Default Any on not going to meetings...just using the books?

I am just using the books I had from WW 2 years ago. Anyone else doing that and is it working for you? By the way I am getting married in June and need to lose 12 more pounds by then.

Many people do some sort of an 'at home program' be it if they purchased the at home program or got all their books and quit going to meetings. Some it works for and some it doesn. I believe there is an At Home Forum in here that may help you with support.

Yeah some of us need the accountability of a weekly weigh-in and meeting - like ME!

I have done it at home before with just the books. I would suggest you set up a weekly at home weigh in so that you have a schedule. Also pre-planning meals and menus helped me a lot.

Using on-line support here is great too and there a lot of recipes in our WW forum as well as the recipes on the 3fc page show the points values.

I also find the WW magazine very helpful too.

Good luck with your plan!

Statistics show that those who attend the meetings and participate have a higher success rate.

Maybe you can enlist a buddy that lives close by for some help and support?

Quilter, can you provide where these statistics are because I'd like to have them for a class? There is nothing that I have seen that shows that. There are so many who are have great success including the maintenance phase utilizing both the At Home program and Online versions of W/W that has been put out by W/W. Many of these people have been featured in W/W success stories.

I really think it depends on the person if they can make the 'at home' or 'online' programs a success. Personally I don't stay for meetings and do everything online except for my weighing. When I (this is me personally) do it only at home I don't have the best success..while I can usually maintain I'll go up and down. However it is more the discipline of having to pay to weight that keeps me going to meetings to weigh.

But remember you can do anythign you put your mind to and don't let "STATISTICS" make you fail.

Hi! I do not go to WW meetings. Since June, I have been meeting with a group at my church. It is a First Place weightloss/bible study group. But, I do not like the food plan for myself and used my old WW materials. I have the accountability of the group, but moniter my own eating and have had success. So much so, that half the class has converted to WW points system instead. Personally, I do better with accountability. If you don't go to the meetings, I think that you should maybe get together with a couple of friends to discuss new recipes and WI. That's what me and some friends are planning to do if the church ever stops these studies.

Good luck on the 12#! It is definately doable!

I am following the materials at home and not attending meetings. I did go a few years ago but didn't like our meetings- I work all different hours and found it hard to attend. and now I just dont want to spend the money on them - I am using the meeting fees to spend on rewards instead, if I take the the first ten weeks and joining fee I can buy a mini ipod off ebay so that is my 10kg goal/reward. I am very commited and am doing well at the moment but if the time comes when I feel I need more support than what I get here I will join agian and attend meetings.
cheers
Tess.

Rebecca - I lost doing WW at home since I was unable to get away for the meetings at the time I joined. My only concern for you is the fiber cap - not sure which version of info you have. But as long as you have the cap at 4, and follow the basics, you should be ok.

I too am one of those who have to go to the meetings to weigh-in. I tried doing it on my own and couldn't.

Jane....Wow...85 lbs!!! I know you're so proud!
