I am supposed to be eating 40 p.p and I'm always full and I don't like the feeling of feeling full constantly, I like feeling satisfied. They're are times when It'll be dinner time & I have 20 points left and my dinner is going to only be like 7-10p.p. I'm always hearing how you HAVE to eat all your points so thats why it concerns me.
Has anyone ever ate 5-10p.p lower then their "target"? And did if effect your weight loss?? I don't wanna mess anything up.
thanks!

I had trouble eating all my points to begin with (I started with 41 points) but instead of lowering my daily points, I worked on getting more points in. The best ways to do that are by planning ahead, having a target in mind for each meal/snack (there is a suggested points breakdown in the starting materials), and low bulk-higher point options like nuts, nut butter, and going with higher fat dairy items.
It made sense to me to figure out how to make the points work, as recommended, because I knew I had a lot of weight to lose and I figured if I started out too low in points, that doesn't leave me as much room to cut them down later if things start to slow down or stall out. Plus if I wasn't doing the plan as intended and had problems later on, I wouldn't know if it was "the plan" not working, or my tweaks to the plan.
It took a few weeks to really get the hang of eating my daily points, and if I had a day where I didn't quite hit the mark (like plan a dinner that I only ate half of because I just wasn't hungry or something), I didn't stress out. But I always tried and planned to hit my target.
I agree with Somni. A good way to get extra calories (or points) in without feeling stuffed is to eat nuts. I do this a lot. I don't like the feeling of being stuffed either.
I'm not on WW (though I've had some success with them in the past) but I frequently eat below my calories and still lose weight.
Since everyone gets an individualized points plus target it is really important to try to eat your total points to make sure that your are geting the nutrition that your body needs. If you are under by a point or two it is no big deal, but anything more than that on a constant basis can be harmful to your weightloss.
I know it's hard at first, I started with 42 points! Would you mind posting a day or two's worth of your tracking so maybe we can show you easy ways to up your points without stuffing yourself?
DH is to eat 47 points per day, and he does not always get there, as I am aware of what he is eating I know that he is getting all the vitamins and nutrients that he needs, as we are eating very healthy. Sometimes he will use them all if he wants a major snack at night or we go out. But no he does not always eat all his points and he losses 1 pound a week, pretty much each and every week. I am no expert, and I am sure WW would slap his hand for not eating them all. But it is working for him, we are all so different, so only you know what works for your body.
I think you should definitely aim for the target, and plan for it... however, I personally think it's better to listen to your body's hunger and satiety signals than to keep eating. Ignoring those cues is what got a lot of us here in the first place.
I think another great way to get points in is to use olive oil in foods. I have even added to salad when using other types of dressing. It's 1pp for 1 tsp. Just a thought. Also, peanut butter works great as it's higher in points for a small amount
WW allows you to lower your points, but only by 3. So if you are assigned 40, you are allowed to lower to 37.
As counterintuitive as it seems, you do need to eat to lose weight. That's why you start with a higher number that gets lowered as you lose weight. Your body needs those calories to function properly. Being a point or two under is okay, but 5-10 on a regular basis may hinder your weight loss. Make sure you're getting your daily Good Health Guidelines and if you're eating low-fat foods, consider switching to full fat: it will be the same amount of food but help you get more points.
Like Keli said, is there anyway you can post a daily menu? That might give us ways to offer more specific suggestions
