Hi i've posted before but i realy didn't tell much about my self. I'm 26, have 2 children, been married for 8 years. i've been over wieght most of my life. I've tried many diets and some diet pills. Now the extra weight i've had most of my life has to go. Now i have to see a heart Dr every six months a little scare because my dad had a heart attack when he was 25. i've been trying to loss for a while but just can't seem to find the right diet and exercise for me.
Can anyone tell me how you found the right diet and exercise? and how you know that it was the right one for you because there so many diets out there and its hard to find one just right.
I've done them all!
Hi Basic 75! I have dieted most of my life also and always end up gaining all the weight back plus a little bit more. Well about 6 years ago I discovered the Atkins diet and lost weight very quickly, after awhile I got sick of all the meat and cheese and went back to eating the way I prefer--carbs--breads, pasta, rice, etc. Faster than I lost it I gained it back plus much more, I am now over 200 pounds (never thought I could gain so much). The point is you must not find a diet but a way of eating that you can live with pretty much forever. I am now in Weight Watchers and love it. I can eat anything I want as long as I stay within my point range, I have been steady losing 2 pounds a week. Each day you begin with a set amount of points and you deduct everything you eat from them until you use them up, fruits and veggies are very low in points (some are 0 points) so you are encouraged to eat healthy. I find myself really thinking about eating really fattening things because I don't want to use all my points up (although at times I gave in!) You will find that most of the time it is not worth it. You also get bonus points every week and can really splurge if you desire. This is just normal eating, normal food. I sum it up like this if you have something really bad early in the day then you need to have a light dinner/snacks, but if you have alot left then you could have a bigger dinner--just a balancing act really. Check out WW! I love it. Carol
I think I will check out ww. My friend bought a ww home kit didn't use it she tryed to sell me it for 20 dollars. She said she paid over 100 for it maybe thats what I should do. Thanks you.
