Default Thin for line -- Week of April 25,2005

Happy Monday.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine seemed short and that is always a bummer. Oh well, there are only 5 work days until the next one, right?

Just starting this because I see no one has peeped from the East Coast.

I'll be back after I go to my riveting seminar on databases.

Good afternoon! Thanks for getting the thread up and running Lala!

It was a pretty blustery weekend here--we lucked out and didn't get the snow that the forecasters were calling for thank goodness! We did get rain and the temps dropped down into the 30's. Today it's cool & rainy but tomorrow sounds promising.

Didn't do much of anything over the weekend--went to Smokey Bones for lunch and did laundry. No outdoor work this weekend!

Hi to Susan, Pam, Lisa!

Hi Ladies,

Could and blustery here today..temps are in the mid 40's. Kind of a quiet weekend. Went to a 30th b-day party for my cousin. I wish I was 30 again.. Should be an interesting week at work. I'll be in Boston for a conference on Wednesday and Thursday so I've got a lot to do today and tomorrow.

Lala hope you are enjoying (and not sleeping) through the database seminar

Melissa Lauren loves going to Smokey Bones. One of her favorites. Glad the snow missed you.

Well I'll try to get back on later. Hi to Lisa and Susan..

Its official --I own too many pairs of black shoes. Cleaning out a closet for dress for success and just gobsmacked at how many pairs of black shoes I have. Most are pretty darn nice and in style, so I can't get rid of them....

Really focusing on getting back in the groove so that I can wear all these little black shoes with my favorite boot cut jeans, skirts and maybe even buy a few new things...

Okay, back to finding references for my nebulous paper topic.

Good morning. DH and I woke at 3 am and couldn't sleep. At 3:45 he gave up and decided to go to work. So I've been at my desk since 5:15. Nice and quiet this time of day

We had a wild weather day here yesterday. Lots of wind, rain and fog. Can't tell yet what today will bring (still too dark).

I am running out of things that fit. I'm looking frantically for that "click" to take hold. Anyone have any suggestions? I refuse to buy bigger clothes, and I don't feel right about coming to work naked.

Susan,

I would buck up and buy at least two decent outfits that you are comfortable in (maybe a bit snugger in the waist than is comfortable or something you can take in). I am in the same boat. I bought two skirts in a bigger size that were inexpensive (16.99 USD) at TJ Maxx that look much more expensive. If they get too loose, then I've invested 38 bucks plus tax to extend my wardrobe.

If its suits you need, go to a consignment shop and then return when they are too big.

Its no fun tugging at your waistband and getting depressed.

As for early risers, did you call Roya and tell her to get me up?

It should be nice here today. I am going to the Drs. this afternoon to see what the heck is going on with my shoulder. I have limited range of motion and some nasty pain. It feels like I tore or pulled something. Unfortunately, its my right shoulder, the one I use.

Other than that, work, weed, prune, vacuum, declutter, research, eat, sleep in my future.

Hi all! It was a little rainy here this morning but it cleared up enough that I could get outside for a short walk over the lunch hour. Now I'm fighting the mid-afternoon slump. I've got a fat orientation folder staring me in the face and I just don't have the energy or ambition to tackle it. I keep shuffling the papers

Lala: I think my DS #1 has more shoes that I do these days...he's always buying a new pair of sneakers. I haven't found a good pair of boot cut jeans that I feel comfortable in. Hope you find out what's causing the pain in your shoulder and hopefully it won't be anything major.

Susan: I agree with Lala, you should get something you're comfortable in but not too "loose" so that you can keep focused on the task at hand. It's terrible when the "click" isn't there but maybe if you loosen up a little and try to recapture the feeling of when you first joined WW and began the program. Try and visualize how you felt when you lost your first XX pounds, etc. You can do it!!!

Pam: We had rain this morning and the temps have been steadily climbing since just before lunch--it's a balmy 67 out there but I'm sure they'll be dropping later on.

Lisa: Hi!

I have dinner plans this evening and I'll be forced to be good because tomorrow is WI day so that'll be good incentive. I'm meeting a friend at Olive Garden so it should be fun. Two weeks until my vacation

Thanks for the good advice guys. Perhaps I'll go out this weekend and have a look. It kills me to have to do this, particularly after buying several new outfits last year.

I had a better day yesterday. And I am trying to do what Melissa suggested, remembering how excited I was to be down a few pounds and how committed I became after each loss.

lala: What did the doctor have to say about your shoulder?

Melissa: You must be excited with your trip so close at hand. You're going to Florida, aren't you?

Any big plans for the weekend? I intend to start painting the downstairs bedroom. It's a big room, so I probably won't get it finished but if I can get it half done, I'll be pleased. DH's parents are coming in a few weeks and I'd like things to be back to normal by then.

DH is making great progress on the renovations to the downstairs bathroom. The toilet should go in this weekend, then it's just the little things like a few tiles, calking, etc. He's done a nice job.

Hi to Lisa and Pam.

Hi everyone!

I'm in the middle of the conference call that could be from Heck or not. Looks like it could be more from heaven now that there are less people attending.

Anyways, I seem to have a case of tendonitis. Rest, aleve, heat for moi. Hopefully no PT.

Melissa -- other than tea rooms, what else is on the agenda for your getaway?

Susan -- I know its hard to buy new clothes in a bigger size. I may have to do this with tops, that is a real pain.

No plans for the weekend, building survey for my preservation class, plant sale, garden planting and weeding, cooking, cleaning, chilling and maybe getting a start on my paper for my seminar with no direction....

I am going to weigh in today. I am afraid.

Good morning! TGIF...it's been a looonnnngggg week here! Next week is finals for the students and then the campus will be quiet. Unfortunately our office will be heading into our busiest time of the year! It does make the day go by faster though.

Susan: Yes, I'm going to Florida. I'm really looking forward to seeing my GF and her 2 kids. Her daughter was so cute when I talked with her this past week, she said "You're coming for tea tours?" It's going to be fun. How is everything else going for you? Have you looked at your old materials and tried to recapture the feeling of being a "new member"? You can do it!!

Lala: A lot of our plans revolve around the tea rooms. I'll also be going to her daughter's dance recital and probably out for dinner. I'm sure we'll have some other things going on but the big events will be tea rooms. How did your WI go? I was up .2 and was happy with that since I had gone out to dinner the night before and enjoyed 2 glasses of wine.

Lisa: How's everything with you? Are you done with your show?

Pam: Hope things have quieted down for you.

No major plans for the weekend--I really need to tackle my cleaning but I've been putting it off and I can't keep doing that! Have a great day ladies!

Happy rainy Friday.

Well that is what its like here, good slugging weather and my veggies are happy.

Melissa -- its busy for everyone, the students are probably hitting the books for the first time in a while, can't you hear their little brains churning?
Just think, you will be walking around Florida listening to palm trees and palmettos and remember to apply sunblock. Its definitely something to get you through the next week.

Everyone else must be mucho busy.

I'm trying to stay out of trouble, weighed in and got a rude awakening, so I'm sort of back on track. I am trying to decide between core and flex. Core requires a bit more planning than I can do this week, so I am trying to eat core like foods while flexing. I think that the advent of strawberry season will have me coring because I love fruit and don't want to have to count it.

I am looking forward to tomorrow (after my class survey), its been a very emotional and stressful week at work and even though everything is resolved and I'm probably going to have a new level of responsibilties placed on my shoulders, its going to be good for my career path.

Have a great weekend all!
