Valentines day challenge Week #4
Here we go again ladies on to week # 4......We are 2 weeks away from victory!!!
|
Christian- Thats great that you are able to spend more time with your dh! :) I need t]to focus on that now too. A .5# gain is nothing, your attitude is great- I am interested to see if it works for you!
Diana- DH got the furnace fixed the next morning, thank goodness! It was a bit warmer here today too. :D Are you nursing your :bb: ? Will you take the full year leave? I am lucky- I took a year, worked for 6 months, now I am taking another break until I feel like subbing or until I find another job. Well, I did it! I went to the gym today! I did 20 bike, 15 stair climber, 15 x-trainer, and weights on my legs. It was GREAT! I am going to start going every morning at 6, before dh gets up for work. Tomorrow the whole family starts eating healthier, and I start journaling again. It is great to be at it again! Hope you all had fun weekends! |
Tara,
Glad to see you had fun at the gym  I know it makes my whole day go better knowing I am doing something to take care of myself :D Keep up the great work! |
Thanks, Christian. You are so right- working out just makes me feel better all day long! :D I love the stiffness and soreness I feel in my legs today!
I see that your status is TOPS Pal. Did you go to TOPS before WW? How does that work? I know they have that meeting all over, but I have never been! |
Hey Tara
I have been in Tops for over 4 years now...and I love it  It is only 20.00 a year and I weigh in once a week and get lots of support, The monthly fee at my chapter is 3.00 and I can afford that  Lots cheaper than WW meetings , and still get the results I want out of them ;) You should go sit in on a meeting in your area, who knows you may just love it like I do :D |
Hi, sorry I 've been MIA. I was in town at my Mom's yesterday and decided to stay overnight so I could do stuff out of the house again today.
Golfergirl, did you dig out of the snow yeet? Did you manage to get to the gym? You have a great attitude, keep it up and you will go far :spin: Tara, I'm not nursing, I didn't have enough milk and my doctor made me quit. I did for 6 weeks, and spent 12-15 hours a day trying to get him enough food. :stress: And yes, I plan to take my full year off. Why not, I get the EI cheques, and my job is waiting for me. Hopefully I can go back parttime. :crossed: I'm still waiting for word on that. Way to go on the gym yesterday :bravo:, did you go today? I'm going to join TOPS when we move for the two month period I'm there. My sister goes and I'd like to go with her. The TOPS here is very unmotivated and I don't know if there are ever any successes that come out of there :?: The prices are a whole lot more reasonable  :D I've been eating bad all weekend, and not counting points. I didn't count points today either but I have eaten better. Friday I did good and I had better do good tomorrow :nono: How are you doing? Well, I should go to bed, Diana |
HI Guys,
Diana, here's a :grouphug: to help you get on track. We all do it, I'm sure, and it helps me if I admit it, and put it in my past and get moving from there. Christian and Saskie, weigh to go on working out--especially up in snow country. I can only imagine how cold it must be when you head out the door at 6:00AM! It is a great comment that feeling your muscles a little sore actually feels good! It is a reminder that we did the right thing for ourselves by getting the exercise in. I had a great weekend away with my dh and dd. We headed upstate NY to visit our ds and his family. The grandkids are adorable and we had a great visit. No tension--which is a wonderful thing for me. I minded my p's and q's and things went very well. I stayed the same as far as weight. My daughter in law had fabulous snacks, but I calculated points, and did okay. Yesterday back home was terrific and today I intend to make a great day. Also I am going to WI tomorrow and give myself a little leeway hoping to see another loss this week. Good luck to all of us! Judy :cb: |
Judy-Glad to see you had a good time ;)
I love visiting with the family and just seeing how blessed we really are to have one another  I am sure you will do great at WI  |
Thanks Diana- I did get out of the snow, my 20 min drive yesterday was 2 hours and the roads were horrible. So No I didn't go to the gym last night. My husband just wanted me home and off the roads!! But I will be back there tonight! I can't wait!!!
