How Often??

  • I am doing ww on my own. I do not go to any meetings and I have a couple of questions maybe someone can answer for me .
1- how often should i check my weight?
2- i see many of you weigh in once a week, why is that?
3-on ww about how much should a person loose a week?

I am really trying to loose weight and it is very difficult bc i have polysistic ovaries but i continue trying bc i know although it is difficult it is not impossible.

also is there anyone out there who post everyday. i need an online friend.

I would suggest you weigh yourself once a week. Most of us do that on here because of weight fluctuation, or at least that is why I do it. Your weight can change from day to day because of water, too much sodium one night, etc...You can drive yourself nuts by looking everyday, I know I did....

Also I believe that the WW program is designed for slow, safe weight loss of about 1-2 pounds per week. I do WW at home and have been since Jan 5th of this year, I have lost 37 pounds since then so that is about 1.85 pounds per week, and I am very, very happy with that!!!!

I post on here just about everyday, so feel free to pm me with any questions...or join me at where I regularly post at Time for Serious Fun in Support Groups... Good luck!!!!!
  • Thank you sooo much Carri.

I have been weighing myself once a week and I see hardly no change I get so frustrated!! I am going on vacation Sept 13th and need to loose a total of atleast 30lbs and feel like it is just impossible..

When I first started posting I weighed 190 then went up to 195 again now I weighed myself today and I was pleased to see that the scale(my worse nightmare) said 189!!

Thank you once again for taking time out to write to me
  • Hi PR Godess, I'm here just about every day. I need support as well. I'm currently posting all the time on the "back and ready for action crusade" thread. If you check in on that thread each day, you'll get tons of friendly support!
I feel like "we" on that thread have created a great team, we're really supporting each other. Group support is important. Please feel welcome to join in with us, I noted that you posted once or twice there and never came back.
I highly recommend, if you can afford it, going to the ww meetings. There you will find great friends and good ideas and the all important motivating weigh in. Somehow, when someone else is weighing you in each week, you really try harder? At least that helps for me.
WW recommends you weigh in once a week, however, I find myself weighing myself every day - can't help it, it's an addiction! I don't recommend that you or anyone else do that, but I have a "problem" in this area.
I love this web site and feel a great kindship with everyone here. We all have the same goals and totally understand when someone slips and goes for the chocolate, etc.
Good luck and keep trying. Set smaller goals for yourself instead of one huge goal, that will be more helpful. Also, set up a reward system for yourself when you lose 5 pounds, like a manucure, a special new outfit, etc. You go girl! I've lost 6 pouns in 5 weeks and when I get to 10 pounds I am buying a black dress that will hopefull show off my "new" figure a bit! My 20th wedding anniversary is 6/23 and I want to wear this dress and look great in it!

  • Thank you Linda

My actual goals are 10lbs a month which by the time I go away will equal a total of 30lbs. I also weigh myself just about everyday. It is also an addiction to me, I just want to see theat dam scale go down. I work so hard at losing although I do slack and dont walk everyday which I think that is my problem. I am happy with what I have already lost but I still have many more to go and with friends like you guys I am more then certain that I will lose it my Sept.

You go girl I know that you will be able to et into that pretty little dress very soon. Also congrats on your 20th!! That is another reason I aslo want to lose all that weight bc I to will have an anniversary in Sept(5yrs).
