummy!!!
Here's what my day looks like: Breakfast: 1 cup Kellogg's Smartstart plus Soy Protein cereal (3 pts) .5 cup skim milk (1 pt) Morning Snack: 1 cup watermelon (1 pt) Lunch: The amazing salad from Panera (4 pts.) Can I join you guys ... PLEASE????
Not new to WW (just started 14th week) but am new to 3FC and really haven't hooked up with a group as yet. So when I saw your first WW Newbies post had to check it out ... and thought "oh well, I'm older than those guys" so didn't post. Well, I've been reading your posts and have decided you are definitely the group for me ... any group that figures APs for sexual activity is the group for me! So NOW I know why I'm out "poundin' the pavement" at 6 a.m. And the Izzy-girls swimming adventures made my day. So if you have room for me I'd like to be included ... Bev
|
Hi, Bev!! I'm sure there's room for more!!
I see that you live in SW Wisconsin. I use to live in La Crosse!! I miss it there! My parents live about 35 miles west of Prairie du Chien. I hope you're not a Packer fan, or we can't let you join our group!! Just kidding!! |
Welcome Bev!
Great job being on week 14! I tend to fall off around week six, which is next week-SO, I am glad that I have this group to "cheer" me on thru the 6th week and on and on and on and on..... You guys ALL rock! Have a good night! Izzy |
Hey Bev! As far as I know age isn't a factor here! :) Our goal is to just help encourage everyone to get healthy and stay happy. Aw. ;) Welcome to our humble, but happy, group! :)
Oh and Izzy: you'll make it through this sixth week! We'll make sure of it! ;) Good luck everyone! ~Amanda |
yeah, I think once we have a name, we should move to the groups, and have a sub group made. I think it will make it less confusing, because then all of our threads will be in once place, and easier to find.
LOL I'm glad someone else asked about sex earning AP points :) LOL I've been wondering the same thing, but have been too embarrassed to ask! I did pretty good today. I exercised to my DVD this morning for 20 mins, and it was soo much easier today than yesterday. I also walked about 1.5 mile today on my lunch... and the impressive thing about that is that it was it was sooo hot, at least 90 and a really high humidity... so I was sweating! I haven't finished eating for today yet, but I'll post my menu later. I was bad though, and had a brownie :( A patient brought them to us today, but it was a small one, and I only had one. ~Liz |

Thanks!! I've been craving chocolate this week (TOM is next week) so having only one brownie was a HUGE thing for me. I just hope they are gone tomorrow!
It was also soo hard this morning at our staff meeting. At every meeting someone brings in a snack. Today the person brought bagels and cream cheese. I wanted one soooo bad... thats one of my big weaknesses... breads etc..... but I resisted and did not have one. My co worker and I,who is doing WW with me, were going to split one, but never did... so we saved ourselves some points. You wouldn't think that working in a dental office, you'd have so many opportunities to cheat... but people are always bringing us in sweets or something. It sucks! Anyway, here is my menu for today. Wednesday July 13, 2005 Breakfast 1 tortilla – 3 pts 1 piece of lunch meat – 1 pt ¼ cup cheese – 3 pts Total – 7 pts Lunch 1.5 serving pretzels – 3 pts 1 sandwich – 3 pts ½ serving carrots – 0 pts 1-cup yogurt – 2 pts Total – 8 pts Snack 1 small brownie – 4 pts Dinner 2 cups spaghetti – 6 pts 1-cup sauce – 4 pts Total – 10 pts Total Points = 29 |
welcome to all the new ladies that joined us today!:)
im beat. had a busy day. worked out 3 hrs! whew!! hope everyone stayed op:) |
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...802#post899802
heres the new link to the ww group section:) |
Lol, I was gonna post my daily points count, but I'm hopping over to the new thread! ;) Don't worry ladies! Tomorrow we'll have a name and we'll know where to go!
Remember, if you haven't voted yet, please do in the next four and a half hours! :) ~Amanda |
Good evening, my favorite group of ladies! and welcome, Bev!
Okay, I have given this some serious thought and I've decided that if I can earn AP points for having sex, and my husband has been trying to sabotage me and I'm only on week one (whether he realizes that he's doing it or not), the very least he can do is give it up more often. Don't you agree? As such, I believe that I will inform him this evening when he gets home that he is to drop his pants at my every whim as it is the very least he can do to make up for his attempts at sabotaging my weight loss efforts. SLIMMIN SISTAS! STAND UP AND BE UNITED! :soap: <stepping down from the podium> |
Thanks Andrea...So I am going to go post in the WW Groups one!
|
Okay, I'm struggling tonight. I am doing everything I can to not raid the milano cookies in my kitchen. I figured I would come here instead... think I'll go check out the recipes or something....
|
hello everyone :) I'm on week two...down 2.8 lbs (but have lost 12 more without ww before I joined then stalled)...only a zillion or so to go...hahaha!