For some reason I am not feeling good today at all, but I really want to go to the gym and get myself going. I ate so bad this weekend and I feel it!! Sorry I don't usually comment much on people's posts but I do read them and take the motivation!!! I need all I can get. I don't really notice changes yet, but I will I know it!! |
Christian- I might just do that! Do you follow WW at all, then?
Diana- That must have been horrible for you, trying to nurse and working so hard. :( Are you moving far from home for 2 months?? Don't sweat the days off, just get back on track! :) Judy- Way to go with the maintainence through your trip awway from home! Those are the times that are super hard for me! Well, as for me, I did not count pts OR go to the gym today. But I was bust running around town all day, so at least I was active! :D I woke up early, ready to go to the gym, and realized that the wonderful soreness I appreciated yesterday had gotten extremely intense overnight! :o I guess I over did it the first two days! Tomorrow morning I am going to hit the gym, then later on take dd swimming. I am also going to make a big batch of taco-veggy soup to fill me up for low pts! Only 9 days left until V-Day, how are we all doing? I think I am still at the same place I was 3 weeks ago...I better get cracking! |
Hi guys
Bad news....My computer went down :(:( I am at my dads right now using his. I wont be able to be online much for a few weeks, as I cannot afford to have it fixed right away ........ I hate it too because I LOVE my computer time and visiting through out the day, ....................Keep up the great work everyone, and kno0w even if I am not on here I am thinking of ya and I am still OP ;) Tara- I still do the WW, just dont go to their meetings, I just havent the finances right now and Tops is just way cheaper :D Well guys...I am gonna miss you all :grouphug: And I will return ASAP  |
Bye, Christian! :( We will miss you! Stay on track! I know what you mean about WW being pricey. A good way to attend the meetings for free is to work them- which I guess you have done since you were a leader. How come you quit? I feel like I should know, but I have a bad memory! :o
Well, I am journalling today, and plan to go to the gym when dh gets home from work. I also got the ingredients to make a drink I keep reading about in various magazines- a fat flush. Have any of you ever tried it? The mag I got the recipe from recommends drinking it all day for one day, and not eating or drinking anything else except water. I think I will just count the points and include it in my day! There is nothing unhealthy in it, so it can't hurt me!! My MIL and SIL started going to WW last week. I am hoping this will be added motivation! |
Tara- What is that drink?? What's the recipe?? I need to do something to get this weight off!!!!
Off to the gym after work. I had a taco sald for lunch and I am still stuffed, good, I will have a small dinner!! :-) |
Fat Flush Drink
Golfergirl- Wow, I never noticed that you had such an ambitious goal for the month! :D Good luck!
As for the fat flush drink, I am drinking it right now, and it is GOOD. I figure it probably won't flush any fat, but I am a big tea/juice drinker, so I am drinking it hot and that helps keep me full! It is just another way to get in lots of liquids! Here is the recipe: (I got it from a Dec. issue of Women's World) 8 oz unsweetened cranberry juice (I had to use light cranberry juice, all I could find!) 52 oz water 3/4 c unsweetened oj 1/4 c lemon juice (both of these were supposed to be fresh, but I used what I had!) 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp ground ginger 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg Bring the juices to a boil, then add the spices and simmer for 10-15 minutes. It said to use Stevia to sweeten it if needed, but I just used Equal because I had it! The article said it would make you 3 lbs lighter by the evening, but I wouldn't count on anything! I am sure it will just act as a diuretic and make you pee like a maniac! I think it tastes a lot like cider or something, and really like it! Also, I have been reading a lot lately about how spices such as the ones in this recipe help speed your metabolism. Whatever, it tastes good! :p The ingredients I used add up to 2 pts for the whole huge batch. Worth it, IMHO! ;) |
Thanks Tara, I will give it a try! You're right it probably won't actually make you lose weight, but if it tastes good and possibly speeds up the metabolism I will do it!! Besides I love juices too :-)
I do have an ambitious goal for Feb, which I WON'T hit, But I have done everything else that I have set for my goal, I just won't hit the weight portion. So, I can't complain at all. Thanks for the recipe!! I will give it a try~!! |
