  • I think people who see us every day are the one who least notice because the daily change is so small. I've lost 50 pounds and because I lost it very slowly - hardly anyone ever said anything and it made me feel bad that I was working so hard and no one noticed. Finally, someone I had not seen for a long time made a complimentary comment and this was also at around the 30 pound mark. Best wishes to you as you continue toward your goals.
  • Thanks again, everyone. I've actually just passed the 25 lbs mark.........I think I'll probably be around 26 or 27 when I weigh in tonight.

I think tonight when I get home, I'll post my little "before and after collage" so you can all see. It's not much, but there's a small difference when you look at the pic.

I'm hoping by the end of summer, people will have lots to say : )

    See you all tonight!

    Cheers,
    Taunia
  • Yup, I noticed that 30 lbs gone was when people began mentioning my weight loss also.

Here's something else to think about ... Who are you losing weight for? Yourself or everyone else?

You need to remember that losing weight is a very personal thing. If you know and feel you are losing weight that is all that matters. Don't look to others to validate your weight loss. Do not expect compliments. They will probably come, but you should not expect them.

Remember, while compliments make you feel great now, they will stop. You will have to maintain your weight and eating habits without the compliments to keep you motivated. You need to develop the mindset that you are doing this for yourself and only yourself. That way when the compliments stop, you will not lose motivation. And the compliments will stop once everyone gets used to the new you.

In many ways, losing weight is much easier than keeping it off.

  • Hang in there! Did you take pictures when you started out? If you didn't, you should take some now. You'll be glad later if you do that. Some people have probably noticed that you have lost weight, but don't know if they should say anything. When you continue to lose and it becomes even more apparent, the compliments will start to trickle in.

    Take care,
    Brian
  • OK here's what you really do ... lol ... you say nothing ... you do nothing except stay cool and on course with your weight loss ... then when everyone least expects it you shed those old clothes and wear something sexy...then wait till you see everyone's jaw drop and they are speechless...revenge is the greatest reward on a weight loss program...YOU GO GIRL....KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!
