Default points not being reduced in meeting. Help please.

Been attending meetings for over six months. Have lost over 20 lbs. Have never been told by a WW rep. to reduce my points. I bought one of those hand calculator things and I have been over-eating points for months with piddly weight loss! How do I handle this? Has anyone else had this awful experience? Are your points checked/adjusted at meetings regularly??? Thank you for any information you can give me.

Your points would probably have been changed on the stamp they put in your weight record everytime you weigh in. AS to why they never mentioned that they changed I have no idea. Next time you weigh in just mention it.

How many daily points are the WW reps saying you should be eating? What is a "piddly weight loss" for you?

I think I started with 42 points at 279 but now I get 35 at 231. *But I do online-only.

was at 34 points, now at 30 (223#). Have lost 23 lbs in 11 months., but just 6 lbs since the beginning of the year.

The stamp that the receptionist uses is just a date stamp on a sticker. They also write in the "todays weight" column and the "total loss" column only. The "current daily PointsPlus Target" box is always blank.

I am very annoyed at my local franchise. What to do? What to say?

Have you not been using the calculator to calculate food points or do you log with etools? Etools changes your points when you enter your weight each week. It sounds like you aren't in a WW Center since you say it's a hand stamp. At centers the points are automatically printed on your weigh in stamp and they also update etools. I've never had this experience and I'm sorry you did. Is your meeting very busy? It might be really difficult to individually compute points for everyone and get the meeting started on time. I never rely on someone else to figure my points because age and activity level are part of it.

I'm doing things the old fashioned way. Manually. I attend meetings weekly. I assumed that they would hold up their end of the contract and let me know when I should be reducing points. My husband is also a member. New. They have not lowered his points either, and my little manual ww grey calculator says that he should have had his points reduced last week - and nothing was said.....

Is the center computerized? I thought they all were now. I'd definitely ask about it in a nice way or ask the leader instead of the weigher. Is your center a franchise location? They have some different policies there as far as cost and how things are done. You do know the cheapest way to do WW is the monthly pass which gives you free etools?

I know in our area, I have had to ask about my points. I agree they should have mentioned it but you need to be proactive as well and just ask the question. I use etools and have the calculator so do not need them to change it for me.

I would mention it to them and say you are disappointed that they did not tell you about it.

I was told from day 1 that I needed to make sure I was periodically checking my points to make sure I wasn't eating too many. I had eTools so it helped me, but even now that I don't I know I have to adjust on my calculator.

I haven't been in WW recently, but in my previous memberships, no one ever told me when to adjust my points, it was my responsibility. If that hasn't changed, maybe you didn't have a very good leader for your orientation. The last time I was a member, right in orientation, we were told the point guidelines were a starting point and if we were happy with our weight loss, we could keep our point alottment for as long as we were satisfied with our weight-loss, and if we weren't happy, we were responsible for adjusting our point allowances. Some people never have to change their alottment, riding it all the way to goal, others might have to experiment, perhaps even outside of the official guidelines.

If you aren't happy with your weight loss, don't wait for WW staff to tell you to readjust your point alottment, do it yourself. If you're not comfortable doing that, talk to your leader or weight recorder and bring up the subject, telling him or her that you've been thinking of adjusting your point allowance (my guess is that you'll receive encouragement).

We also have the manual stamps at our location. They've never updated my point allowance. I always took it that it was my responsibility based on the handbook and orientation. The electronic calculator should ask you whenever you start a new week what your weight is, and it will give you your new daily point allowance. Are you tracking? If you are, the calculator should be giving you your points.

Ours is manual as well and they have not mentioned anything but I use etools so mine have been adjusted along the way through that. I would definitely bring it up at the next meeting. Hopefully once you get this adjusted you'll see more significant weight-loss. But every little bit counts, remember that.
