Funny this came up again today because I was just going to say Thank You to whoever posted about the variety box from Bakers Box. You get 3 or 4 of each flavor cookie. I just got mine last week and agree with all that's been said about them. They've all been good, although I'm sure by the end of this tasting I'll have my favorites. I agree that they really last until lunch whereas with most breakfasts I'm eatting again by mid morning. With 3 teens in the house who eat everything that's not tied down, I've had to threaten the family that these are "mine" and they can only have one by special permission, but I just told my 12 year old this morning that he could take one on the Boy Scout campout for Sunday breakfast since they'll pack light, taste good, and be filling. Try them! You'll like them.

I like the double choc chip the best. I didn't care for the ginger molasses - too overpowering of ginger (I think) for my tastes. I don't buy any of the flavors with raisins, since I don't like raisins. I like the rest of the flavors, though.

REC - I eat about 1-2 of these per day - I am addicted to them. BTW, you posted on the lifetime thread about trying the 12 week journal - how's it working out for you? Are you more committed to journaling as a result?

Katie

katie-- Thanks for remembering! Yes, the 12 week journal is working well, because I don't want to look back on this and be embarrased by what I ate. (Plus sweetie might see it!) I'm also keeping accurate account of my exercise and am graphing my progress.

I figured I'd update the group every 4 weeks. So far, I've done 2 6/7 weeks (weigh in tomorrow for week 3) and have lost 3.6 pounds (as of last week).

BTW, sometimes I, too, eat two of these cookies a day. They are soooooooo good!

REC -

Wow, you are doing really well. Please post on the lifetime/maintenance thread with your updates. I'd like to hear how it goes for you.

I have decided to kind of go into the "maintenance" mode after getting a little frustrated with not being able to get below 140 (I've come as close as 140.4). Even when I lost weight with WW about 13-14 years ago, I never got any lower than 140.5 (& I was only 26-27 then!) So, I have decided to back off on that for right now. I can wear a size 8 in most everything, so I am trying to concentrate on that number instead of the number on the scale so much (it's hard for me to do, though! )

See you,
Katie

katie-- that's exactly what I did! I stayed on maintenence for 5 months (longer than I expected) and then, finally, was ready to start losing again, with the same enthusiasm as when I first joined WW! That's when the journal idea kicked in.

I take it from your stats and weight goal, you're 5'6". A size 8 is GREAT for that height! I'm a 1/2" taller and want to be a 10 (again!) I don't care how much I weigh, just as long as I'm in a 10. In fact, you're probably healthier with more weight in a smaller size, because that weight will be from muscle, not fat.

Have you every had your body fat measured? Years ago when I had trouble losing weight, I found out I was 22% body fat (a good number). Perhaps you are in a similar situation, which is very healthy.

Hey REC -
Actually, I am 5 ' 7 ", but I decided to stick with my original WW goal weight from the first time of 145. I think I did "officially" change it with WW from 145 to 153 just so I wouldn't have to sweat any unexpected gain, but I still use 145 as my goal - I don't want too big of a cushion - that may be too tempting for me....

I think I recall having my body fat done way back when I was in my late 20s - that might be something else to move my focus from the scale. This time when I lost the weight, I did take my measurements before & during my weight loss to give myself another way to gauge my weight loss other than just the scale.

I was down to 140.4 at the end of Dec 2000, but have been fluctuating within a couple of pounds since then. I guess I don't really think I am really well-muscled or toned, but I have never really had that type of build. I guess I appear somewhat "fit" & people usually guess my weight about 10-15 pounds less than my actual weight. I am somewhat smallish thru the shoulders, have a fairly small bust and waist. I am a little bigger through the hips & leg, but not really pear-shaped.

I like to see what other women weigh who are around my height to get some kind of idea of the range. It seems I am somewhere around the middle range for my height.

I just may look into having my body fat measured.

Thanks for the info, REC.
Later,
Katie

katie,
I think I have talked to you before- I am in the same situation as you- I also would like to get into the 130's, and am hovering at 140.2 this week. It's all a stupid mind thing, I think! I am 5 6 and a half, and wear a size 9 right now- so you must be more toned than I am if you wear a 8- thats great! I would love to be an 8!! What kind of a point range do you eat in? And how many activity pts do you usually have? I am still so new at this all, I don't know what to do! How many pts do you eat to maintain?
Sorry to be a pest, I am really struggling with the program lately and could really use some help!

BigFatBooty (if you stick with WW, you'll have to change your name!) For most of us, we need to mail order them. www.bakersbox.com is a great site and you can get the variety pack--3 of each flavor. RosieA, above, suggested www.any-gifts.com . I haven't found a flavor I didn't like. 4 points per cookie and VERY filling.

Katie & Saskie--Looks like we are all about the same height and goal, although I'm still in a size 12 (they are getting a little big, though). I'm 5' 6 1/2", and set my goal to 153 (the 5'7" goal). My personal goal is a size 10, which will be about 135-140, a weight I know I can maintain without starving myself.

Saskie I just broke the 150 pound (20-25 point)barrier which means I have 2 points less (18-23 points)!!! In the past 3 weeks, I've averaged 25 points per day, typically between 23 and 29, and have lost 5.4 pounds. I earn at least 3 exercise points per day, sometimes up to 5. With the new range, I'll probably just cut back to 24 because of all the exercizing I'm doing.

I just started a new 12 week journaling idea, which you may find helpful. Here's the link: http://www.3fatchicks.com/ubb//Forum17/HTML/000821.html .

Hey saskie -

Sorry I didn't respond to your post earlier, but I've been on vacation and just got back. I really don't know how many points I need to maintain since I have just started getting into the maintenance mode in the last couple weeks. I was vacationing in Orlando last week and ate like a horse & didn't even bother to journal or count points!

I try to exercise a MINIMUM of 5 days a week (usually around 6 days) & I just got a treadmill about six weeks ago and usually walk about 4 miles/hr at a 5 or 6 % incline for about 30-45 minutes per session. Before that I used an Nordic Track ski machine or Nordic Track Walk fit. I don't do any strength training yet but know it would be a great addition to my regime - just can't seem to want to get started!

You are probably the same size as me - I don't know if I could wear a size 9 in pants - I fit better into the misses sizes - they seem to be longer through the rise for me. Plus the sizes vary so much - I can almost always wear an 8 or smaller in a top or blouse, but almost never can wear anything smaller than an 8 in slacks (maybe in a skirt).

I'd be curious to see how you, REC & I compare measurement-wise, since we seem to be close in height, weight, etc.

I may do what REC is doing - use the WW 12 week journal and see if that would propel me into the wonderful world of the 130s!! Sounds like it is working great for her!

I'll see both of you over on the lifetime thread....

Katie

I have found the Bakers Cookies at three different Osco/Jewel stores. They always place them right in front of the Customer Service Desk on a big shelving unit they drag out when they get their newest shipment.

Default BAKER'S BOX COOKIES ARE CHANGING

Baker's Box has changed their cookies. They will be lower in fiber, smaller, and higher in fat. For more info, check out the discussion at Dotti's:
