  • Hi all,

Back at work, trying to do it (work that is). Glad life is sort of back to normal. Need to do what we're all struggling with, controlling my eating and trying to figure out what is not motivating me.

Melissa - sounds like you had fun! I would say, direct seed that basil now, cover with floating row cover (reemay or interface lining for sewing) and see what comes up. I think we managed to rein in the tomatoes this year. The pumpkins and squash are doing great!

Lisa -- I would say, coverups, bathing suits, a skirt and light top and definitely a sweater or pashmina.

I have no idea what will work with your coworker other than hoping her click will come before there is a medical reason for her to lose weight.

Did my class presentation last night. Went quite smoothly. I can't imagine why these youngsters are not trained on how to give an effective presentation with 15 slides for 15 minutes without lines and lines of text. Geez. We all had 15 minutes, I gave my final report in 15, everyone else either read right off their slides and still didn't convey anything or took 40 minutes to show off their 45 slides and all they did was read off their slides.

Hopefully they will learn as their careers develop.

Was exhausted when I got home last night as class ran over nearly an hour!

Tonight, work on paper, hang out with dog and pick up DP from train station.

Hope everyone else is having a decent dayo.

  • Susan, good luck with your weight loss journey. You know that you can do it. Good for Melissa and lala joining up with you. Because I'm going on vacation, I'll delay till I get back. : )

Sorry to hear about your boss leaving. Uh-oh, I think they will probably ask you to stay during the summer. Maybe you could work out a part-time schedule.

I'm glad your weather has perked up. We have been deluged with rain, so any sunshine would be very welcome (and most folks think all we have here is sunshine).

Oh, you made me laugh when you discussed your in-laws and the emphasis on the next meal. I remember when my grandmother would come to visit. That's all she wanted to know was when was lunch, dinner, etc. Also, it had to be at a specific time. I remember a coworker discussing a visit from his in-laws. MIL had to have her ice cream at 7:00 at night and heaven forbid if they weren't home at that time or didn't have any ice cream!

    Hello, Melissa, lala, and Pam
  • It's a dreary morning here--yesterday we hit 83 and today it's 65, lol. That's okay at least I'm inside.

So I've got one day completely filled out in my brand new 12 week journal (which will take me to Labor Day). I even got a 5-mile walk in last night with my friend.

Good news...my DS #1 got a good report from the doctor this morning The bone is not shifting and they were able to put him in a short arm cast i.e. he can move his elbow again. He was elated to say the least! Tonight DS #2 graduates from 8th grade so my evening will be busy. No major plans for the weekend.

Susan: I actually look forward to weight training--I had forgotten that I enjoyed it.

Lisa: Your vacation will be here before you know it! You'll have a great time.

    Pam: Hi!

Lala: DH is planning on planting tomorrow morning and Sunday I'll probably thin out my lavendar that is slowly taking over my rock garden.

    Have a great weekend!
  • Hi everyone,

    Drive by again.

Hoping that everyone has a nice relaxing weekend and stays within their points, drinks lots of water, exercises and thinks good thoughts.

Okay, at least on of those things is okay too!
