  • Today it was:

    B: oatmeal (made w/ milk)/honey/cinnamon, coffee w/ milk (9 pts)
    S: banana (0 pts)
L: 2 eggs w/ emmental (similar to swiss cheese), 2 slices of whole wheat toast & butter, yoghurt with honey (18 pts.. OMG!)
    S: 2 clementines (0 pts)
D: chicken salad, 1 wasa cracker & 1 laughing cow cheese, yoghurt with honey (9 pts)

I ran out of dark chocolate, so I didn't get to savor my daily square, but oh well. Also, today was my first day at the gym and when I got home I was SO hungry! My baby was getting fussy, so I just made a quick lunch. I should have had only 1 piece of toast because 18 pts for lunch is way too much! I did go over today by 2 pts because I had another yoghurt with dinner, but I needed my sweet fix. Tomorrow is weigh in day!

    Tanyanka,

If you don't mind me asking, in Switzerland, what are some extremely tasty, addicting dishes, that one would should avoid? (assuming one travels to Switzerland)

Hmm... tough question, as this really depends on personal tastes! There are the typical specialities people like to try (and I believe you should try when travelling) like Fondue or Raclette. Both dishes entail huge amounts of hot, melted cheese. Hint #1: Try to eat it at a market (like an x-mas market), where you can get only small portions and don't have to eat a full meal of it. So you get to try it and don't overeat on it.
Hint #2: Always drink a warm tea with it and NEVER EVER a cold beverage. The tea will help you to digest the cheese, a cold beverage will give you nasty tummy aches.
I honestly wouldn't avoid anything, just eat it in moderation. But then I'm one who loves to discover new foods in foreign countries.
Well... maybe avoid the typical Fastfood. Don't go to McDonalds or BurgerKing. It's too expensive here anyways.

Worth mentioning I use Country Crock Light butter, and have a home-made ranch dressing.

Snack: Small Salad, just lettuce and 1 Tbs Blue Cheese (2 points)

Dinner: Leftover Buffalo Chicken Lettuce Wraps (9 points)

Snack: Yoplait with Granola (4 points) and Glass of Wine (2 points) Arbor Mist
  • Tanyanka - I finally looked up online what quark is, it looks really good! I've never seen it in France before but it reminds me of fromage blanc

sunarie those buffalo chicken wraps sound sooooo good! I wish I could find wing sauce here :/

    Wednesday's menu was:

    B: oatmeal w/ agave syrup & cinnamon, coffee w/ milk (9 pts)

I had a great workout at the gym & then took my baby for a walk in the afternoon, so overall I earned 12 pts in activity for today, woohoo!
  • TheLunchLady there's probably a way to make some wing sauce. Usually it's just butter, spices, Worcestershire, and hot sauce. Something like this:
    http://www.cooks.com/recipe/7x5uh2u2...auce-ever.html
Just replace the frank's with your choice of hot sauce. Crystal and Red Hot are ones that are fairly popular here.

Here's one with pictures and all:

  • LunchLady: Yes, I think fromage blanc would be the equivalent in France, in Swiss French it's also called séré, if that helps. We have something called Blanc Battu here as well, which is similar. I really really love Quark, as it can be used for both sweet and savoury dishes and it's a light alternative for anything with cream cheese, cream etc. And it's a fantastic base for dips of any kind.

  • So I'm sick today, may end up getting Subway instead of cooking.. I work late and right now is my breakfast time. Here's the meal plan though. If I do Subway I'm still gonna try and do the smoothie and yogurt, but cut out the wine. That way I'll still be at 36 points for the day.

Breakfast: Carnation Instant Breakfast Drink (4 points)

    Lunch/Dinner: 6" Subway Sandwich (11 points)

Edited to reflect what I ate.
  • sunarie, I hope you feel better today!
I don't know what was up with me yesterday, but I had cravings all day long and ended up going over my daily points. Which wasn't terrible in the end, because I still had plenty of weekly points left. It might just be that time of the month.

    Yesterday's Menu:
Breakfast: the usual I eat every day. I'm really boring that way.
    12 points

    Snack: Quark and Raspberries
    1 Point

Tanyanka, now I have to ask - what is rocket? Also I was really hungry all day too, I would have say it's about to be that time of month but I haven't had a period since I breastfeed, haha
