Unhappy

SusanSil got me motivated to get to my goal by suggesting this board. She used to be an active "talker" but I haven't seen any post from her in months. Does anyone know if she's ok?

REC -
I have occasionally seen her post here and there, but it is a rarity. She seems to have disappeared from the lifetime/maintenance thread. I enjoyed her posts as well.

Wow, REC, what a surprise to check into 3fc and find your post! I am quite humbled. Although I lurk from time to time, I guess it has been a while since I've posted. I sort of got sick of hearing myself talk, if that makes any sense.

I am still around, still maintaining, still doing all the right things (most of the time) just not spending as much time on-line. Next month will be my 3 year lifetime anniversary! Wish I could report that it gets easier but, unfortunately, I can't.

How have you been? I did notice that you made lifetime. Wonderful! Are you still biking? It may have been tough to keep it up through the winter, but Kelly Drive will soon be in bloom and provide a great ride.

Kt marie, thanks for the recognition. I'm glad the "new" lifetimers are carrying on!

I promise to not be a stranger.

Like Katie, I too enjoyed your posts and insights! I am glad that you're still doing WW OK.

Congratulations on your 3rd lifetime anniversary. Even though I've only maintained for 6 months, I do understand that it is hard, almost harder than losing! There's nobody around saying "you look great staying the same." I'm still working on my personal goal, but it is in sight.

I keep off my bike during the winter (just too cold), but plan on jumping back on as soon as the weather warms. I started yoga, again, about 2 months ago, trying to get some more flexibility. Feels great (usually). You're still spinning? I haven't been to a class yet because it is just too loud and don't like it when a teacher screams thru it, like they do at my gym.

Have you decided to go thru leadership training yet? I think our area is looking for good leaders.

Take care,

REC, yes, I am still spinning. You are right, the instructor can make or break a class. I am lucky, the few instructors that I don't particularly like, teach at times I am not interested in.

Ahhhh, the WW training. I'm quite embarrassed about that. I applied in the spring and hadn't heard anything. I kept calling the main office, bugging the daylights out of them. I had my leader calling also. The area coordinator was seriously ill and her job was falling through the cracks.

Anyway, I finally was scheduled for an orientation, went, and walked out totally drained. I thought, "Am I nuts, I don't want to do this..." So when they called to ask me to enter training, I turned them down. The lady called back twice, trying to convince me, but I just felt it wasn't the right time for me.

I felt so foolish, after all those months of bugging them, and yapping about it here & to friends. Oh well, maybe some other time.

Yoga, I commend you! I keep thinking it would do me some good and have even taken some classes. I find myself thinking, "Come on, let's get moving..." the whole time. LOL So obviously, the reasons I don't enjoy it are the exact reasons I need it most -- to slow down & relax! I love the idea of yoga -- it's so noble -- but my personality fights it.

Susan,

Sorry to hear that the WW training wasn't what you expected, but at least you did go after it, even if you decided ultimately that it wasn't for you at this time. At least you won't look back asking "what if...."

Yoga. I know what you mean about some yoga. My first yoga class the teacher had us laying on the floor "relaxing" more than she had us in poses. My brain was just like your's ("let's get mooooooving here!"). So, I found other classes that moved faster and I enjoy them so much more. One day I hope to be strong enough to do astanga yoga, probably the most athletic exercise I've ever done in my life. I went to one astanga practice (90 minutes) and then took a 3 hour naps when I got home; I was sooooo tired. Right now I practice something mid way between the extremes. It's a nice balace between my walking and ST.

Keep well and on OP. I always enjoy reading your posts.
