  • Hi everyone,
I found this site a while ago but never posted. Now I feel that having someone to talk to that is going through the same thing as me would be a good thing.
So, alittle about me..... I am 31 with 2 kids age 11 and 3, married to a great guy for 12 years, and NEED to lose weight.
I started weight watchers about 8 weeks ago and have lost 16.2 pounds so far. My heaviest weight so far was 252 but am now down to 236. Not sure yet what my ultimate goal is, just know that I need to be much lighter. I weigh in on Monday nights so I find it easier to behave over the weekend because I have to see the scale right after.
I am looking for anyone who would like to chat and compair notes about losses, gains, weight watchers, or anything to help each other out. Motivation is a great weight loss tool.
  • Welcome umma!

There is a lot of info here and lots of support - just check all the threads and post anything you might want to know or anything that you want to talk about.
  • Welcome to the boards umma. I think you'll find a lot of support and inspiration here.

Inspiration and motivation are what I'm looking for too. I am a WW lifetime member. I reached goal for the first time a little over 12 years ago, then again 5 years ago. I kept the weight off quite successfully until this year. Little by little, an unwanted 10 lbs has come back, and I need to find the motivation that kept me going to lose the original 25 lbs.

I am 50, no children - just tropical fish. My DH can and does eat anything and everything and still succeeds in staying at a healthy weight. That's the most annoying thing I can say about him after 12 years!

I have set a mini goal of 6 pounds off by Nov. 25th (US Thanksgiving). I will have to work mighty hard to achieve that but I'm willing to take the journey with you if you're interested. I never did achieve my personal goal of 138. That's about 20 lbs less than I weight right now.
  • Hi Umma!
I am 30, 4 kids and very overweight. I have been doing weight watchers for 4 weeks and have lost 8.6 pounds. My goal I am setting right now is 130, but I would really like to get down to 120. I guess it will just depend on what I look like when I get there. Right now I am trying to focus on my goal of 2 pounds a week, rather than thinking of how much further I have to go. I am hoping if I can average around 2 pounds a week for a year, I will be able to have lost 104 pounds! So far I have been accomplishing it, but I went off plan a little this week, so I am nervous about weighing in on Thursday. It does help to have someone to share tips, questions, and concerns about food, weight, and dieting.

Which plan are you doing? The Core or flex plan?
  • HI everyone,
Glad to see that I'm not alone here. I am doing the flex plan and seem to be finding it easier on some days and harder on others. My real problem is getting all the veggies and healthy oils in for the day. Most days it just doesn't happen. Exercising is also not something I do on a daily basis. I would love to set goals, but when I do I figure that I don't have to tell anyone about what I did or didn't do so I cheat.....ALOT.
So, maybe if you want to we can all set weekly goals, so that I have someone to kick me in the butt or tell me congrats. Think it would be easier that way. Let me know.
By the way, how do you all get those cute tickers and stuff?

    Have a healthy day, Lori
  • Trying to get all the fruits and veggies in can be hard. One thing I do is add berries or sliced banana to cereal or yogurt to sneak some extra fruit in

Also making a salad for lunch with 3 cups lettuce and assorted cut up raw veggies can bring you up to 4 servings of vegetables and you can get your healthy oils in by making up your own dressing.
  • TickerFactory.com has the "tickers". I think weekly goals or great! I pretty much have blown this week. I cheated big time on Sunday, and then I had 2 margaritas last night. So my goal for this week is to just try to stay the same as I was last week. I am just hoping that I did not GAIN weight!! I need to go get my youngest son from Pre-K. Talk to you soon!
  • Hi there, I've been 'doing' WW since Jan 2004, and have found it really easy to follow. I count points, although our system over here is not quite like your flex programme.
I am 35, been married 12 years, have a little boy who has just turned 3 and will be turning into a glamorous granny (hopefully) sometime in the next couple of weeks!
I joined WW because I was very overweight, I am only 5'1 so every pound shows, and also for health reasons. Although I am now almost at goal, not too much to go now, I have now come to the conclusion that even at goal, I will always be a fat person. I will always have to go to WW, and always have to follow the programme, if I don't I know from past experience that the weight will just creep back on. For the first time I consider this to be a lifetime change, this time, there really is no going back.

I just wanted to add, that as well as the veggies and the oils, don't forget the dairy and especially the water. The water really does help wash everything out of your system, gets all your 'bits' working more efficiently and therefore help you lose weight more steadily. If you struggle to get all your water in to begin with, don't worry, just build it up slowly until it becomes a habit, and until you miss it if you don't get it. I now am in a position that if I don't drink the water, as well as my regular cups of tea etc, then my body tells me I'm thirsty and its time to get some water.

Anyway, good luck, if you want more support and sometimes just a general chat or moan, there are a few of us on the 'Lets support each other...' thread. You would be more than welcome to join in.

    Take care all.
  • Have a good day everybody.............

  • Weigh In is tonight!
I weigh in tonight and I am so nervous about it!! I did so bad this past weekend, I don't see how I can not have a weight gain! This will be my first weigh in where I have not lost. One week I only lost .30, but it was still a loss...

We had "Core Spaghetti" last night, and it turned out awesome! I used lean hamburger meat, and added tomato sauce, a can of diced tomatoes with garlic, basil, and oregano. Then I added more garlic and oregano, salt, pepper, and olive oil. My kids never even suspected the spaghetti was whole wheat, they loved it! I will fix Chili today, because my husband has been asking for it again....

    How is everyone doing?
