I've had major surgery twice and lost weight (initially) both times. I ate less because I didn't have as much of an appetite, plus I craved healthier foods that made me feel better and gave me energy. I think that as long as you eat healthy foods and stick to your points, you'll be ok. You probably don't want to cut back much (if at all) since your body needs the nutrition now. If you do gain a couple of pounds, at least you'll know it was due to lack of activity, and it will come back off after you recover.

Congratulations on your 52lb loss! Good luck with your recovery

Hi Kally
After having 3 surgerys in the past 1year and a 1/2 I gained 37lbs. When I look back I see that I could have prevented most of it. I was hardly eating and when I did it was junk. Grabbing a choclate bar was easy and loving chocolate as much as I do made me feel good. Now I think if only I had eaten properly, eaten at breakfast, lunch, dinner.....choose fresh fruit and vegs instead of junk. Drank my water instead of pop, and even though I had a hard time walking atleast still try and keep other parts of my body moving by maybe lifting small weights well sitting on the couch. I still need more surgery but this time know to prepare ahead, have vegs and fruit in my house and even have some already cut and make them easy to get at. Drink my water and whenever I can...get out and walk.
I hope this helped you some and I have faith that you can get through this, losing 52lbs is AWESOME!! Keep positive thoughts.

I also had surgery and lost and kept that off. Remember weight loss is calories in vs calories out. So if you follow your points you'll be fine.
